Family trust lacks customer service skills to provide clients with positive experience. I moved…read moreabout an hour away from the closest branch but kept the account open since I had so many things connected to it. The account had unauthorized transactions recently. I learned getting someone on the phone or to message in a timely manner is impossible. No local branch numbers can be found, just a generic local number that takes you straight to a phone maze or an 800 number that does the same. Log on the app and message them... almost an entire business day later with no response. Now I am going to have to take off work and drive to the branch to take care of an issue that a bank that is customer oriented could have handled over the phone. I have had much better experiences from credit unions in different time zones than I have had with Family Trust. It seems Family Trust is no longer a small hometown bank but a large corporation. If I want a large bank, I'll go with a nationwide firm again. At least they answer the phone, and their chats don't automatically disconnect. Anyone that is looking for a customer-oriented bank will have to continue looking as Family Trust is not that bank in my experience. I will not name other local options, but they treat there customers much better.

I had my car refinanced with them and they did an excellent job, and I got a wonderful interest rate for that and for my personal loan. I highly recommend this bank.
