Love TJ Maxx for their name brands, prices & selection. What more could a girl want, lol. I was on a search for a bday gift for my 8 year old neighbor. Like most others, this location is no different. The store is very clean, including their bathrooms (huge +), and the staff is friendly. The gentleman that checked me out was super nice & helpful. I did not find something that struck me for her gift but I did score a nice shirt for my son on clearance, as well as Sun Bum lip baum (a surfers brand that is cruelty free & has SPF) for 1/2 the price! SCORE! I also saw the exact same Gaiam roller for 1/2 the price I paid for it on Amazon! If you don't mind looking, you will find things that you would buy at big name stores for half the price here. read more

I will say I've found some solid Ralph Lauren dress shirts here. Yes they still are $47 or so, but for the quality hard to beat. Also Nautica ones for $25 is a decent deal. These are two brands that I like, but the Jones and other ones not so much. This store could be better. A lot of it is due to how busy it is, and also a lack of organization. It's not my favorite TJ. Getting in and out of here on Route 7 is a headache. The lines are "read a chapter long." It's like there's never a lull here, and I like to shop in a semblance of peace. That won't be found here, but that's Tysons Corner for you. Still I'm grateful for the polite staff. Also happy to get nice looking shirts, at half of what they'd be at Tysons Corner Shopping Center. That helps my budget, or what's left of it. read more

This TJ Maxx is located in the Sakura plaza, right off the Leesburg Pike. It seems as if this place has more of a selection of 'Off the Runway' items, as there are a lot of designers showcased. If you have the time to sift through, some of these items appear in the regular clearance racks, all melded in with the other articles of clothing. One thing I've noticed, though, is that most of the clothing are usually stained, mostly with foundation or lipstick marks. GROSS! Also, there is a lot of inventory here, not really organized, and it's a little 'compact.' If you're a cup/mug person, this particular location seems to have a nice variety - there are some cute currently-treading unicorn mugs. The SAs are not readily available, as they are only a couple who stock items and the rest are up at the front, manning the cashiers. I was able to find some cute shirts, but just with any TJ Maxx stores, you may be fortunate to find a special/rare item on a random visit. I have to note that I've met one of the most friendliest cashiers in all of the TJ Maxx/Marshalls/HomeGoods-land - her name is Sabina, and she is so CHEERFUL! I visited this store last evening and was not satisfied with the service also the store was packed with clothing and no sense of organization. There was a lot of inventory in that store. When I got to the register I alerted the cashier that a skirt I was purchasing had a stain (see photos) and could I get a 10% discount. She informed me that they don't discount for things of that nature but she could ask. I asked her to ask her Manager. The Manager said they do not discount, but I could go home and wash it and if it did not come out I could return it. What???? A 10% discount would have went so far in customer service than telling a customer to go home and wash a newly purchased item to remove a stain and then take the time and energy to return it back to the store if I was unsuccessful in the removal of the stain. I purchased the skirt at full price because it was really beautiful and I wanted. Upon leaving the store the sensor on my bag went off so the Manager who refused to offer a discount but gave a plethora of other suggestions checked my bag to find a sensor still on one of the garments. I further discussed with the Manager the notion that they don't discount items for damage and she stood firm in initial stance. I worked retail at Marshalls for a year and offering a discount for a damaged item was customary and I let her know that. She puts the items back in my bag and I go home to find that one of the items I paid for was not in the bag and now I have to go back to that store to retrieve the item I purchased or get a refund. This was not a pleasant experience and I don't foresee ever going back to this TJ Maxx. read more

This is my FAVORITE TJ Maxx of all time!!! It has such an amazing selection and has a pretty good layout. Pros: -Vast, plentiful dresses selection. I racked UP today with gorgeous spring dresses. -Great workout/active workout section. I needed workout clothes and had plenty of options to choose from. Sizes were good too! -Shoe section was decent and had lots of Michael Kors shoes. -Checkout was good-not too long! -They have a decent sized "Runway" section, which has their high-end items. I even saw a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes!!!! Omg I couldn't believe it. That section was expensive, naturally. I picked up a dress that was $559 and put it RIGHT back down lol Con: -The aisles in the women's are big enough only for one cart going in the same direction. So it was hard to push my cart and browse in certain sections. Overall, this was such a worthy drive! Love this location! read more

