The Goddard School, at 5005 West Theodore Street, in Plainfield, Illinois, is absolutely phenomenal! My husband and I agree; this school is the best thing that ever happened to our family. My child has attended this Goddard School for well over four years, full-day summer camp included, and we could not be happier. The owners of this site (Karen and Rundy) are still in daily to greet us and are just tremendous people, as are the director and co-director. My son has had multiple teachers and teacher's assistants, throughout the years, and we've been happy with all of them. The school is absolutely beautiful inside and out. I love everything about this school. They really pay attention to every detail. I love the music when you walk in the door and the way that it smells! I love how clean it is and how the children know to go directly to the sink and wash their hands, upon entering in the morning. Each classroom is large and decorated so nicely and brightly! The communication from the school is excellent. I usually receive three pictures per day, sometimes more, through my work email of what my child is doing. It is a wonderful perk which gives me peace of mind, something not easily achieved for a worrier like me. It confirms what I already know, that I wouldn't have him any other place! I will often think, I wonder if they are back from their field trip, and five minutes later a picture will come through showing them playing back at the school. My coworkers have never seen anything like it! After pick-up, a last email is sent detailing what lessons were taught, what activities were done, and even what my child ate. (I find this especially helpful with a picky eater.) My son is now only able to attend their summer camp, and their before and after school care, as he is seven years old, but he entered the public school system being very well prepared, due to his years at this Goddard. Clearly this school really prepares the children academically, which is what a local principle had said he noticed. For now, we will continue enjoying their incredible summer program. I don't recall ever writing a review. This particular Goddard School (5005 W. Theodore Street) in Plainfield, Illinois, compels me to write one. My son has been attending this school for the past two years, since he was two years old, and my wife and I have been consistently happy, to say the least. While he is there, my wife never worries, which is truly amazing. (This is a woman who has never hired a babysitter.) The school itself is, by far, the cleanest, nicest school I have ever visited. My son has absolutely thrived here, both socially and academically. I, for one, was really impressed how they transition the child to the next classroom, as the child starts out by "visiting" his/her new class over a period of time, spending more and more time in the new room, until they feel the child is ready. I feel individual attention is definitely given to each child's needs (potty training, academically, etc.). I am also very pleased with the teachers and front office staff. My son has had multiple teachers and we've been very happy with all of them. There is a lot of direct one-on-one communication, either through the daily activity report, which details everything from the day, including what he decided to eat and how much of it (helpful to know with a very picky eater) or through email, etc. The owners, who are always available and present, are about the nicest people one could meet, and have been extremely flexible and accommodating to our family's ever-changing schedule needs. We have never given much thought to private school, as both my wife and I attended public school, but it was a no-brainer for us to enroll him in their Kindergarten program, which he will start in the Fall. In fact, my wife and I are disappointed they don't offer 1st grade. This school does, however, offer a full-time summer camp, for ages up to eight years old, that our son will certainly attend. Goddard Plainfield II is the perfect fit for our family! Located at 5005 W. Theodore Street in Plainfield, this school is exceptional. As a new mother, I carefully researched the area schools for my daughter. Upon meeting the owners, Rundy and Karen Wells, and touring the school, I knew this was the right place for my precious little girl. I can't say enough wonderful things about the owners, teachers/staff, facility and other families. My daughter absolutely loves going to school, and I know it's a great foundation for her education. From the secure and inviting environment, and attentive and qualified teachers and directors, to the delicious and nutritious meals/snacks prepared daily, the owners and staff at Goddard II really go above and beyond in meeting the needs of every child. I love the structured curriculum and age-appropriate activities that allow our children to meet and even exceed developmental benchmarks. I have watched my daughter really blossom, both academically and socially, and I am thrilled with the standards set at Goddard as a whole, and specifically at our site. At Goddard - Plainfield II, we are truly a family....one huge family, and we all work together in the best interests of our children. The Goddard experience has been amazing and I know that I have made the best decision for my daughter (and for me as a working mom)! After making the difficult decision to return to work after our daughter was born, my husband and I toured local child care facilities and I left each one in tears and feeling like we were making the wrong decision for our family. They all felt drab and cold. From the moment we walked into the Goddard School for our tour, we were greeted with friendly owners and staff, as well as bright decorations and themed classrooms. We could feel the love and fun as soon as we walked in! We were invited back for a play date to see how the teachers interacted with the children and to test how our daughter would do in the classroom. The play date went so well and our daughter had fun and laughed the whole time. I took the enrollment paperwork home with us and she began school the next week. Our daughter absolutely loves her teacher, Miss Alyssa, who is so sweet and caring with our daughter. Miss Alyssa taught her sign language phrases and our 1 year old can now tell us when she is full or wants more, as well as many other sayings. We get many pictures of our daughter throughout the day, showing us her painting and drawing, playing