I was out in this area doing some shopping at the Emerald Square Mall and I saw this Macy's so I just had to go inside, being that Macy's is my very favorite department store. I am glad I did. The location was pretty busy with a lot of customers walking around looking at merchandise but the atmosphere was still pretty quiet and there was enough space to walk around the store comfortably which is very important to me while I am shopping in a store. They had clothing very neatly displayed with the proper price tags and sizes seemed pretty much in order on the clothing racks. There were several employees on the sales floor doing jobs such as stocking, cleaning, merchandising and assisting customers. At the time that I was there they were offering excellent sale prices on some of the items that I was interested in buying. I tried on some clothing in their very well maintained fitting room and picked out some very nice tops. Nice designs and very affordable. The help at the cashier desk was helpful and seemed to know their stuff. Parking was no trouble at all in the spacious mall parking lot. I would definitely go back to this Macy's store for some more shopping. read more

I think this mall is pretty decent. Unfortunate that there's so many empty spaces within the mall that could be utilized as great stores but it is what it is. Overall it has a lot of my favorite stores - Macy's, VS,Pink,B+bw, Hollister, Rue 21 etc. The mall itself is pretty clean inside, you can easily kill a few hours shopping and it's also a good workout as far as how much walking you can do from end to end and on 3 floors. Not much of a food court but that doesn't matter considering how many restaurants & food places are on that road. I think it's a convenient mall and will definitely continue to shop there read more

I went to Macy's in North Attleboro to purchase a watch. I had a gift certificate for $55.00. There were three woman behind the counter and no one assisted me, They were too busy talking with each other. I asked another worker where the watches were. She waves her hand and says, " over there." I get to the watches and ask the worker if I could see a watch. When I told her about the gift card and that's what I wanted to spend. She looked at me like she was really put out and said," Maybe I have a couple in that price range," I told her never mind and went to the clothes. I will never ever go back to Macy's. This Macy's needs some improvement but overall I do enjoy coming here, after I mentally prepare myself for the racks of mess I'm about to look through. This is just like any other Macy's, 3 floors with a variety of brands and shoes, clothes, jewelry, sunglasses and etc etc! The shoe section could have more selections of brands, but the associates In this area are always so nice. I don't usually shop the floors in this Macy's besides the third floor which is Macy's backstage. Here's some details; *Mess *Deals *No helpful employees. I really do love backstage because I always find amazing deals, I mean serious deals. For example my last visit I found clothing for $1.97! But warning the racks and whole area is a mess you can tell they don't upkeep with it, I mean how can you once it hits a certain point of craziness. Not Friendly To Single Fathers! I took my two early elementary school-aged children shopping today for holiday dresses. As a single father, this was a bit of a challenging task, as both girls need a little help putting on dresses, particularly ones with zippers and buttons in the back of the dress. Respectfully, I approached a sales person at Macy's to explain my challenge, recognizing that I needed to go into the dressing room with them. I was expecting that they'd point me in the direction of a family dressing room or perhaps a family restroom where we could try on the dresses. Either way, I needed their help to make sure I wasn't inadvertently offending any other customers. To my disappointment and surprise, I was flatly told no by the sales person. I asked her to repeat the question to a store manager, who repeated the same and made no attempt to even speak with me. I was told by the sales person that Macy's does not have a single place in their three-story anchor store where we could try on dresses. The only choice they offered was an added insult: That all I could do was order online instead. On the other hand, my experience was EXACTLY the opposite at the JC Penny's at the other end of the mall. Not only did they accommodate my request, but they actually thanked me for taking the time to be considerate of other customers. So, in the end, it turned out that Macy's was helpful after all...by showing me the door to a competitor who doesn't discriminate toward single fathers of little girls. Manipulation: 1) Promote credit card use. I was shopping for clothes and found many sale signs throughout the store for '30% off' but there was confusing small print that seem to suggest that I can only get the 30% off if I use a Macy's credit card. I had no intention of being manipulated into getting a Macy's credit card and didn't want to waste my time if not all items were priced fairly for all customers so I asked a sales clerk what the small print on the '30% off' sign meant. The first two sales associates didn't know and the 3rd said she 'thinks' the sale only applies to those using a Macy's credit card. I am not OK with this. The signs should be more clear--no small print, the sales associates should know what the small print means, and it is irresponsible for Macy's to use this tactic to induce people to apply for and use their credit card. Can you imagine if every company did this? We'd all be forced to have over a dozen credit cards or else be charged extra. 2) Buy 1 get the 2nd for 50% off. The sign that reads this has '50% off in huge letters and the 'buy one get the 2nd for 50% off in small letters' visible only when you get there. This is common in many stores. Meant to trick you into think you're getting 50% off when really you're getting 25% off and only if you buy 2. I don't like it, and it's manipulative, but so far, it's not that big a deal. However, I didn't desire two shirts, just one. So I told the sales clerk that I wanted only one. I said, 'I'd like to buy 1 shirt for 25% off, which is the equivalent saving that others get who are willing to buy two.' She said no. In my opinion this store is just utilizing manipulation as a way to get you to get their high interest rate card. read more

