The store is one of my favorite places to shop in Athens, since there are so few department stores left and this one has great prices. Selection:The store has constantly changing merchandise and not always everything in every size. I like the children's department and the seasonal area. Facility: It's big and clean and bright. Service: The line to check out, usually moves very quickly, and the personnel are always friendly and helpful.. Beyond terrible experience the store manager flat out lied to my face when I have been to numerous different locations and have previously worked there. I found a pair of juicy pants and I even went and found another mix match pair when she said she couldn't and she STILL refused to sell it to me Even tho I went ahead and did her job for her and found a similar item for the price check, but I guess they discriminate and decide who they will and won't honor policies for. Do go here unless you want to be scream at by the owner of the store in front of every customer in the check out line. This store is full of super people who give professional and friendly service and are kind, genuine and gracious individuals. Brooke continues to impress me and others as she greets and responds positively to each of us. Watching her interact is a testament to excellence. Frequent customer of this store, and never have I encountered such unpleasant, disrespectful, CHILDISH, unprofessional MANAGERS. ( Michelle, and Aubrey ) I had found something on clearance that didn't have a price tag, and was trying to get a price check on the fragrance oil. The cashier was beyond nice and grabbed her manager ( Michelle) I waited 5 or more minutes for her to come over as she was helping another customer. She comes over starting with a attitude and asks how i knew it was on clearance, and i stated it was missing the wood sticks that diffuses it. She then radios for someone to get a price check on another diffuser ( that isn't damaged) to get a price on, and i stated there were zero of that brand much less that fragrance and none of the other ones around were broken. She comes back and can't find any of same one so she just takes the price of one that isn't damaged and gives me a price of $8 which doesn't make sense because i bought a DECORATIVE diffuser, with the oil and sticks , for $9... in the regular isle, not clearance, so i stated it didn't make sense as the one i bought was decorative and ur telling me that's a $1 more? the damaged one was not decorative and was missing the sticks, and in -clearance-, so why would that almost match the other one? the cashier agreed with me and grabbed her again and she proceeded to ask why i don't understand and to just not get it if i don't want it. All i was trying to do was get a price check and she made it seem like I was stupid for asking a -valid- question as there was no price!! i then stated that i didn't want it and she starts laughing... like i just inconvenienced her. So i ask the cashier for her name and aubrey proceeded to come over asking what was wrong and at this point i wasn't gonna argue as i can get a diffuser with the sticks for $8. i told her nothing was wrong but maybe have your managers not be such a b****. michelle proceeded to start laughing from 4 registers down, so i get my stuff and leave. i leave and realize i left my keys so i go back inside and aubrey is at door and i state that i left my keys and she goes " let me grab MICHELLE to help you, so i go to the side of registers waiting for her to come over and she wouldn't even move from her spot she proceeded to raise her voice and asks me what i had left as if she literally wasn't just handed my keys from cashier. she makes ne describe them ( no biggie) but then proceeded to lay my keys down in the middle of isle on register for met to grab them instead of bringing them to me like a PROFESSIONAL manager would do. i could care less ab the diffuser it's the way the situation was handled and to have immature "managers" being your "customer service". Highly disappointed and disgusted of your management. read more

This is another typical TJ Maxx location. Nothing is too special or unique about this location. The store was well organized as can be. The associates can be seen walking the floor tidying up. I didn't personally have any interaction with an employee, but I did overhear the accessories employee providing great customer service. Although TJ Maxx is in a large shopping complex, parking can be a pain on the weekends when college students are out shopping. On most days, there will be spots available, not close, but there will be spots. read more

Came to this store to return a Foreo. The cashier Connie was shocked because in the receipt the Foreo was identified as a beauty product and therefore thought it was a fraudulent return because the Foreo has a charger! She then contacted Marcus because I was doing a return to a card that I had canceled the week before. I had the card with me but I had canceled it... According to Marcus and the manager, the return policy states that the return has to go to the same card I paid with but after reviewing the in-store and the online policy, there was no such policy. After informing Taylor, the manager, that there was no such policy, she reported that it was under her store policies. I have also made a return like this at Marshall's and a different TJMaxx and somehow Taylor thought that she could reprimand the managers for doing so. Consistency is absent. read more

