SHOPPING IN DOWNTOWN CANTON!…read more What a great little boutique! We arrive in downtown Canton with the intention of doing a little shopping and getting something to eat. Well apparently, we were going to be doing very little shopping because this was literally the only clothing store we saw! This little shop is perfectly located just a couple of doors down from the theater so we decided to drop in and see what they had to offer. The first thing you will notice as you enter the store is the wonderful smells emanating from the various scented items they have available: lotions, creams and candles. But wait, there is another smell layered among those beautiful scents and it is the smell of leather. Oh my! This is that leather that the little cobbler is making by hand in the back room. They have adorable sandals, boots, and leather bags of varying sizes in weathered and standard finishes. They are completely leather inside and out, unlike other options that offer a leather exterior with a vinyl lining. They reminded me of the types of accessories that would be used in a fragrance ad featuring long cotton maxi dresses, soft layers and a great pair of boots. I loved it! To complete the outfit, they also carried nice pieces of jewelry including leather options which are always a nice touch. My only problem was not having enough time to spend in the shop because we needed to eat dinner prior to attending the show. I found myself rushed and wanting to spend way more time here but was not able to do so. This is a great shop for men who have no idea what to purchase for their wives, sisters or girlfriends. It is staffed by women who can certainly steer you in the right direction. You can never go wrong with one of their oversized ponchos because women love them and they cover a "multitude of sins". They are the garment of the moment and a must have for every wardrobe. A great store with a great staff that is ready to serve you!

UGLY SWEATER HEADQUARTERS!…read more This is a small department store that I first encountered in Lakeland Plaza in Cumming. When I saw this one, I felt that this was an opportunity to have a better opinion of the store. This did not happen because this store is no different than the other one. It looks like a liquidated store that has just taken on the discarded remnants of other stores. It is just sad. The clothing and other items are just of the poorest and cheapest quality, but this is not reflected in the price. The items are priced as if they are quality items fit for sale. They have a collection of Christmas sweaters that were very cheap and unattractive, yet being sold for $30 ($9.99 would be more appropriate). Anyway, I just don't get this store and why it even exists when you have a better discounter like Ross right next door. Perhaps I am missing something but I don't think so!

It sorta sits in a dip and there is actually a wall that separates them from the businesses facing the street. One reason I like shopping here is the parking is terrific. They must of cut enough trees down to build Rome for this place because last year I came to this super Target for Black Friday and I had no problems finding a parking spot. Of course I had to park in Alaska and walk 5 more minutes but I figure I'm getting ready to spend an hour shopping at a Super Target a few hundred feet of extra walk won't kill me.
