I was looking for some nice decorative towels for the guest bathroom and I decided to stop at TJ Maxx to look at options. Again, this place did not disappoint. They had a good selection of colors, sizes, brands, and prices. You can really pick something that fits your wallet, your decor and your style...all for less. TJ Maxx is well known as a department store that sells items at prices generally lower than other major similar stores. It has more than 1,000 stores in the United States, making it one of the largest clothing retailers in the country. TJ Maxx is the flagship chain of the TJX Companies. Clearly the management of this store has improved drastically from my last review five years ago. I'm guessing having a Burlington plop themselves next door has also been an effective way to improve the store. This store is now properly replenished, clean, and organized. They also invested in having more cashiers on registers so even during peak shopping hours wait times in line are under five minutes. Overall a great improvement and I would actually recommend this store over the Burlington in the same shopping plaza now. read more

This has turned into one of my favorite TJ MAXX's. I NEVER have any problems here and the employees are helpful- ALWAYS going above and beyond to assist you! One time I was looking for a specific handbag (that they had just sold the last one of) and a manager helped me call several TJ Maxx locations in the area until they found it for me! This employee went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction! That has also happened at the Jewelry Counter here as well. The employee called another TJ Maxx Jewelry Counter to help me find a piece of jewelry I really wanted despite knowing that every store carries a variety of pieces. Even though it could have been a difficult task she managed to take it on and ultimately succeed! Bottom line is the management here is clearly doing a much better job with their employees & their training! This store is run much more smoothly and their management techniques are similar to Nordstrom which has a reputation for having the BEST customer service; which as a former Nordstrom employee and current customer I have witnessed and experienced firsthand! I am also ALWAYS greeted at this location and have never been treated with less then utmost respect- wish I could say the same for my local TJ MAXX (Smithfield, RI)! Side-note: I also feel like this location has the best selection of kids shoes (random I know). They also have a great selection of women's clothes and handbags as well as children's clothes and toys. read more

So, this review is mainly on a brief experience I had at TJ Maxx with a rude customer. It was back in November when I was doing some driving around and decided to stop by here and browse. I actually did find something I was looking for, a beard detangling cream. I decided that was the only thing I was getting and headed to the register. Typical packed Sunday, long lines which aren't really my thing. However, I only had one thing and it was something I was looking for. With that in mind I just waited patiently in line. The customers in front of me had a cart full of assorted merchandise and I did not think anything of it. Until the guy in the group saw my one item and politely offered for me to go ahead of them, which I was very appreciative of and thanked him. The lady of the group obviously took notice of this and took some offense to it as well. Not saying anything directly to me, rather a lowered tone conversation with the guy in Spanish. I could almost feel she was pissed that he let me go ahead of them, oh well. I got to the register and paid for my detangler with no problem. As I was walking away towards the exit, not even passing the other registers yet, the automated recording called out the next available register for the next customers in line, which were them. Before I could continue walking off, this rude woman pretty much went around me and brushed past me so abrasively to rush to that next register. I once again didn't mind it until she decided to let out the most sarcastic, condescending, and disgusted "SORRY"s she could muster. That was when I knew she had done that on purpose. That tone of how she said it, I was all to familiar with. Where I work I deal with equally rude and nasty people of all kinds. But I know what the sarcastic sorry sounds like in the tone she said it. I cannot stand that crap, was this her idea of payback? A confrontation? Whatever, she seemed old enough to know better. I was not at work so I decided to be petty as hell in this situation. I retorted with an extremely audible... "IT'S OoOOoOKaYYyYYY!" to match her bitchy tone, loud enough for here to hear. I did not even give her the chance to respond or look at her as I walked out the door, into the parking lot and to my car, so I could get the hell away from that circus of stupidity. TL;DR - woman with a full cart gets mad at me, because her possible husband let me go first without consulting her, because I had one item. She decided to be petty and stupid at the register and I gave it to her right back. Don't enable dumbassery, folks! read more

TJ Maxx is very hit or miss depending on the store and the season. Each store is relatively different so some stores you'll find tons of stuff you like and others you will find nothing. I find this store has many things I do like. I do really love TJ Maxx -so I do continue to check out new stores and also return to ones that generally have items I like - like this one. They carry high quality and low quality items. Sometimes you have to search for the higher quality items to find them. I find that their shoe selection is generally small and they don't usually have a ton of shoes in my size. I generally find quite a few pairs of jeans at this TJ Maxx and they also have a large purse selection at a variety of price points. Overall I would say if you don't mind having to spend some time looking to find items you like, this store is worth shopping at. read more

Ive never had any issues at this TJ Maxx as far as customer service goes. It's a small store. It's close to where I live so I go here maybe once a week. The shoe section is not good. Not a big selection what so ever but then again it is small. The clothing section doesn't have any high ends brands or a run way. Cashiers have always been nice to me. Small TJ Maxx but they did have all the home items I was looking for such as glass storage containers and a bottle brush. I like that they have a jewelry case here but was very dissatisfied with the customer service. When I had identified the necklace I wanted to buy, I found that the customer in front of me had just tracked down someone on the floor because the jewelry counter employee was MIA. That tracked down person helped this lady in front of me, but instead of taking me next decided to go track down the jewelry counter employee, making me wait. When the jewelry counter employee finally showed she did show me the necklace but then proceeded to turn around and fix her hair in a mirror while I was trying to ask some questions about the piece. When I told her I wanted to buy it, she took her time rearranging other pieces in the display to take its place and then got out a huge quantity of boxes instead of just one box I needed. Right, I have nothing better to do than stand here and watch you do stuff you could easily do after I've paid and left. I tried to be nice but thought this was super rude. I understand the low prices here are achieved by low focus service, but this was really beyond. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see shiseido products here recently and always happy with the designer clothes available for good prices....But a recent incident turned me off greatly! When I first entered the store with my daughter, a young girl with a scarf and glasses kept coming near us huffing and puffing OUTWARDLY displaying agitation. I figured she was just busy and wouldn't take it out on customers directly... But I was wrong. The lady who normally works the dressing room must have been on break because when my daughter came out of the dressing room she was there, and my shy, very courteous 14 year old said she gave her the biggest attitude and rolled her eyes when she gave her the items. My daughter tends to get nervous in social situations, so when the girl did this she said that this why she hates shopping in the first place. I did not make a fuss as she had asked, but after she went outside with my husband I calmly and respectfully mentioned to who I assume to be the manager that the young women's attitude upset my daughter. The woman was nice and told me that the young lady ( with the attitude) was not feeling well. I dropped it and left. Honestly, if you cant suck it up and put on a smile, you should not work in retail. No one wants to spend their hard earned money in a place that doesn't emphasize customer service. Why would anyone stay and try on multiple pairs of clothes if you feel like a burden? Dissatisfied for sure! But I give it three stars for products and inventory. This location has moved. It's now in the plaza near the train station and Market basket on Newport Ave near the RI line. The previous location was kind of lame. I'm had hopes that this location would be better, but it is not. The only positive thing is there's a new clean store, but it seems a lot more empty. Not one employee greeted me while there and nobody really looked happy. I will not be returning. I am going to stick to Plainville and Seekonk locations. read more

Everyone is so rude here!! The dressing room lady was extremely rude she was whispering about me to another employer then this couple came in to try clothes on and while they were walking towards her she rolled her eyes and said "you've got to be kidding me" then when I was checking out the lady was so rude!! Will not be returning that's for sure. Also I got a job here a little while ago and I am so happy I decided not to take it! Do not want to be around these negative people. I've neer written a bad review in my life but these girls really bothered me and were very unprofessional. read more
