Great training method. Good to stay in good shape. Love going over and training with my Daughter.

Without a doubt, this is the best gym I've ever been to. I've tried several other gyms, but never found one that I liked or one that I enjoyed going to on a regular basis. From day one, Title Boxing stood out from all of the rest and had me hooked from my first class! I joined Title Boxing over two years ago and it was honestly one of the best decision I've ever made. Not only is it an amazing workout, but I'm learning skills that I will have with me for the rest of my life. Kevin, the club manager, is a great person and always very friendly when I walk in the door. He's also a helpful trainer and is always very encouraging! Aaron, the regional manager, it's also fantastic. His experience and expertise is remarkable and he does a great job both coaching and managing. I always get excited when Aaron subs in for a class, because I know it's going to be a good one! All of the Boxing trainers are incredible, but a few of my favorites are Haylee, Manny, Brady, and Cody. Every trainer has their own unique style, so it's fun to go to a variety of different classes. I've loved the classes so much that I started investing in one-on-one personal training to learn kickboxing with Haylee. I cannot say enough good things about her and how much I have loved training with her! She's an amazing coach and an excellent teacher. I've learned so much working with her and look forward to every single session. If you're thinking about trying a boxing fitness gym, this is your place. I was extremely nervous to go in for my trial class two years ago, but I'm so glad I did because this place has truly changed my life. Huge thank you to all the staff at Title Boxing for what you do for all of your members! You all have such a positive impact on every person you work with and I cannot thank you all enough. :-)

Sweaty after class!!! But clearly appreciated the challenge!

And I said no, so he said "oh you didn't send an email or anything and just came in" and I said yeah I was just going to drop in. Then he said "yeah Teresa isn't going to let you workout, you have to sign a waiver and pay a drop in fee and it's only open gym now so..." which I know that I have to sign a waiver and pay I was willing to do that, and I didn't care if it was open gym I just wanted to get a workout in. So I just walked back outside and had to call an Uber back to my hotel. I've been doing CrossFit for a couple years and I've been to a lot of different gyms in different areas and 90% of the time the owner/coach is super friendly and I'll get a waiver signed and maybe pay a drop in fee, some gyms don't even do drop in fees because it's just one or two days. I know it's stupid and not a big deal, but it's just irritating because the CrossFit community is supposed to be supportive and tight knit and when shit like that happens it just really irritates me. The guy was just really rude and condescending for no reason and that shit just pisses me off. Maybe the owner is nice but idk

Kurt, the owner, and Coach Amy are the kindest, most motivated, and cheerful coaches I have ever met. I received personal training from Amy and also attended group classes led by both coaches as well. Both trainers are kind and approachable--no drill sergeant mentality. They will meet you where you are in your fitness journey. In classes, although it is a group setting both coaches do an amazing job at keeping a pulse on each individual. In group classes, Kurt seemed to be aware of and know each person so though you were in a group setting, it felt like a private session because you got individual attention! The man is a plethora of knowledge in any aspect pertaining to health wellness and fitness! I also appreciated Kurt's generous feedback and recognition if he ever was in the gym or even walking by during a personal training session with Amy. Amy was my personal trainer and I saw her twice weekly. She is hands down the best personal trainer I've ever had and she became a friend over time. Amy is incredibly knowledgeable in strength & mobility as it pertains to fitness. She is always learning new things and setting an example as she challenges herself. It was very motivating to see Amy completing her own workouts in our group classes as well. I appreciated how validating Amy was--if something doesn't feel right or if I was confused or overwhelmed, Amy was right there ready willing and able to coach me through it by explaining, demonstrating, or even encouraging. She gets to know you and your individual needs and your personal goals...knows just how far she can push you safely. I left my sessions feeling empowered and successful. Amy also encouraging you to listen to your body and share any concerns so she can help you find solutions whether it be modifications, additional exercises or stretches. Amy came prepared and had a plan for every single one of my sessions having considered what we accomplished previously, where we are heading, considering recommendations my chiropractor from next door gave her, and investing her own personal time outside of our sessions ahead of time to create the right plan just for me. She planned my individual workout for me and I saw her commitment and dedication in doing the same for every single one of her clients. Her availability and followup were impeccable--only a text away, understanding, and never annoyed, distracted, or too busy. My experience at Profitness with Amy & Kurt has been life changing. These people are genuinely vested in each member and their well-being. Cant say enough good things about Profitness--Invest in yourself and go check them out!!! Their Instagram is full of good stuff as well if you want a sneak peak: @pro_fitness_training