Maybe it's just because I live out in the suburbs of Ashburn but this TJ Maxx is amazing and has way more than the ones out by me (Fairfax, Sterling). I love that they have designer brands like Love Shack Fancy, House of Harlow, Beach Riot, Chloe, Theory, and many more. They have a wide range of designer shoes too. Literally, I found a pair of Chloe sneakers for half the price of what I had just purchased them for at Tysons Galleria. These shoes retail for $595 dollars and were being sold at TJ Maxx for almost half the price. Luckily they weren't my size so it softened the blow and didn't make me feel as bad. I think I've become addicted to coming because I've been three times in the past 2 weeks to look for clothes for an upcoming vacation. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I hate the parking lot. There's only one way in and out and it's a busy area with all the other stores in the strip, especially during the afternoons during peak traffic time for the Tysons area. I'd suggest going in the mornings or early afternoon on weekdays. read more

Staff is so rude, they buy all popular inventory, they question your returns when you're a loyal customer and they sold you something used, and they're just incompetent. AND they allow these "personal shoppers" to roam around the store for literal hours on their phone live shopping for others. They take 2, 3 even 4 carts of inventory to then up charge and Venmo people to send out to them. Essentially using my TJMAXX as a store front and leaving no stock for purchase for regular hunters. I will never go back. There's better discount stores to spend your money at. read more

I haven't been to this TJ Maxx in years. The parking lot makes it extremely difficult to be safe. I was waiting in line and I had two baby outfits (both that were on the clearance rack). I asked the guy to do a price check for me. What does he do? He asks his manager. The manager says "these are new merchandise." I'm not sure how she memorizes all inventory in stock, but apparently she does. So they refused to actually look it up. When I took 10 seconds to debate which one I wanted, the guy says "here you can hold it and figure it out." What? LOL Yeah, I'll go to another location. read more

For the rest of us folk, this is pretty darn exciting...I mean "it moved down there a little bit" exciting! Why? Well wrap you mind around this: You can go to a sports store an pay $80 to $90 for an official Redskins hoodie. How much can you find the SAME friggin' hoodie at TJ Maxx's? $30 bones!!! Yes! You saw that right! $30 versus $90!! They have hats, jerseys, t-shirts and a whole bunch of cool stuff. I friggin love it! They also have other name brand clothes for mondo cheap prices. You may call me a cheap fokker, but I prefer to go by "smart shopper". So while some other donkey is shelling out $90 on a Redskins hoodie, I'll happily plunk down $30 for the same hoodie. I love T.J. Maxx, but this location is extra special - it has a runway section! Compared to the closest location to me (in Sterling), this T.J. Maxx is 100 percent nicer. Anyway, so the runway section is a special designer section that not all T.J. Maxx locations have. They have shoes, clothes, handbags, and some accessories from a large selection of upscale brand names - think Helmut Lang, Valentino, Alice and Olivia, YSL, L.K Bennett, DVF, Pucci, etc. While sometimes you can find these kinds of gems at T.J Maxx, they are few and far between. However, here they have a huge selection! Although some of the pieces can still be pricey, they really do have some good discounts. As for the rest of the store, I found it to be extremely well organized. I was particularly impressed by the home goods section - I didn't need any broken glasses, spilled food, and all the cooking utensils, sheets, lamps, etc. all looked nice and neat on the shelves/racks. I looked through the racks of the casual women's wear,and was again impressed by the great selection. Still tons of high quality name brand pieces, and ample quality of everything. The only disappointing this was that the clearance section was pretty small, but at least it was well organized. I ended up not getting anything on this particular trip, but I will definitely be coming back frequently to look out for great deals! read more

The main reason this place gets two stars is because of how unprofessional the manager is. He/she (not sure what pronoun he identifies with) is super loud, trashy, unprofessional, and can be really nasty to other customers. Never has been with me because I avoid him/her at all costs, but I've seen it several times. The store is a bit disorganized and shoe sizes are all mixed up. But main issue is the manager - definitely a little coo-coo in the head if you ask me. read more

I've shopped at Maxx and Marshall's stores up and down the East Coast and have to say this one in Tyson's / Vienna is definitely one of the worst because of the staff. It's called a "runway" store because of the high-end brands that it sells alongside other brands, and you can get some great finds here, but sadly the cashiers, floor staff and most managers (not all) are beyond terrible - they are clueless, rude, unprofessional and untrained. The registers are unable to produce email receipts half the time and the cashiers don't tell you that until it's too late, they blame the cleaning equipment, but this is not a problem in any other store anywhere else. They randomly refuse to take online returns at some of the registers claiming that they're new and don't know how to do it and when they do, it takes hours to return something purchased online, which is the worst aspect of this store. The exorbitant time investment here to return online purchases has been outrageous ever since TJ Maxx began to offer online purchasing and returns in stores. This is not the case in ANY of their other stores. I've had an especially nasty manager sneeze on his/her hands and wipe his/her nose with his/her hands and then continue to touch my items at the register. They gave me a hard time about returning a hair product that I tried just once, when I regularly see empty jewelry boxes and half-used products on shelves, as well as thieves stuffing bags full of merchandise and walking out without paying. Definitely not worth going here until they get some better staff. read more