learning games, eating meals prepared by an internal chef, dancing and clapping to songs from the music teacher and playing with her friends on the fenced-in playground. I feel grateful to have found the Goddard School and even more grateful that the owners and teachers love our daughter and are helping her to learn and play every day! I cannot say enough how much I love The Goddard School. Being a first time mom I was terrified of having my son away from me all day in the hands of someone else, however; I quickly came to realize how much love my son received at this school. He looks forward to going to school every day, so much so that as soon as he's dressed in the morning he goes to the door, regardless if I'm ready to go or not! He kicks his legs in excitement when we walk through the doors of the school. The teachers at Goddard not only love my son, and all the kids there, but they also do so much teaching. He has learned a lot since he has been there and it hasn't even been a year. He is always busy throughout the day and is wiped when he gets home. The pictures that I receive throughout the day of him doing hands on activities and the daily report about his time there that I see at the end of the day continues to reassure me that I made the right choice. It's not a daycare.. it's a school! My daughter started school when she was 11 weeks old and she has been there for two years now. As time goes on, I am more and more impressed with this organization. Each teacher creates a lesson plan (even in the infant room), so we know exactly what they have planned for our little one. At the end of each day we get a personalized report on our child's activities - from feedings, naps and diapers to things she did or learned that day and pictures of her enjoying the activities. I have walked into her classroom at all hours of the day, unannounced, and have never once been disappointed or worried about what I saw. The kids are always doing something constructive, and usually as a group. The school is always clean (I don't know how they do it), and the staff is absolutely stellar. I am so, so happy with our decision to place our daughter in the care of the teachers and staff at The Goddard School. I have recommended the school to two friends both are very happy with the organization as well. read more

I cannot express my satisfaction with this school accurately in words, but I will try. As a veteran teacher (20 years) I am beyond pleased with all aspects of The Goddard School. The facilities are gorgeous and spotless, the curriculum is challenging but tailored to the individual child, and the staff is exceptional. Rundy and Karen, the onsite owners, are much more than business owners. They embrace each child as a part of their family and give tirelessly of themselves for their school. The full-day Kindergarten program offered is above and beyond anything I could've expected for my daughter. Her math and reading skills are well advanced for her age/grade level and I attribute this to her education at Goddard. She will enter first grade this fall ahead of her peers and I am confident that she will only continue to excel as a result of the strong foundational skills that she built while attending this school. Where do I start with all the great qualities about this school?!?! My son is 4 and absolutely loves his preschool program at Goddard. We have had some bad experiences in the past with other local programs in the area and we finally found our home, here. From the minute you walk in you are warmly welcomed by the owners, themselves, and the staff, which speaks volumes to the positive climate they create in the building. The curriculum they implement is outstanding and encourages growth of the "whole" child. My son loves the activities they use to facilitate his learning and willingly shares those experiences with me at home. If you are considering touring this school, please do! I cannot say enough great things about The Goddard School. My daughter has grown academically since enrolling at this school. I have been impressed with the daily email report with pictures of the learning activities, the goals/objectives of the lessons and the meal report. Getting this information allows me to talk about what my daughter did at school and build on this learning at home. My daughter gets excited to practice sign language that she learned at school and is always proud of herself when she remembers her lessons from school. My daughter never liked to work on flashcards, reading and writing at home, but now that she is doing this more regularly at school, she is much more willing to continue to work at home. Absolutely the best choice we've made for our sons future. Goddard is exceptional in all areas of education, childcare, social development, and the preperation for becoming a brilliant young man. The owners take every family as their own and work with you to develop the best plan for your child. The Goddard School is amazing. My wife and I are so happy we enrolled our twins at this school. They have been attending for almost a year now and we are very happy with their development. Our babies will be 2 years old in November and intellectually they are excelling. They are able to say and identify their ABCs, count to 20, identify colors, show compassion, and are socialized well. The staff here is also another reason we are very happy with our choice. The teachers are amazing, informative and loving. Kim and Lisandra are always very welcoming. I love the safety measures and feel extremely comfortable with my kids being here. My kids genuinely has really blossomed academically and socially. They genuinely love this school and have made so many new friends and honestly so have I lol. Goddard keeps my husband and I updated on their general development and we appreciate the daily reports along with pictures. The teachers inspire my children to learn and believe in their creativity. My wife and I started researching child care options for our four month old daughter and finally arrived at the Goddard School. Goddard made all our previous options obsolete. The level off attention given to our daughter and security of the school is unbelievable. To be honest, the tuition is a little higher than our previous options, but we made it work because we know our daughter will thrive in this environment. In addition, they send five pictures via email every day of activities she did and how she slept and ate.