And despite being up since 9 AM (which is early for me on a weekend, k?), I actually want to workout right now at my new gym: Los Campeones. *Note: I don't really drink energy drinks, and I'm pretty sure -- since I'm so hype on caffeine -- my typing could annihilate the world record. I'm. So. Not. Sleepy. #editingthisreviewisabitdifficult Before I get into Los Campeones, for reference, below are the different types of gyms I've worked out at in my lifetime: A) THE NO-NONESE GYM: With tons of free weights and machines, people visit there to get their swole-on and give hella stink-eye to peeps that mess around doin' nothin'. (Make sure your playlist is on point, playa! Ain't no time for that!) It's usually owned by someone older, yet hella strong. B) CORPORATE GYM: Both Lifetime Fitness and LA Fitness fall under this umbrella. Sure, the degrees of fancy vary, but these types of gyms usually offer classes of some sort. Overall, their membership prices are significantly more expensive. C) CROSSFIT GYM: Can be pretentious and cultish. Classes occur only at certain times and the monthly price may cause you to reconsider splurging while buying groceries. (But price may not matter, since you'll likely be eating paleo anyway.) Benefits: Short time and high intensity workouts do increase overall fitness -- and your booty will be more "apple-bottom" like; however, chances for injury may increase. D) YOGA CHAIN: I was the sweaty guy doing the "tree pose" in the back and falling everywhere. (BTW, there's usually that one person who farts and ruins it for errone.) Los Campeones falls under Category A, and it's the type of gym I prefer. At first glance, it might resemble a Snap Fitness. You know, a place that has plenty of treadmills, climbers, barbells, benches, racks, and free weights aka the bare necessities. But what separates this place from others is their basement. It's covered in fake grass and ideal for specialized high-interval workouts, swinging kettle bells, and other activities that usually require more room. I love it. People go there to workout. Ish is serious, ya'll. Aside from the gym itself, I love their low prices: -$45/ month (automatically deducts from your account). -$55/ month (opting not to use auto-pay). - $65/ month (for couples). Some other costs exist, such as the yearly maintenance fee (which is over $50, I think). Regarding the parking situation, it's kind of difficult. This Los Campeones location resides on one-ways, and their tiny lot fills up during peak hours. I suggest parking on Blaisdell Avenue or 28th on the left (north) side.

With Vital Pursuit, I knew the first day it was different then anything I'd encountered. Since…read morethen, many of my ideas of fitness, and exercise... have been dissolved as misguided. On my first session I asked my trainer about a technique on doing bicep curls... and he said "it depends on whether you want to look strong, or be strong". Given that he trains pro athletes as well as me, kids, and every day people, he could have trained me for either answer... but in time I realized I wanted *neither*. Rather, I want healthy movement and capability for my physical hobbies/requirements. I want to move like a panther, rip through trees like a gorilla, and live as long as a redwood. With help from Vital Pursuit, I've found my *actual* idea of health -- and not a magazine's idea of how to achieve health. Instead of no pain no gain, and someone shouting, or "boot camping," imagine being told over and over "slower", "less weight", and "fewer workouts" and instead always targeting the "minimal effective dose"... in time what remains are intentional and therapeutic workouts that can be as difficult as my will allows on that day (most days, not a lot, but sometimes I'm in the mood to dig deep)... The sessions are filled with simple and relatively easy patterning of movements with less weight than my ego would prefer; but with corrections to subtleties of form that moves many exercises toward more full body connection - The coaching on these types of minor changes can really seem like magic. For example, I once couldn't believe that planks on finger tips would require me to tighten my core more, apparently due to the chain of muscle and fascia along that route. From my fingers to my core?! I couldn't believe it, but in this case rather than argue, I was asked to just try it. Turns out... that tension in a finger plank *does* require more core strength to support it. Try it now if you want!... and maybe also see that the way the body tissue connects is not being taught in traditional places, but it helps to have a trainer that has invested years in researching and implementing the knowledge. Occasionally, I get curious, and I do something from the past like a curl or a bench press or squat -- juuuust to see if I'm *really* getting stronger at that stuff too -- and I'm amazed at how I'm stronger at all those things than when I focused on those exercises. How? How?!!! And if I ask, "how?" my trainer will describe just how on cellular level, system level, evolutionary level, psychological level... Also my whole family trains there. My wife for running performance -- and also my kids (which he's a terrific role model for heath and exercise). What a gift to them to learn early that there are fitness experts just as there are teachers, lawyers, and doctors -- and if you happen to find those very rare gems of skill vastly different from their peers, it can save your life. I get that this testimony is a small data set, but both daughters have had great reversals in scoliosis curvatures... one can't be sure what would've been if they hadn't trained with Vital Pursuit, but my trainer was already informed about scoliosis, and then invested more time and research to help my girls. I've literally watched bones slowly move back into place that can't be explained otherwise (and is quite rare to happen for folks with spinal curvature). Big talk, I know -- and Vital Pursuit's trainer(s) doesn't usually make speeches about how different their approach and results are -- probably because that's said *all* the time in this industry. But also because my trainer is a kind, curious, humorous, and has and intense interest in helping others -- and I think he tries not to come off as over zealous. There's really no way to know until trying I suppose - and for me I knew right away, for what that's worth. Vital Pursuit has always been helpful - be it for exercise, nutrition, stress management -- he understands we bring a body *and* mind to the session, and recognizes that both can be healed by movement.
