I never write a review. BUT when a group of people takes care of their clients as well as NewtonCPA has done for me and my husband. I'm compelled to make sure as many people know about it as possible. From the front line is Allison, who is exceptional in her kindness, understanding and consideration. From after hours responding to emails or to following up just to see if you have any questions.... Really, who does that? Allison does... To Matthew, Tax Manager (who took on a challenge like ours) came thru with his knowledge and expertise in filing multi state returns. AWESOME. He will always ask questions just to be sure ....I LIKE that. Never ASSUME. He gets it! And finally but not least is Randy! Not only the owner, but he values and stands with his team to accomplish the goals set for the client. Everyone is in the loop with communicating, setting the agenda and accomplishing those goals for the BEST end result. THATS a team. And he values that, you can tell! I've been using Newton for years now, they know what they're doing and you can't ask for more than that from a professional public service. Not to mention that this group of people is highly personable. This isn't your typical operation where they wont care about your existence once the books are done. They actually KNOW me and I know them, heck Jesse's been at my house (home office) before, helping me with my quickbooks messes. I wouldn't even think to ask a revolving door tax service (you know who I'm talking about) that. If there is ever a service that deserves the whole rating its this bunch. Highly recommended to keep this necessary evil stress free, unless of course you're cheating on your taxes, but that's out of their hands. read more

Conscientious and equitable reviews are the envy of all enterprise. I have confabulated with Randy Newton for over 20 years and strongly endorse his magistral work. Indeed, I have recommended his company to all family and friends as well as medium to small businesses. The reviews are consistent and congruous with the work ethic of his staff and energy of it's principal. Shakespeare claimed one could be 'as chaste as ice, as pure as snow' and not escape calumny. Perhaps he should have employed Newton CPA to see his words were incorrect. 6 stars, I would give, if it were available. read more

NewtonCPA makes what can be a stressful time of year a complete breeze. I never worry for a second about my taxes. I know they will be done promptly and accurately. The online tool allows you to upload all tax documents within seconds and you're done! That is so important if you live on the west coast like I do. It's not just tax season that's important but I can go to them with tax questions throughout the year. They always respond to even the smallest of questions and I'm sure with a smile on their face. My husband and I would like to formally thank Newton CPA for completing our 2014 tax return! We personally worked with Mr. Mercurio and everything was done in a professional and personable manner. Mr. Mercurio wanted to make sure that we understood everything there was to know about our return by explaining in detail and if we seemed unsure or unclear, there was no hesitation to repeat the information or try explaining in a different manner. Personally, I have never had an issue reaching Scott to discuss something or any of his colleagues via phone or email. That being said, if it is Jan - May I only ask time sensitive questions where I need an immediate answer or are pertinent to our current tax filing. If there are any other items I want to clarify or talk through something with him, I wait until it is not tax season to pick his brain. He is proactive in filing for an extension should one be needed. We've used him to file in multiple states or just NC/federal and he has done a great job. Knock on wood we've never had an issue and feel very confident with his guidance, advice, prep and review methods. Additionally, the person he referred me to to teach me quickbooks was INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and helped me learn quickbooks from the ground up. She is always available if I reach out with a query. I would recommend you avoid this place. I was looking for a…read morelocally owned business to take care of a simple straightforward 1040 personal return. I went here and my return was prepared by Ginger. Shortly after the return was filed, I had a question about the return and had to go back to have her complete an amended return. After a few weeks, I got a letter from the IRS indicating I owed MORE money. When I called them I learned Ginger was no longer there. I spoke to Michael Chase. He reviewed my documents and insisted everything was in order. I paid, the additional amount owed and then a few weeks later, another letter arrived indicating I owed more still. I contacted Mr Chase again and he suggested I get in contact with the IRS. I decided to consult a CPA who specializes in TAX who contacted the IRS. It turns out the amended return was never filed. Never any follow-up from Mr Chase, never an apology.
