This is not the process or vision I thought I would have! I understand the healing process takes 6 months, however I was told I would be able to see while healing and I cannot. I was 20/20 the day after lasik and 3 days after it changed. I have followed every step I have tried countless different eye drops not to mention spend hundreds of dollars trying to find something that will work. I wake up everyday with blur. I thought the whole point of this was to wake up and see. Every morning is started with frustration. The whole reason I did this was to see and not have to wear glasses ever again. I can't wear glasses for my profession and my hobbies. (I never wore my glasses in the past as it was.) I went to see an optometrist because I have called, I went into the clinic and they said it takes 6 months to heal. I went into because I knew I wasn't seeing clearly. I am driving a-crossed all of south eastern Wisconsin daily for work and I can't even make objects out. I own an exterior business and I'm up on roofs daily. This is completely unsafe and not to mention triggering terrible headaches all day! After tests, one eye is -1.25 and the other is -1.50. I planned this around the time to heal and enjoy my summer and also not to mention my busy season for work. I will mention my original date was canceled and I got pushed back a month and a half. I can't be up on roofs and attics looking up and climbing down with glasses. We have a pool that we are in daily in about a month. I can't wear glasses there. I am a water skier and much more. Non of which I am or can wear glasses. I can't make the TV out from 6 feet away. I have a new baby and I can't even see his face when he's playing or being held by my wife. Non of this is ok, and my vision is not getting better. I don't have 5 more months to just wait. If you have any apprehensions about doing this, I would suggest not. Not being able to see, do activities I love and not to mention see faces of my loved ones is a big disappointment. I wish I could just go back to my contacts and see. read more

Let me start by saying I don't typically write reviews, but for TLC, yes. Do yourself a big favor and schedule the consultation. I was hesitant about laser eye surgery for all of the obvious reasons. Plus I'm a worrier, so I was as nervous as nervous gets. Walking in, that soon went away. Every. single. person. in that office was friendly, reassuring, explained all parts of the process and answered all of my repetitive questions. Dr. Nelson was even nice enough to text me the night of my surgery to make sure I was feeling okay and that nothing was wrong. The process itself is uncomfortable, but quick and pain free - I was driving myself the next day with no blurriness, no halo effect, etc. 10/10 would do it again, though... based on my review you should have figured out that I don't need any further surgery (20/15 to 20/20 eyesight, baby!). I'm so glad I had my Lasik surgery done at TLC. I have been thinking about it for almost two decades but have been too afraid to do it. The receptionist Mary Jo, and the rest of the staff, were so nice and helpful. Both Dr. Nelson and Dr. Hale were knowledgeable about the procedure that I went in knowing exactly what to expect before, during, and after the surgery. No needles were involved! It was quick and painless. The only thing that I felt was the pressure on the skin around my eyes for less than a minute on each eye. I did not have to wear my glasses as soon as I walked out of the office. Dr. Nelson was able to respond to any of the questions that I had after the surgery through texting. I had LASIK in January 2018, and it has been wonderful having 20/20 vision! I highly recommend TLC to anyone that is considering LASIK. The doctors and the staff were so great! I liked that they offered a patient education session a few days before the procedure, and they explained what to expect and answered all questions. They understand that most patients feel nervous about having the procedure done, and they focus on making the patient feel at ease. I was surprised at how fast the procedure was performed. The recovery time went by fast too. You have to follow a schedule for using a few different kinds of eye drops for a week or so after the procedure, and TLC provides a chart that is easy to follow. Dr Nelson and Dr Hale (and all of their other staff) were great. I was pretty excited about the process at first....until I heard the nitty gritty details of the procedure. I definitely was thinking of walking out I was so nervous. The lady who prepped me and the folks in the surgery room were so reassuring and kind to me, it was seriously the fastest 10 min of my life. They make it so easy for you, all you have to do is lay there and they coach you during the whole thing. Have already been recommending them to my friend and family. I had LASIK in January and it's been life changing! I love being able to see right when I wake up in the morning and not worrying about losing or breaking expensive glasses and prescription sunglasses. Everyone at the office was so helpful and kind. I really appreciated Dr. Nelson sharing his own experience with surgery. The pre-op meeting with Dr. Hale really helped. He explained exactly what would happen during surgery. It went SO quickly! I absolutely loved my experience at TLC! Dr. Hale is such a professional and he uses the most current technology out there. My experience was pain-free, recovery was short, and my vision is fantastic. The price included all of the my pre-op and post-op visits too (no hidden fees!). The staff at TLC is amazing! From the moment I walked in the door for my consult, they were so great and answered all my questions. I highly recommend TLC in Brookfield. The staff and doctors are excellent. Ask for a lower price than the one they start out with. I checked out LVI before TLC. TLC offered a lower price but gave me the creeps. The "pressure" they say you will feel is actually pain but it doesn't last long. Everything else is painless. If you are older and have trouble with near and far vision as I did, ask about monovision. That's the way I went and I only needed Lasik in one eye. I can see near and far without correction.
