I went to this place the other day as it was in the area. My regular nail lady retired so I've been trying to find a new one. So glad to say I was pleasantly surprised as the shop is pretty unassuming from the outside. The staff is very friendly and the shop is nice and clean. My first visit, my nail artist was very friendly and easy to talk to. When it came to shape and color, I just wanted something simple and clean looking, and let my nail lady take charge. Honestly, I would have never picked this shape or color on my own, but I fell in love once she showed me the final results. It was definitely a trust the process kinda moment. I've already gotten so many compliments at work! I think it's safe to say I've found my new regular spot.

Got a pedicure and dip nails. The ladies were friendly and did a great job. I paid a little more than I used to paying at other salons, but I think it was worth it.

A year ago I would have suggested this nail salon but ABSOLUTELY not today. I cannot believe the owner charged to get my mom to make sure she collected the $15 for an extra 10 min message that my mom said NO to TWICE! They CONSTANTLY take advantage and I AM DONE going here for GOOD! There's definitely a language barrier that is not getting any better. It was not relaxing as they yell across the room and Chinese. They have no kind of compassion whatsoever. I'm actually embarrassed for bringing my mom here. I have given them more than enough chances to make it right. A while I was there today. The lady next to me asked the technician more than once if she could please takeoff the polish she had applied and start over because it looked horrible. I didn't say anything because I just wanted to leave, but my toes look awful. The technician I had was trying to be bossy (yelling at coworkers) and kept hurting me in the process. All my toes are rounded and really sharp and pointy at the corners.

The 3 stars is not anything negative towards the salon or the workers here, but rather just maybe picking the right nail tech for personal preference. Yesterday was when I came for a mani/pedi, this was my second time coming here. Unfortunately I forgot to post a first visit review which was on the Lunar New Year Day, but I really liked their service and nail job, that I came back for a second time. Another unfortunate is that I don't remember any names, but the manager was very nice and the nail techs were also. I'll start by saying the pedicure, which was my first service, was very relaxing. It had been about a little over 2 months since my last pedicure, and I really needed it. The nail tech was very good from start to finish. Moving to my manicure, I wanted tips but I'm inexperienced about dips, powders, liquid, ect with fake nails. I usually get a clean up with or without polish/gel. So another nail tech came for my manicure, and I left it up to her professional decision. I could tell she knew her stuff, but my only problem was that she was rough. I have very delicate and sensitive fingers/cuticles, and very sensitive to cuts and blood from my fingers, so much so that I end up having fainting spells. I usually maintain my own manicures because I've been cut so many different times. This experience was one of those. Almost every other finger has a cut, and a bit sore from yesterday. I did really like her application of the tips, shaping, and color application. The design I chose for inspo does need a little improvement, but I still got compliments today. I do believe she is great, but maybe not for me due to my sensitive fingers/cuticles. I am planning on another visit, but after my fingers have healed. I do believe I should have spoken up about needing someone gentle or asked my manicurist to be gentle, so I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and update this review. Again, all the nail techs were very nice and the salon was clean and well kept.

I got my nails done here for the first time and its safe to say that I will be coming back. I was looking for a new nail salon in San Jose and this spot is definitely amazing. All of the workers are super nice and my nails is amazing!

The salon is very clean and there are so many nail polishes and styles to choose from! I got helped immediately when I walked in, I decided to do a gelx manicure with Ivy and she was very detailed and made sure everything was to my liking and matched the inspo pic. Everyone in the salon is so sweet and welcoming, definitely coming back!

I walked in and requested the builder gel on my natural nails. This was my first time and heard good things about it so I wanted to try it. The manicure session was about an hour which was very long. The technique of the builder gel was different for sure, no cuticle care or massage which I normally get with a gel manicure elsewhere. The manicurist also said she hasn't done Builder gel in a while. So the issues I had was that with the application of the gel, there were some bubbles that developed on several of my nails. She had to redo those because it was very visible. Maybe that is why the whole session took so long. I will recommend having the builder gel but it is a little pricey here at $65. Not sure if that is the standard price or not. So TJ nail spa is a decent place to checkout. read more