Wow how the mighty have fallen. I'm beyond disgusted by the downfall of this place. The third floor says it all. Department stores can't compete anymore so they added this weird tjmaxx like section. I am not into it. I went to get spanx and all different sizes and lines and types were all mixed together in racks. No color or shape separation. It was like this at every rack. It's dirty and messy and gross and the employees didn't even acknowledge anyone. I think Macy's will be going the way of the providence Nordstrom's. read more

Have not been out shopping in over 2 years and maybe I should of waited for 2 more years. The Emerald Square mall is a graveyard. Every other store is gone. It is the past and should stay there. I grew up with Macy's and once loved going there. The salesperson could not tell us anything about our purchases. One item required a key to remove it from the case. She did not have it. There were no boxes for Christmas clothes. We spent $400 dollars to have are purchases stuffed in what looked like garbage bags. The shelves were so empty. We walked the floor 4 times to find a cashier. All of the lines were short with the same 3 people. We walked around again the line never changed. They literally could not move the line. Went to look at a chair I've seen online. I don't live nearby and had never been to that mall before. Jumped off the highway and Macy's was right there. Parked, went it, tried on some perfume. Escalator out of order so I headed toward the elevator. Only then did I learn furniture (and men's wear) were at the north end of the mall, and then gave a URL if I needed a map. I went back to the car and drove around - the wrong way apparently - but only saw the second building when I got back on the road. Folks, how about a sign on the entrance door saying what is carried there or at least say furniture is at the other end of the mall, and use an arrow pointing that way. Like this mall that this is housed in, this Macy's is horrendous and needs to close. Not only is it a ghost town and has no stock, it is a shell of its former self and just a sad state of affairs. It is separated into two locations, woman's which is a crazy three floor spot and then home and men which is two floors and empty. There are no sales people to be seen and the place is a dump. The problem with Macy's generally is their policy of scanning a return code on virtually all merchandise purchases. While in theory this makes sense, in reality it adds precious time and manual labor to the per customer transaction, resulting in longer wait times at the lines. I dare any senior executive to go to any Macy's on Black Friday and witness how this policy breaks down in reality as the transaction time is 2Xs per customer. My advice: during the holidays, ditch this policy and rely only on receipts for returns. Another free tip: have a dedicated register for all returns on Black Friday and force the inconsiderates who could return merchandise on other days to wait in line. read more

This Macy's is very uncluttered and spread out. I don't think this is an intentional design, I really think it's because they have a lack of stock. We came here to get a new business ensemble for my boyfriend. Every shirt they had on display only had one of each color, usually in a size small. Trying to get a grey V-neck sweater was just too hard, considering this is Macy's and every section is pretty much business casual. However, the people who work here are friendly enough (though a little pushy for my taste). My boyfriend was looking at collared shirts and a guy pretty much assaulted him with a tape measure to get his measurements. The measurements turned out to be inaccurate (sleeves were way too short), but he did get the neck size correct. Fitting rooms are cool if you're waiting for someone in the Men's department. They've got couches and a TV. The experience was good enough and my boyfriend walked out of the fitting room looking sexy as hell, so no real complaints here. read more

