I ended up making an appointment for an inspection at the Tires Plus store on Buckwalter Road in Royersford Pennsylvania. I used to go to Mavis tire but my neighbor suggested Tires Plus, so I decided I would give it a try. I've been sooo disappointed. I had an appointment at 2:30 on Friday for an inspection and oil change. They said they were backed up. I called them back later and they said they won't be able to get to it until tomorrow, Saturday. I called around noon and then around 1:30, on Saturday. They said they still hadn't gotten to it. Then when I called back around 2:30 or so, they said they were finally getting to it. This is 24 hours after my initial appointment!! I have never had this happen anywhere in all of my life and I'm going to be 68 years old next month. Also I told them to call my landline at least five times or more. I don't get audio notifications on my cell phone. I prefer the landline as I have an answering machine and they could leave a message. Well come to find out around 3:30 on Saturday, they called my cell phone. I didn't find out till a half hour later, when I happened to pick up my phone. On top of that they said I needed four new tires and the car won't be done until Sunday!! Two days after I dropped it off! On top of this I needed to use the bathroom when I first went there on Friday. That bathroom in the reception area was sooo dirty it was totally embarrassing. I should have taken a picture of it. The sink looked like someone poured oil down it. The toilet was totally dirty from urine and feces!!! There were even spiders and spider webs in the corner. The place didn't look like it was ever cleaned! I can't even imagine using that toilet. A total embarrassment to say the least! Never again!!! read more

I can not express my gratitude to the manager of this Tires plus. I called on 11/6 at 4:30pm (they closed at 6pm) begging for them to replace my tire as I was a candidate facing an election the next day with multiple polling places). She promised me nothing but had me give her all my tire information. She, again, couldn't promise anything but would try her best. We arrived at about 5:15 after waiting for the tow truck driver and 20 minutes later I was on my way. I can NEVER express my gratitude or how much the manger's help meant. read more

Stay away from them I brought my jeep in for an oil change few days maybe a week later smelled a burning oil smell. Called and filed a compliant with their department. Brought it back and they informed me that the oil adapter was cracked. They quickly stated we want to make this right since and would love to fix it for $450 and I was like nope. Called back to file another complaint about this. It wasn't cracked when I brought it in. Days later I get a call from an area manager, after speaking they stated they would fix it at their cost. Fast forward three days later the same manager called and now said they won't be fixing I should take it back to the dealership. They claim they will reimburse me once it's fixed. Haven't heard anything about that. So people if I were you go elsewhere. read more