Love it From the very first day I visited TJ Nails, I never went anywhere else. The girls here are so sweet and always know exactly what to recommend. My pedicures and manicures always turn out beautiful. Most of time I get new set nails and they look so nice and professional. They help me choose the styles that suit me best and are always friendly to every client. Overpriced as hell but they do a great job, if you're willing to pay more for basic designs! They were trying to charge me $20 extra for french tip when they were SHORT COFFIN. I went and got a Mani and Pedi yesterday and by far it was the worst experience I ever had. Tracy is the only one in that salon that knows how to treat a customer! She did my pedi and it was great. Someone did my mani and it was horrible! I literally was treated like a dollar sign. All they tried to do the entire time it upsell me stuff. I've been to SOO many nail salons before, but the experience I had here is the best!! The employees are so gentle with your nails--and mine were quite brittle and sensitive considering I had previous acrylics taken off. I got a full set with a design as well as a hot stone pedicure, and both were fantastic. My nails felt and looked so clean afterwards, and the end result for both my hands and feet were incredible. The work stations are kept tidy as well, and I appreciate how the tools are equally clean and sanitized. There was so much patience from the workers; I was indecisive with length and color, but they helped me choose the right ones! I always appreciate the kindness and humor from them as well. Prices are reasonable and I will definitely be coming back. : ) read more

I came to this nail salon on a recommendation, and was not sure what to expect. I am so so beyond happy with my result. My nail artist did exactly what I asked for, and was patient with me when I was indecisive as well as answered all my questions. I had recently taken off acrylics from my nails and so my fingernails were extremely sensitive and hey she was so gentle and worked precisely so that I was in as little pain as possible. She did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier with the result. I also got a pedicure, and the woman who did it was so kind and did such a good job at makings sure I was as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommended this nail salon to anyone who might be interested. I will definitely be visiting again. I've been going to this nail salon for a year now and I'm always so impressed every time! The prices are really good, & the staff is always very friendly, sweet, and attentive. They really take their time to make sure my nails are exactly what I want and perfect for all my events. I have done both mani & pedi with my girlfriends and it's always a blast (we called to book ahead of time and they reserved chairs for us to be all seated next to each other so we can chat :D) They also have massage chairs you can use while getting a pedicure and it's just heavenly and a good way to destress. I will continue to come back and bring my friends, they've all had only good things to say after visiting! :D read more

I went in for the first time yesterday and had such a great experience! Ivy took her time doing my nails and was so precise when doing the nail design. I really enjoyed my visit. This was the first time I was actually completely satisfied with my nails. I got acrylics done and am very happy the acrylic powder was not applied on super thick like other places I've previous had my nails done at. I decided to try this shop after going to another shop for years, but getting frustrated with wait times and nickel and diming on pricing . Can not believe I paid for this. 105.00 to be in pain 7 hours later from this pedicure. I've never had a pedicure this bad. Last time a different lady made my pedicure look natural. This time the nails are incredibly long going past my natural toe nail so it shows through the acrylic. I asked her once to shorten it which she did but they were still too long, it looks ridiculous. I wish I paid closer attention. One nail is crooked and look at how many toes bled! Disgusting!! Please get your pedicures done somewhere else! read more

I lived all over the bay area and southern california this past decade and loved them. Today's experience with the front desk reception is the final nail in the coffin for me to stop being a return customer. I saw there's plenty of small wax businesses with high reviews and for less than what EWC is charging. I never thought to look elsewhere because i was loyal to the brand. I didn't realize i was overpaying! first red flag was being asked if i completed my pre-wax survey and that it should be in my email in what felt like a rude tone. my waxer then came out and was ready for me and the receptionist held me from going until answering the questions - i get it that's fine but being held back from my appt has never happened to me before. my waxer was wonderful! a great experience. i don't want to minimize that the waxers are great there. afterwards the receptionist asked me to charge my card, i said the last 4 digits and normally that's not a problem and the last 2 times i was there at this location it worked fine. but for some reason, now the payment wasn't going through. we think it's the zip code and i ask is there a way i can just pay and update all that at a later time - i am so used to just being able to leave right after that i ended up being late to another appointment having to tap my phone and card several times and each time the machine stated approve but their systems said failed. i check my bank statement and there were 5 charges to my card - all the same amount. i hold up my phone to show them. this is now ~$700 in held pending transaction funds going into the weekend - its was 4pm on friday and banks close over the weekend. i honestly don't understand why i couldn't just tap a credit card like any normal transaction and be on my way - the woman at the reception really had me staying back asking me for my whole address to update instead of just letting me pay and leave! )-: ADVICE: Do not keep tapping your payment method when updating info or if they tell you the charge isn't going through, just ask to pay normally like at any other merchant as a one time charge. i really wish i advocated more when it didn't feel right to be tapping my payment so many times and seeing APPROVED across the payment machine. my appointment was at 3:30pm i was out at about 4pm on friday, may 15. there was only one receptionist at the front at the time. i didn't recognize her so maybe she was new but this experience just really tipped it all over for me. there's a lot of waxers in the area! i advise looking around before deciding on a large chain that has some customer service quality issues. EDIT: yes i have challenged the charges on my bank app already - i just don't have the time to call before lines close for the weekend and the experience over all with the higher prices made it feel like value didn't match spend.