I normally shop at the Macy's in Downtown Crossing in Boston, so being in a nice, suburban Macy's is great. This store is so much cleaner and better organized than the one in Boston, which looks disheveled all the time, probably just due to the huge number of people that are in and out of the store every day. This Macy's is so much less of a cluster. I was even surprised that the Last Call section here was relatively well organized. The Alfani section was pristine! Checking out can be slow here, but I expect that at any Macy's. Note that you only have 30 days to return Last Call merchandise but regular merchandise can be returned up to a year after purchase with tags and receipt. read more

A horrendous experience. I ordered a gift online from a bridal registry and wanted to save the $12 in shipping so I decided to head to the store. I followed the instructions and went to the first floor of the department. It was a ghost town. I was bounced around from counter to counter (FIVE in total) and finally told I needed to head to the opposite end of the mall to get my gift. Finally received the gift and they didn't put a gift receipt in (even though it's clearly a gift if it's from a registry). When I requested one, they said it couldn't be done.... The only department I have gotten really good service in this store anyway is shoes, and I'm pretty sure it's because the same woman (whom I've purchased way too many pairs from over the past 15 years...Filene's and now Macy's) happens to be there every time I go in and actually knows what she is doing! - so shoe lady - this stars for you...and ONLY you!!!! So I go over the the nearby Origins counter and take a look (since I had bought some of there products in the past as gifts and only heard great things).... I look and decide, I may as we'll spend my gift cards since, I just bought a new pair of shoes (a week ago, here at Macy's!!) and I will probably not be back at the mall again until Christmas.... I pick out a body scrub and hydrating / circulation improving bar soap....as I looked a girl came over and asked if I needed help...I said no, just trying to decide what to get. She saunters off.... I turn to ask my shopping buddy to see if she thought one would be better than the other and realize she is over in cosmetics...so I start heading that way products in tow.... I literally hear screaming come from behind me and within seconds the girl from earlier is berating me saying if I want to purchase them, I must do so Now! From her! That I can not take them into another department!!! This all loud enough to make nearby shoppers stare and or stop in their tracks!! Ok, if you had said "would you like me to hold those while you browse other departments or would you like me to ring you up now" ....while explaining you can no longer ring out anywhere.....I wouldn't have been made to feel like a criminal in the middle of your store. If her shrieks hadn't scared the crap out of me and the volume hadn't drawn embarrassment level attention, I would have told her where to stick that bar soap!! WTF!?? I just want to use my stupid gift cards?! Guess I picked the wrong day to "treat" myself?!!! So yeah, I spent my gift cards...but unless Macy's learns how to properly train their employees in customer service - I doubt any future gifts will be bought there!!! We went to the men's store in the emerald square mall to get suits for the groomsmen in my wedding. Rose who works in the men's portion of the store was AMAZING. She helped us for 3 hours! She went above and beyond and helped us so much. Her humor helped us get through the stressful process of finding suits that fit everyone. She deserves the world. read more

I am very mindful, that during these times stress levels are high. However I have never had a more uncomfortable transaction experience in my life. I purchased a coat online. I went in store to return the coat, my size wasn't in store. The coat was purchased with merchandise credit and cash. Susan, the clerk helping me may have been confused with the transaction, because she charged my card again, when ordering the coat, rather than making it an even exchange. I politely pointed this out to her, she raised her voice, told me I was wrong, and the transaction was correct. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Her coworker saved my day (Jean) and said it could be fixed. Totally repulsed by this customer service. Will absolutely rethink any Macys purchases read more