I took my car in for 4 tires on sale. Initially I was going to drop off the car but decided to wait for the tire installation. I was willing to wait for a while, but during my wait, a man came in off the street, with no appointment, and wanted an oil change done in about 45 minutes. He was also going to wait for his car. By that time, I had been waiting for 2 hours for my car and they hadn't even taken it in yet. They took this man's car in within 15 minutes of his arrival for his oil change. This man was going to wait, just like me. They should have done my car first instead of making me wait longer, since I was there first. I ended up cancelling the work on my car and just left. Worst company ever.....close by and have been going there because I had a firestone credit card. They said I needed various things done to the two cars we have. Well, this last time they steam cleaned my engine to find some alleged leak they said was there. Picked up the car and the engine light was on. Told them and then barely got home with the car. Had to have it towed to Lexus. I needed service and every time I picked up the car it felt worse than when I left it. Took to Lexus and had to have it fixed. And not told I had a leak. Had a nail in tire and this is something I usually do myself but friend told me to go here and I'll be in and out. Came in at 3pm asking if they could take a nail out of my tire. Was told they would call me back in An hour. I go to gym nearby in the meantime and still no call back. 2 hours later I come back and front desk states "I didn't forget about you". I told him it's okay I just want to make sure you didn't close because I had a trip to MD the next day and didn't want to risk driving with a nail in my tire. I live close by and asked if I should just wait and he said yeah it won't take long. Sat down in waiting room for over an hour before they even asked for keys. it's 645 and car still not done. I go outside in the pouring rain to see where my car is and it's still parked in the bay not even touched. I go back to the front desk and tell him to just forget it I can't wait wait any longer I've been waiting since 3pm to get this done. He then says ok I'll just go put air in it and I told him "no I don't want the nail getting loose" and even though I told him I was no longer interested and I'm in a rush he then lifts the car to now assess it. Have to call my family and tell them I'll now be home even later. He then comes to me and says the tire is not repairable. I asked do I need new tires and he didn't even quote me on tires or ask if I wanted new tires. I waited 3 1/2 hours for something that could have been done in 1 minute. Yelp should have a 0-star option because even one is too many. I was car shopping and stopped in here because my Mom had heard they do vehicle inspections for car shoppers. I was looking at a car I needed asap for a job I got out in the suburbs (I live in Center City). It seemed to run okay so with the owner's consent, we stopped by and they popped the hood to inspect the engine and transmission while we waited. The service was quick and the price was cheap (only $20) so I was elated when I walked out, especially after hearing the good reviews from the mechanic. I made an offer on the car and bought it a couple of days later. A day after I picked it up, the Check Engine light came on. Hmm...that's curious. And what timing! I took it to a friend's mechanic and he called me with the news - the car has transmission issues. Not only that but it needs a timing belt and the shocks will have to be replaced in a few months. I called the woman I purchased the car from and of course, she was unaware of these issues. After going back and forth a few times, it was clear I wasn't getting my money back. I called this place and they didn't take any responsibility for their evaluation. Looking back, I should have known better. The deal was too good to be true and what was I thinking trusting a bunch of high school students looking at my car. A flag went off and I ignored it for the sake of convenience - something I'll never do again. If you decide to go in anyway, peek into the garage. You'll find a group of adolescent boys who probably pluck a hair a week and call it shaving. This place is for cheap people who care more about price than quality. I took my car there to get a simple oil change and it took them two hours to complete it when I was told that it would take no more than an hour. There was no sense of urgency about this, either. The only reason that I am giving them two stars is for the fact that I was in there once before to get a tire repaired and they were nice (although it still took them a long time to repair the tire). These people are completely incompetent. I took my car here for oil changes twice in a row before doing it myself. In that time they managed to over-tighten the housing of the oil filter so much that they couldn't get it off to replace the second time around (at which point they simply didn't replace it and neglected to mention anything to me about it). They also couldn't fit the dipstick down far enough after the first change, so they added extra oil to compensate so my car was running on 2 extra quarts of oil for a few months. Finally, I've been having trouble with my brakes recently and learned it's because they installed rotors that don't fit with the pads, so I need to replace those now. They tried to blame my replacement of my suspension for this. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I know they have to do that, but I'm essentially paying for work time that was not used. Just a pet peeve of mine. Definitely one of the biggest rip-offs I've ever encountered in my life. I went there to get a tire replaced since it was the closest place near me. After about fifteen minutes of waiting, one of them called me into the garage to show me "what else they found on my car". I knew what they were trying to do and I wasn't going to fall for it. They told me my air filter was dirty and needed an immediate cleaning (I didn't know air filters were near tires, interesting) and I said forget it. Then they told me I had to change all my tires immediately because they had no tread (they totally did) and he gave me a price of $900. Seriously. Nine hundred dollars to change tires. I don't know whether they thought I was an idiot or what, but I told them no. Not in my right mind was I going to pay these clowns almost a grand for four tires. And the one tire they did change, they gave me a junk one, anyway. If you want to keep your money, stay away from here. If you feel like being robbed, come on down. There's better options in the area. I took my car in for a state inspection and oil change. No initial problems. We got the car back in a reasonable amount of time. Happy enough with the service... ...Fast forward about month, I started having issues with the performance of the car. Our 6 year old people carrier started making spluttering noises when I hit gas, and the dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree (check engine light, exclamation point, oil can). I dropped the car off at another service center that had big red letters and funny faces on the sign. They ran a diagnostic test. Turns out that the oil was bad. Really bad! I told the tech. that we just had the oiled changed about a month ago. He said that oil has been in there longer than a month. Uh ohhh. I have been to this establishment twice for an oil change. I lease my car from a dealership, but they always have a packed schedule so I took my car to Tires Plus out of convenience. Now I will be scheduling my oil change at the dealership well in advance because I will NEVER return to this Tires Plus ever again. The first time I went they tried telling me that my tire alignment was completely off and that it would be over $200 to have it fixed. I took it to the dealership and they said the alignment was perfect. The second time I took my car for an oil change (this past weekend) they called in 20 minutes after dropping it off to tell me that my front tire was shredding, my wind shield wipers were shredded, and I need a new air filter. They let me know that I had three new tires but the fourth was old .. funny considering I have only had ONE tire replaced the whole time of having my car & 2 months ago I had that tire replaced and the windshield wipers replaced. Long story short, today I took my car to the dealership and they let me know that all tires are perfectly fine, not shredding, my wipers were fine, not shredding. These people at Tires Plus are liars and try to empty your wallets on things that are not even broken. Oh! and when I picked my car up after the oil change they left in my passenger seat a brand new oil filter still in the box ... idiots. So my advice is to steer clear of this Tires Plus and go to someone that will not take advantage of you. read more