The Tysons TJ Maxx carries more luxury goods than any of the other stores in the area. There is a "Runway" area near the fitting room that has high end designer pieces from the likes of Kate Spade, Tory Burch, and DVF to name a few. The shoe selection is great, but can be limited in sizing as smaller sizes go fast. You can find a vast array of brands from Steve Madden to even Valentino and Manolos. The store itself is fairly organized considering that it does carry a large amount of merchandise. The jewelry counter was extremely busy here on a weekend afternoon, but the store has a ticket system as an attempt to service customers on a first come first served basis. The clearance areas with marked down items are clearly labeled. I did come across a pricing snafu when looking a 2 similar pillows in the home section. The only difference was the color, yet one was marked higher than the other one. As I waited in the checkout area to have an associate confirm the price, another customer mentioned to me that he was having the same issue with pricing. It leads me to believe that this could potentially be a common mistake. Fortunately, with the help of Kevin he was able to confirm the lower ticketed price and I was on my merry way! read more

I am only reviewing a TJ Maxx because they are all so very different around here. TJ Maxx is like my version of meditation. It calms and centers me to sort through piles and piles of crap/clothes and handbags for hours at a time. I do my best thinking in TJ Maxx. I was once here for 5 hours and it seemed like 20 minutes. There are a few brands I always look for here, and I always find them. (Rebecca Minkoff, Rebecca Taylor, Rachel Roy, and Paige jeans). You might not have the same taste as I do. All I know is that the Marshalls in Columbia Heights and the TJ Maxx in Friendship Heights are awful, so don't even waste your time there. The handbag section here is usually amazing (once found a Ferragamo bag for $150) and the clearance dresses section always has at least 2-3 amazing finds. They have a "runway" designer section, which always has tons of Helmut Lang, if you are into that. read more

Plenty of parking spots available in the strip lot. Came here looking for suits and blazers but selection was severely limited. Fitting room and register staff were pleasant enough. Shoes were crazy disorganized, lots of sizes cross-bleeding into the wrong sections. Their better items had more inventory count, displayed on stand-alone racks and shelves. Clothing layout is fairly intuitive. Despite comparative markdown value and broad inventory, what was left wasn't very eye-catching. Most of the cardigans were shaped for grandma-fit, and the clearance dresses required linebacker shoulders. Bought a trench and some knee socks though. read more

I had made a purchase on TJMaxx.com and had to return a few things in the store. I want to share my experience on returning online purchase items. 1) It is important to keep the plastic bag for each of the items purchased online. The item itself did not have the TJ Maxx tags, so the cashier relied on the barcode on the plastic bags to do the return. 2) expect to take longer than a "normal" return. My cashier check the receipt again the barcode of each item first. Then as she scanned the item, she marked on the receipt on the item she just returned. She seemed to have to checked the item based on the bar code number. It was a much slower process than normal. The return went pretty smoothly. I got my money back and really did not run into any problem. It just took quite awhile. ===================================== Original review: This store continues to be one of the best ones in the area. They have a very good (and organized) selection of handbags. A good selection of clothing that are mostly organized. The line could be really long, especially around lunch hours on weekdays and pretty much all the time on weekends. One thing I don't like about this store is that the isles are very narrow. If someone has a shopping cart and is standing in the isle, you can't push your shopping cart through. read more

The selection here compared to the average TJ maxx is incredible. So much more designer choices, it reminds me more of a Nordstrom rack. That being said, check your items carefully before purchasing them. I thought I had found a fantastic deal on some Moschino sunglasses, only to find as I was about to take the tag off and put them on in the car that they were scratched up but only noticeable in the sunlight. The inside doors weren't working at all and there was no sign that made the customers aware that the doors are out of service. So we expecting it to open and stood there for a little bit until we realized it isn't working. Inside of the store is okay, very limited option for professional bottoms. Maybe 1/4 rack of skirts that has few sizes and that's it. Dresses are out of season. Wouldn't recommend if you're banking on coming here to get a complete outfit. read more