I'm the search high and low type when it comes to finding that "great deal". But it seems that time after time I begin my search at the Home Goods store and circle right back, after comparison shopping, to make the purchase from Home Goods. This store is definitely one of my new favorites. Oh, and the service is good too. Happy, smiling associates. All of which make a pleasant shopping experience. But, be mindful of the time you go shopping. The store is in a plaza that shares its parking with the movie theater. So, needless to say, Friday and Saturday evening shopping is a real hassle. read more

I like this TJ Maxx/HomeGoods location and will go out of my way to visit. It's clean, organized and the merchandise rotates through pretty quickly, so there is always something new. The only drawback to this location is the limited and tight parking. read more

Where, oh where, would our "starving students" be without the deep pockets of parents? I am a real sucker for the "needs" of our two children in college and often, admittedly, enjoy shopping for some of these "needs" with our Athens student and today was no exception. She had a list of places she needed to go, as did I. So we hit the road running. This TJ Maxx HomeGoods store was on the list and we had a great time checking out the prices on clothing, purses, luggage, bedding, picture frames, glassware and dishes, furniture, and just about anything else you can think of. In some cases, the prices aren't so great and you can certainly get similar items for less elsewhere. In other cases, you might be running up and down the aisles yelling, "Such a deal!!!" This is a good store to check if you are looking for that different sort of gift for someone. You may find it here. We purchased a couple of decorative pillows (now that's certainly a necessity!), a cookbook stand, and a wastebasket. Best of all we came away with a day of mother/daughter camaraderie that I wouldn't trade for the world. We parents are, however, waiting for graduation days somewhere on the horizon. read more

This place is all about home goods. Yea, they have some clothing (mostly women's) and a large purse section and shoe section (also mostly women's), but this store is all about their random 'home goods'. On a low budget, you can definitely make some moves in here. read more

Always clean and organized. Its also nice because home good its on the other side of the store so you get a 2 in 1 kind of shopping day.

I love this place. The prices are amazing and I always buy great clothes from them. Even their shoes are good quality. Every Christmas TJ Maxx is my go-to store. The lines go by fast and the workers always ask if I need anything. The only thing I would fix is the cleanliness of the place. It could be dusted and does need some organization. The employees are pretty rude. I accidentally spilled some water on the floor, and the sales associate freaked out on me. I work in customer service, and I never shame the customer for spilling something. It happens. She embarrassed me so badly that we left without buying anything. read more

I have to say that my experience with my mother in law the last time we were there a couple days ago was AWFUL! The cashier named Bee or Bea was COMPLETELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL! When we were in line she came up and said next and I turned around and went to grab my stuff she then yelled out NEXT as I was putting my stuff down. As I was pulling out my card to pay the told me the wrong amount but it was too late. After I paid for my stuff my mother in law was getting her stuff and she looked at her and said are you gonna buy something? ( I mean seriously? She just took her stuff out of the cart and was trying to hand it to her ) anyway we found a purse she really loved it was an MK purse but had a damage on it and she asked if there was a possibility if a discount since it was the only one and she said 19 percent but after a minute of trying to decide we came to the conclusion that we would wait to find another one so she says nevermind that's okay. This cashier Bea took it from her and said that's fine we will just find someone who can AFFORD IT. OMG I was furious that she spoke that way to her. She said it loud enough for the people withing in line behind us to react in a small gasp. It was unprofessional and rude! She then went on to tret the reminder of the people in line in a similar way. VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL! I'm not sure what her problem was but she either needs to be retrained in customer service or reprimanded! We were both so embarrassed we will not be going back! read more

I Love love love TJ Maxx my only complaint is the air conditioning. It is always so hot and I tell someone who then will talk into the mic and ask someone to call someone @ a store in another state who operates the system from their. In other words they can't control the air from inside this store. I have wrote to the head office and told them if it was cooler I would spend more money.