I love Tires Plus Royersford. My husband and I take all three of our cars there for repair, maintenance, and tires. They are always helpful, friendly, and honest. My entire family now goes to Tires Plus Royersford because of us refering them there. My family also loves it there and thinks they are the best. And to a previous review I read on here. "All the techs look like they are in high school" That is a false statement. There are a lot of "older" responsible looking techs that work in the shop. I have waited in the waiting area plenty of times and have seen and talked to the technicians that work here. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Service agent was dishonest about how long it took to get serviced then provided no updates on car. I dropped my car off at 10am and they said it would be 1.5 hours before it would be seen. I understood that since I didn't have an appointment and I had other people ahead of me that this might happen so I was patient and wait about 3 hours before I decided to check on my car. I needed my tires repaired since there seemed to be a hole in it and an oil change. The service agent mentioned that they are the sister store of Firestone which I bought life time alignments.At 1230pm I drove by and saw my getting serviced so I thought it would be about done. So I went home and waited for about 35min to call and check if it was done. The service agent was completely unknowledgeable and told me that my car hadn't even been serviced yet so I asked him to check because I saw that it was being serviced over 30min ago. The service agent put me on hold and came back and said oh yes they are working on it now and it will be done in 15 min. At the time I called it was 1:06pm and so at 1:45pm I figured they would be done since about 30min had passed since I called so I decided to go over to check on my car. The service agent said at the front desk was very rude when I came into ask about my car and asked if I got a phone call saying my car was ready. I said no but I had just called 30min prior and someone told me it would be done 15 min ago. He went to check and told me it in line for the tire alignment and I was next in line to get an alignment. I decided I didn't want the alignment since I was on a time crunch and could not wait any longer. a visit that normally would take 3 hours took over 4 hours was ridiculous and the service agent kept telling me the wrong times the car would be ready. This place and the service agents are untrustworthy. All I needed was an oil change and to repair a small hole in my tires. I asked to get the alignment since I have the lifetime warranty but left without it. The agents were unknowledgeable and did not even bother to explain what was done with the the car and when I drove it off the lot I heard an odd squeaking m and rattling sound. I will be bringing it to a mechanic elsewhere that has more trustworthy mechanics and service reps. This place was awful and hope no one ever returns no matter what the emergency. New vehicle, only 6k miles, rear tire had a slow leak. Took to Tires Plus and they said there was a screw too close to the sidewall to repair and the new tire with installation would be $289.00. I decided to call around and got a better price $250.00 from CJs Tires. When I took the car to CJs they inspected the tire for me and said the screw was well within the range for them to repair the tire. Never going back to Tires Plus. read more

I usually take both if my cars here for service and inspection until today I am reconsidering. I called and told them I wanted a oil change, tire rotation and my fog light fixed which they got me in quickly. I told 'BJ' on the phone when I made the apt, about the fog light, which when I got there I reminded him again to fix the fog light then the 3rd time when the car was in the shop and I was going for a walk I told him again I wanted the fog light replaced and if he could get a brighter one than the stock one to replace both but to call me on my cell. He said it might take 1 hour and would call me if he needed to. I return 1 hour later and the tech. that was tightening the lugs on my car was right next to the door I was walking in looked at me I said did you get the fog light fixed or did you replace both with brighter ones and he looked at me and said he didn't know what I was talking about so I asked 'BJ' which said I need to wait for the tech. to take out the fog light to see which one I need to order and I told him that is why I told you 1 hour ago when I got here so you can get the part ordered and delivered while you were changing the oil which he told me 2 more times he needed to wait until the tech. pulled the light out and gave him the part number before he could order the part which I told him again for the 3rd time that is why I told you when I dropped the car off so I did not have to wait. BJ would not accept responsibility he was wrong and said this is the procedure and he was not going to argue with me and wants to finish up the process, how would I like to pay. I told him I didn't have the time and gave him my credit card. It is a shame because when I was there 3 weeks ago with my other car the regional manager was there saying hello talking to everybody and offering chicken from Popeys, I will update this order if I get a response regardless in 1 week and after my next service if I go back. You should have zero stars because that's what Tires Plus Royersford deserves. I had a 9:30 a.m. appointment with a pick up at 3 p.m. that same day. When I got there my car had not even been worked on (it was there for inspection) and was told I would not have it back until the following day. Really?????????? Never a phone call saying they couldn't get to it even though I made an appointment. We used to take our cars there, but after this treatment, we never will again. I spoke to the manager (the same person who made the appointment for me) and quite frankly he seemed not to care. Asked if he could do anything to make it up to me and when I said "give me back my keys", he just shrugged and handed them to me. A really fine way to run a business. We have taken our cars to Tires Plus Royersford for the past several years and have been satisfied with the service until recently. In the summer, I had the truck inspected and the oil changed only to get the truck back and see that they did not change the oil change sticker on the windshield. I questioned them about it and they assured that the oil had been changed and they just forgot to put on the new sticker. I checked the oil when I got home and it did appear to have been changed, but I was still somewhat skeptical. Fast forward about a month and I already needed a new oil change along with 4 tires and some additional work. The bill was well over $1000. I get my truck back and, again, the oil change sticker had not been updated. I go back in the shop and they admit they forgot to change the oil. I needed to wait about 45 minutes for them to get this done. They took responsibility for the mistake and credited our account with a free oil change. Nice gesture, but I don't mind paying to get my oil changed. It is my time that is more valuable at this point. Now I set up an online appointment for today to get my oil changed again. I arrive to find out that the appointment had not been "confirmed" yet despite the opening sentence of the email I received saying, "Thank you for scheduling your appointment with Tires Plus". Later in the email, it reads, "If for any reason we cannot complete your requested appointment time, we will call you directly to discuss other convenient appointment options." Needless to say, though they offered a 4:00pm appointment online when I scheduled, since it was not confirmed they could not get me in. And, you guessed it.......no call to let me know. Tires Plus Royersford - you've had your 3 strikes. There are oil change places and tire shops all over town. Time for me to move on. read more
