The whole time he was communicative and reliable--he arrived exactly when discussed and wrapped up the work within the time frame he estimated. We will absolutely call Juan again for any repairs around our house.

There was some paint finger prints on the siding after the job was done, but brought it up to the contractor and they were able to clean it up afterwards.

They painted all trim (not just updated sills) to ensure matching exterior. There was a hitch with the electrical work, but they were patient and worked with us to determine an acceptable solution. While the handyman was professional the work just kind of looks sloppy and not worth the price paid. Ultimately the work got done but the quality of the work was lacking especially for the price paid. Totally disappointed! Edited review: the customer service is excellent. Responded very quickly and offered to come the same day, on a Saturday, no less, so we appreciated…read morethat. We needed curtains hung. I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.
