As this was an emergency, he said he would fit me in if I could come right away. When I got there, he was finishing up another car and I had a short wait. Alberto quickly diagnosed that the tire reported by Onstar was not the problem. Previous tire rotation by another repair shop was not completed properly and the wrong tire was being reported. A simple check of the tire pressure of all four tires led him right to the problem tire. There was a nail in it. Alberto fixed it in short order, rotated my tires and made sure they were properly recorded in the Onstar for future diagnostic purposes, and I was on my way. Charge was minimal for the work he completed. Alberto is a no nonsense kind of guy and very busy, but he is great to do business with.

He then told me he would have my vehicle ready at 8:00 AM and ended the phone call. A better mechanic PAID for my car to be towed to his shop at 8 am the next day. As a customer, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask a mechanic what they diagnosed, what caused the problem, what repair is being recommended, and whether they are equipped to perform that repair. I was not trying to argue or disrespect anyone. I was trying to make an informed decision about my own vehicle. My biggest concern throughout this experience has been the lack of clear communication and explanation regarding the diagnosis. I would have appreciated straightforward answers instead of feeling like my questions were being treated as a problem. After waiting for a while in my city, I found a car available with an estimated arrival date to this Toyota with a listed price (along with tax and fees thar will be charged) that I was within my budget. I put my money down It was delayed two days before the eta due to production issues. My dealer Myles informed me that he can try and do a trade with a different dealer but the price might be marked up as they need to present something "enticing" enough for the other side to accept the trade. I decided to just wait for the original car I put money on. The day of pick up, I took a bus from out of town to make my purchase. Upon arriving to the dealership, the pricing I was given was marked up 10k more than the listed price. I was very taken aback and blindsided. I was told that due to the car being rare, it was marked up and if I didn't pay for all these extra (OPTIONAL) add-ons, they will NOT sell the car to me. After going back and forth, I had 3k dropped off the price and agreed to pay. I had no choice. Come to find out, they THEMSELVES at the dealer ALREADY installed all these add ons after receiving the car without discussing this with me prior to me coming HOURS from out of town. STRAIGHT SHADY. They knew how stressful it was for me waiting without a car, knowing I had to bus from out of town, knowing how much I'd been waiting for this car and used that to play me. This is not no couple hundred dollars. It's thousands. With no heads up so I can fully make a confident decision prior to coming. SHADY. BUSINESS.