This review is just for " Fine Jewelry ". I love Macy's diamonds. They have the best prices and quality in the area. They have clear sparkling diamonds, unlike other department stores that try to sell cloudy diamonds for twice the cost. The staff is what truly makes this place an enjoyable shopping experience. They know their product and make you feel like your the only customer that matters. My sales girl ( cuz she looks 18 ) Chrissy, is fantastic. She is patient and professional. I talk her ear off and God Bless her soul, she listens with a big smile each time. The manager Tiffany is so friendly and does her job better than any other department manager I have met. She is honoring a sale on a ring I love and making " a difficult time in my life" so much happier. The Macy's in the Emerald Mall location is absolutely terrible and completely mismanaged. For a store with a lot of space, the selection of quality has diminished over the years. I used to by dress pants here back in the day but there's been zero options for this now. The shoe/suit area is awfully managed as it's extremely difficult to get service. I don't know if they're always understaffed but it takes forever to get help. Like other Macy locations, it would actually be helpful if they just put out boxes of the shoes so you don't have to wait forever to ask an employee which size you need to try. My final straw with them came tonight (8/26) when I was shopping for a suit. They had a particular suit on sale so I tried on a few that came with the pants. There's a sign in the dressing room that states "Macys welcomes any alterations for the pants and will provide hemming services". After waiting forever for service in the suits area, I asked the woman about getting the pants hemmed. She said they don't provide that service anymore, despite showing her the plaque glued on the wall stating that they do. I then walked out and opted not to buy anything. All was good though because despite not taking advantage of their deal for $200, I took a ride up to Wrentham to the Perry Ellis store and got what I need for $70! Overall, do not waste your time shopping in the men's department at Macys. If their regional store manager actually cared, they'd be reading these comments and actually making upgrades but this is Macys, big national chain. I don't think their regional management would actually care if one location was a complete failure. read more

After we had decided that 9 years was a decent lifetime for that of a mattress, we decided to shop. What I have come to understand about mattress shopping is that it's a lot like car shopping: it's tedious, everyone seems to have the same thing, and everyone is willing to give you "the best price in town" (which technically isn't really all that spectacular). Yuck. After store after store, sales pitch after sales pitch, we landed with a *humph* at Macy's. The sales woman, Rosa, was very helpful and patient. She even keyed us to the upcoming SALE. Whaaaahht! *Not a HUGE selection of mattresses to choose from, but certainly one to represent every price range (from cheap-arse lodging to luxurious splurging). But usually a "plush" and "firm" option for each represented mattress. *SALE SALE SALE SALE! Holy GOD, mattresses are MAD expensive!!! Rosa knew where I was coming from; she reasoned with me, mentioning just how much time is spent trying to rest up (about 3000 hours a year!). She said that you spend money on a car to be safe, and you spend money on a mattress to be sane. That being said, there was an upcoming sale which offers 10% off (if you use your Macy's card/open a Macy's account) AND (and here's the kicker:) ZERO % INTEREST for the first year! But BEWARE, reader....if you haven't paid off that sweet 'tress in 12 months the interest rate is 26%! *Delivery and removal are NOT included (but what the heck are you going to do with that old saggy box of dust anyway?). It's worth the 60$ splurge. *When our mattress baby arrived, the delivery dudes (Chris and Luke) were crazy fast and super clean. The men RAN our mattress, on their BACKS, UP the hill and then wiggled their way down the hall and into our condo. Really respectful, polite, and nice people (woosa - the mattress shopping process is complete). Not a HUGE selection, but the sale is AWESOME. We LOVE our mattress AND the prolonged pay-off (100$ a month?...yeah, we can do that). read more

Getting married... you're going to need a registry. While Macy's is not the cheapest they offer an excellent return policy, free shipping, plenty of sales and lots of merchandise. Visit Joyce at Wedding and Gift Registry, she's the best. Friendly, out going and experienced. Have nothing but problems with this store. I ordered a Kitchen Aid mixer in store for my girlfriend's birthday and it ended up coming in used and damaged. Had them order a new one which also came in dirty. I also opened the credit card to get the additional discount and they ended up charging me the wrong amount, lied to me about how everything worked and charged me late fees for something that was completely their fault. I was shopping here with my sister and wanted to look at a purse. I had to go looking for someone to help me and when I did they were laughing and gossiping. They acted as if i was interrupting them and was bothering them. When she finally came over to help me i asked if they had the purse in black and she said "are you two together?" referring to me and my sister. and i said yes....and asked again about the bag. she then said hold on i'll be right back and then walked away AGAIN! to do something not related to the bag at all. Two stars because the customer service sucks here. Registers with no one there and you can wait there and no one comes over. You end up walking around looking for someone to give money to. Rediculous. We come here so we dont have to buy junk, and I certainly don't expect someone waiting on us hand and foot, but if a checkout is open - have someone there, or at the very least someone paying attention to it. We stood at one for three minutes with items in our hands before walking away and paying for clothing at the make-up counter; where you can't swing a dead cat without hitting an "associate".
