Can I give 6 stars? This gym is amazing! The vibe is…read morenon-intimidating, supportive, and fun! The instructors are skilled and hilarious and somehow make doing planks fun. They also make everyone feel welcome. I've only been for Pilates classes but have been to several of them and loved them all. Pilates classes tend to draw a female crowd which can be intimidating but this studio couldn't be further from that. Everyone is welcoming, no one cares what you wear (Lulu who? Wear your favorite t-shirt), and every skill level is accommodated. They have 4 reformer machines so for classical reformer classes, they have 4 spots. I typically go over lunch and book ~5 days out and usually don't have an issue getting a spot. They use the MindBody app and have their own app as well so booking classes is easy! They use a waitlist and most times I've been on the waitlist, I get added to the class. The instructors mix things up and keep it interesting with fun music! I've been to reformer classes elsewhere with soft, soothing music and it nearly put me to sleep. Not here! Expect 80s jams from Jean, Lizzo from Andrea, and the Doobie Brothers (or Beyonce!) from Ruth. They have a Pilates Circuit class that combines the reformer, jump board, tower, chair, mat, TRX, and more. I haven't done the same workout in a Circuit class once. Circuit classes can have 12 (or maybe even 16) people in a class which is super fun and keeps the energy in class moving. The studio has cubbies for your belongings, a bathroom, towels, and a shower. They have a parking lot with maybe 10 spots and tons of parking spots along the street. I haven't had an issue with parking but they are next door to Psycho Suzi's so on a summer Saturday, give yourself extra time to park. Upstairs they have the "Treehouse" where they hold barre, Pilates, and yoga classes. The back wall of the studio is all windows that face the Mississippi. They also have the "Basement" where they have open gym and weight classes. They even have open gym times in the "Treehouse" with the Pilates equipment! Their prices are wonderful! Your first week is free so definitely try that. I did and 6 months later, am still going to classes. Your first month of unlimited classes is $59 which is INSANE for Pilates. Their memberships get you any class - reformer, yoga, kettlebells, whatever! PLUS unlimited access to open gym times. After the intro month, their prices and membership options vary but are still some of the most affordable options I've seen. They have a 12-class-a-month option for $135 which means each class is $11.25 - for reformer classes! I've seen studios charge $35 for one class. They host free outdoor workouts in the park, bike rides, and "Planks & Dranks" events at local bars. If you're looking for great workouts, a supportive workout community, and affordable classes, try a class at NE Fitness. I suggest the Pilates Circuit Class with Andrea to get you started. See you there!

This was my first visit for the purpose of volunteering at USA Swimming Junior National Championship. Parking can be a challenge for visitors. There is a nearby parking garage and very limited surface spaces. The area around the pool was clean. The building although dated to possibly the 70's is in great condition. The majority of the facility is the competition pool used by the University of Minnesota Swim team. The facility is nicely maintained. However, faculty and students can use the pool. The Olympic size competition pool is 50 meters with movable bulkhead, platform diving and well. The aquatic complex consist of approximately 145,000 gallons of swimming capability. The Long Course pool has eight lanes for competition.. The spectator area is expansive and spans the entire length of both sides of the pool and well. The public locker room area is large and pretty clean. There were two malfunctioning items. Great facility and hope to return for another event in the near future.

I would go as far to say that their services are better than Sydney's Olympic Park Aquatic Center. The Rec has honestly changed my life for the better. In my experience, the machines have always been clean and plenty to go around for everyone to work on any muscle or work on cardio. It can get a bit crowded at peak times; there's always space for everyone, even if you gotta wait a bit for a specific machine.

My favorite part about this gym is the community feel. There are a ton of regulars from diverse backgrounds that have been going to this gym for years and it is to no surprise -- of all the places I've been to in the Twin Cities, the owner and staff at this location go out of their way to make clients feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend!

A very convenient location. I have lived in NE Minneapolis my whole life and have not found a better gym. Can't beat a gym that is open 24/7. I love the motivation mantras and workout routines that are written on the white board by the back door! I am a runner, but strength training at the gym is an important secondary compliment to running. (As well as yoga, but that is a whole different story for another day) Snap fitness fulfills that need! Everyone is nice and easy going when it comes to asking if you are using the machine, how many sets you have left, reminding you to take the weights off the bench press, or just letting you know if you are using a machine/bench. Signing up for another 6 months (+1 free 7th month) was quick and painless. Photo coming...

When I…read morestarted, I was pre-diabetic, and suffering from plantar fasciitis and osteoarthritis in my knees that made it painful for me to participate in the sports and activities I love. Since then, I've dropped over 50 pounds, lost eight inches around the waist, and gotten back to hiking and pickle ball and golfing without pain. When I went for my annual physical a few months ago, it was the first time in fifteen years that the results came back clean - every result was in the normal range. Cholesterol and blood sugars were way down. I hired Amy as my trainer because she would come to my home, and train with me in the garage on the equipment I own. Dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX, box jump, wall sits, etc. Every workout is different. She is patient, quick to offer modifications when something's not right, and keeps a close eye on form to ensure I perform the moves correctly. She knows how to push, too. I never knew there were so many variations of plank exercises, squats and lunges. She's often recognized before I have that I am capable of doing far more than I realize, and it's worked. She's turned me into a lover of Bulgarian split squats! I'm healthier, stronger and more fit than I've been in decades, and I credit Amy. She's even helped with diet and nutrition, and turned me onto healthier foods, and when and how to use protein shakes maximum effect. In other words, I'm a big fan, and wholeheartedly recommend her training services for anyone who is serious about making health and fitness a bigger part of their lives.

In 2022, I realized that I, 73, should be working on my own strength and conditioning in order to assist him as well as maintaining my own quality of life. For four years I have been working with Amy twice a week and Andy continues working with her once a week. We began with in-home visits but Covid forced us to virtual sessions via FaceTime. FaceTime has proven to be the perfect situation, especially since her recent move to Minneapolis. Her relocation went seamlessly for us and we continue as if she still lives in Pleasanton. Amy tasks us with personally designed workouts every session, making certain we're performing the moves correctly for maximum benefit, and offers valuable advice on diet and nutrition. She continues to research new and challenging exercises for us, pushing us to continually improve our strength, conditioning, balance and endurance. Her help has enabled us to continue to travel, enjoy our grandchildren and just feel better. We highly recommend our friend and trainer extraordinaire to anyone looking for a guide to better health.
