Extremely pushy with signing up for a credit card. I got asked multiple times about signing up. If a customer says no stop pushing it.

Horrible experience with a heavy set woman with short blonde hair and tattoos on her arms. Talking at a register as though she were a cashier with another employee being very unprofessional. This store is clean, stocked and organized. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Every time I shop there, a staff member asks if I need anything and how I am doing. Their check out lines seem organized and goes by fast. I love their health and beauty section. I always find something there for a reasonable price. I also like the fact that they have a jewelry counter. This is one of my favorite shopping places. read more

Ok, so I'll confess that I have never stepped foot into a TJ Maxx store up until today. Why you may ask: I have absolutely no reason or excuse to offer. None. So since one just opened up locally last month and since I was in the area I decided it was about time to pay The Maxx a lil' visit. This location originally housed the seasonally rented out Halloween City. At least now there's something here permanently (that also offers some competition to the Ross located at the other end of this shopping plaza I might add). Upon entering it certainly seemed pretty easy enough to find the different categories located throughout the store thanks to the aid of large overhead signs. Men's is located to the left, children's is back left, home and seasonal is in the very back, shoes are back right, purses and luggage are towards the right, and women's and beauty/jewelry are located middle left and middle right respectively. Although it is easy to find the categories, there appears to be a overall emptiness of the store, like they are not utilizing their full merchandising potential. This too also feels odd when you walk into the Home section and items appear to be thrown onto the shelves like it was the Tasmanian Devil's first day on the job stocking shelves. However, there were some very nifty seasonal items and the staff seemed courteous and helpful. I did not make a purchase here today and merely came to check The Maxx out. I'm sure I will be back again but I can't see myself frequenting this establishment very often. read more

New hours and they close at 7:00pm. I walked up to the door at 6:45 and they told me they were closed because they have to have all the customers out of the store by 7:00. This will be the first ever TJ Maxx I give 3, not 4 or 5 stars too. I had been waiting for one to open in my area, and thought this would be closer than it is. First off, why is the hell would they open a location HERE? Really in the middle of nowhere, the town in tiny and pretty run down. The TJ's is big and spacious but I found nothing worthwhile. More of your run of the mill Marshalls or Ross type feel, no designer goods here. I might check in again, if I am ever in the area again, but i doubt it. I use to love this store, but it's currently operating with a bunch of weirdos in charge. I was literally harassed by Emma B to open a credit card and when I politely said no 3 times, she began throwing out very rude passive aggressive comments like "that's fine if you don't want to save." She also did not give me my receipt and I'm positive that was intentional. Very rude person. I've stopped shopping here as much because of her and the other weird big manager lady. They are so awkward and make it such a weird atmosphere. The service use to be so great. What happened? District Manager-get rid of these trolls! read more

Incompetence at the maxx. Management sucks and employees are rude as hell. Starla is the only kind employee here and the rest suck! They're lazy and don't ever ask for help cause they don't know how to. Makes you wonder why? Alright store to shop at but the customer service is HORRIBLE. The employees are rude and not well trained for Handling customers during busy times of the day. As I was waiting in line trying to return an article of clothing the two cashiers were whispering to one another about how they hate doing returns while giving me dirty looks for returning something. If there ever is a next time I hope they can do their job correctly instead of making customers feel they are annoying and UNWELCOME. read more

The store has some nice items. Although they are over priced. Clearance items are $1 less then buying them at the store they originally came from... Not a place for bargains... My issue is the employees. Went there today, bought a few things. Noticed there was a belt missing in one of the items I purchased. I said something... The guys response was "well that's why it's on clearance".... I replied nicely.... I don't think so, all the other ones just like this on the clearance rack had the belt.... He said OH... Then refused to chat with me the rest of the time. I wasn't looking for any additional money off... I genuinely hadn't noticed... I should have walked back there grabbed ALL 6 other items that had the belt on them, exchanged the one out I was buying for one with a belt... And then left them all for him to restock. Kicker... IT WAS ME AND 4 OTHER PEOPLE IN THE STORE!!! He offered no solution, no customer service.. Nothing more then OH... I only gave 3 stars because the items they have are nice... Parking: there is a lot of parking available in their private lot. There is a lot of selection to be found here whether it be Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff, Michael Kors, Furla & Coach amongst the many name brands. Just kinda blah. I think the size of the store hinders it from being more successful. It is never crowded which can be a good thing for the shopper but not for the store. Also, because of the size, they don't have any children's shoes and a small selection of adult shoes. There are only 2 stores in Yucaipa where you can buy kid's shoes (Ross and Payless) so it would have been really nice to have another option. I don't think I have ever really found anything amazing in their women's or junior's clothes sections.(I think Ross in the same shopping center has a much better clothes selection.) I did get a hoodie jacket there for my daughter when other stores were sold out so that was a plus. Their gift items are pretty cool and the home goods are fun to look through but again, a small section is dedicated to both. read more

Store is very clean and organized and staff is very friendly. There's not much selection for men's clothing and no men shoes I was there to get a couple sweaters for my boys and found what I needed but only about two types to choose from .The prices were decent 20 bucks for the sweaters and found myself a belt for myself for 12 bucks but nothing spectacular the home decor stuff and women's apparel seem pretty nice I would be afraid to tell my wife about this place may cost me a fortune a lot cleaner and more friendly than the Ross down the way. I like coming to this store but I've noticed that the three girl associates were not being very professional with their job. The 1 associate had shoulder length straight black hair wore a orange blouse with black jeggings. This associate though she must have been at a Christmas party insteaf of her actual job! She kept chatting with all the girl associates, jumping around to the store music, laughing. A customer had asked her ro help look for an item check on the floor but the associate didn't want to go check and just said we don't have anymore without even looking. Her and another co-worker looked at each and just laughed about it. We is the store manager putting these girls in check when it comes to the customers needs??? Do your job and stop messing around! Finally! It's about time Yucaipa got more shopping options. The store is clean & organized & easy to maneuver. It hasn't been open long so I assume that's why the selection isn't huge. I have high hopes for the selection to improve in the near future. But I have still found some great items, even with the limited selection. TJ Maxx is always a great choice! read more

I came in looking for a purse and bought one. Then as I'm paying I see another purse in the bin along with the one I was going to buy. The ones locked up have to be taken to the front checkouts until you go to pay. The purse was on hold supposedly for a customer that was still shopping. I paid and said I would be back to check to see if it was purchased because I would buy it. I went back and the young girl working there who was at the line telling you which checkout to go to, was still there. I asked her if it was purchased she walked over and checked in the bin and said yes it was gone someone bought it. So as I walk by I see the bag in the bin. I told her it was still there, where she checked and said it wasn't. I was pretty mad she lied to me. Maybe next time if your going to say that you should make sure that the customer can't see the item. So her explanation along with the guys was she's still shopping. So I go to leave but clearly I'm mad and I walked back in to talk to the manager. So the lady manager says oh I put that on hold this morning for someone who called that had it on law away and got put back. So they are holding it for her until closing. I told her that's not what my cashier had said. So now who do you believe? They're all lying. So the guy manager says well you can call me tomorrow and I can hold it for you if it's still here. Why would I do that? Obviously the," lady who had it on law away" couldn't pay for it in 30 days so why wouldn't you just sell it to someone who would buy it now? I shop there all the time partly because where else is there to shop in Yucaipa. I'm not going to be going here for awhile.. read more
