Best Sisig taco to date for me!
    Sherwin T.

I'm sorry for Vengo to leave the Kapitolyo hood, but hot damn... I welcome Titto's rendition of Sisig Tacos I won't say anything to where it may beat out Tipsy's but give it a try. That quail egg yolk runs!!! Meanwhile, the place is well designed. Some parking at the front. Free valet if any. Vibrant walls not overly designed with colorful murals and graffiti. Single toilet per male and female. The place is well ventilated and lots of natural light comes through during the day time. Outside of the entrance, they have a lettering pieces, "Life is Better with Tacos." Hence, sensed they're staking their claim to be the aficionado of tacos in the area. That, and since Vengo left for the next hood over... good timing. I tried their Sisig, Salted Egg, and Beef Barbacoa tacos. I ranked them in that order. The most flavors came from the Sisig! Let that quail egg run a bit before diving in for life. The Salted Egg had a unique flavor. Had the consistency somewhat of uni. It's good. The Barbacoa was okay. I wasn't sure what kind of flavor it was going for. Again, I would've just killed 3 Sisig tacos haha For drinks, I ordered their Cucumber Elderflower, and asked if they don't put the sugary syrup (and they helped me out with that request). Tips... don't out too much citrus (lime or Calamansi) on your tacos. Don't let it drown the flavor. Same goes for the sauces that they have handy on the side... try it beforehand without it. I hope that helps your new experience of Mexicana in the Kapitolyo area. Viva!

Food is yummy! This place is pretty legit for Tex mex and Latin cuisine and for a place that's somewhat fusion. I used to have the carne asada fries in California and am always on the look out for it, and this place makes it pretty good (but no guacamole :( ) on the bright side they have horchata (try it) which is pretty rare to find in common Tex mex places in manila.

I must admit, the name is really catchy that I was immediately drawn to it and try whatever they…read morehad to offer. I'm not really familiar with Mexican food but for some reason, by the looks of it, I had a feeling that I might enjoy this one. The Chalupa, their main product, looked a lot like a taco but bold prints on one of their signage clearly emphasized that it's not. I ordered their Beef Chalupa which contained beef (duh), veggies, cheese and other good stuff. You can even choose to put their special homemade hot sauce especially formulated to competent the soft pita-like chalupa. So if you're a fan of tacos and nachos with all the meat and special, you should definitely give this one a shot. You won't regret it. I didn't. Note: Say Chipotle (chi-pot-lei)

I first saw a stall of theirs at SM Hypermart (but I think that closed down), we wanted something different from our usual merienda (fresh lumpia, potato corner, pizza ollo, etc) beside the nearby stalls. I was so happy to have found it at the megamall food court, they also carry the iced tea brand All My Tea and it goes so well with their cheesy beef chipotle, for chicken lovers, you can opt to have chicken chipotle instead, both taste super good anyway). What amazes me too is that the customers get to see how they prepare the dough, sprinkling flour over it and then dipping it into the fryer. Such an interesting process and it's always nice to know how my food is being (safely) cooked.

They have some vegetarian choices as well. So, anyone can eat here! I enjoy their burritos and the quesadillas. The burger isn't bad either! The best part of eating here is that every table is equipped with red and white sauce that adds just the right flavor to their food. The red sauce gives it a kick while the white sauce offers a garlicy note. The prices in this joint are reasonable because every time you walk out, you will feel full and youre going to want to come back to try their other dishes. I know that ill have to go back so i can try their pulled pork burrito! Just make sure that when you come here you dont expect Tex Mex because they are straight up mexican! I can tell because their tacos are soft as opposed to the U-shape tacos made popular by the West.

I went on a Saturday evening with my aunt and two of my brothers, but the Megamall branch wasn't even half full, but that only meant faster service and less antsy staff. I wish they at least put on some music - it's not much to fuss over, but I think it'd attract more customers at least. I availed of combo 4 - a burrito and a taco - whereas my brothers got a combo 5 (burrito and a quesadilla) and regular San Francisco Style burrito (double the meat). We all at least got to try out each other's dishes. I enjoyed my grilled chicken burrito, and my beef taco was crisp and didn't fall apart like cheaper end tacos. My brother's quesadillas weren't anything to fawn over about. The San Francisco Style ground beef burrito was definitely meatier, but I don't think it really needed to be to make you full. Mexicali has great Mexican food, but be prepared for the gas to follow your meal.

The place always has a long line every time we pass by. Imagine our surprise when, even on a Monday, the place was packed! We ordered Silantro's Calliente Wings (Php170, 3.7USD) for our starter. Their Lucha Tacos is one of their best-sellers. We had the Medio which offers double choice of meat in 2 taco shells (option for soft or hard shell, we went for the the soft shell) for only Php95 (2USD)! We ordered the lengua and lamb. For the adventurous, there is ox stripe. But, they also have chicken and beef for those who want to play it safe. Go for the lengua, really good! I also had a Mojito (Php90, 1.9USD), one glass was definitely not enough. The only thing we didn't like about Silantro was their service. It took them quite a long time to serve our food. But, even with the waiting time, the food is worth it. I'm going back to this place with my friends. Next time, I'll be ordering their Unli Mojito! :)
