My experience was good all around. I needed to get a flat tire patched. The service was great because I really didn't want to get a new tire and had a razor blade puncture which was probably a hard thing to patch but they got it completed. The quality of service was great as well, Charles did a great job working with me and I helped identify the problem and he gave me options and ultimately cared about my wallet which was ideal. The value was also good. The patch was a 1/10th of a cost of new tire and with only 10,000 miles on my tires I really didn't want to have to have a new tire if I didn't need it. Overall I would recommend them to anyone in the neighborhood. read more

BEST Experience, Fast, Quality, affordable, courteous and job done right. My tire blew out on the freeway and my insurance towed my car to nearest tire shop (Meineke) they told me they could help me BUT UNTIL TOMORROW. In desperate need I called ALL the tire shops in that area an no one wanted to repair the tire since it was around 4-5pm. Tires Plus is still here, still selling tires and still providing automotive services, however they're not like they used to be. A recent experience left me a bit bewildered. I scheduled and confirmed an 8:00am Saturday morning appointment to change my vehicle's oil and rotate its tires. I arrived ten minutes early and found a few other customers waiting outside. Nobody was here. I called the 800 number. No answer. I tried having the AI function forward me to the store. I heard the phone ringing, but there was no answer. One of the waiting customers tried pulling on the door, but caught the deadbolt. A few minutes later the local police showed up because we tripped the silent alarm. They looked at us, shrugged their shoulders and left. Finally, about twenty minutes later, and about forty minutes late, the staff showed up. A quick apology was offered and then it was down to business. About a half hour later, I was back in my car and headed home. I get it, stuff happens. I just seems stuff is happening a lot lately, especially here. I'm not sure if I can recommend Tires Plus like I used to. If you decide to use their services, please use them at your own risk. read more

Caveat emptor! Avoid! Avoid!! Avoid!!! After consulting with a mechanic friend of mine on what seemed to be a bit of a high estimate on a simple repair on my fiancee's car I came to find out that this shop is charging 50-100% more for their parts than the standard RETAIL price! A quick look up on Advance Auto Part's website confirms this. As an auto shop they should have access to better pricing than the average consumer, yet somehow I'm able to find the EXACT same parts for half their quoted cost? Take my advice, avoid these scammers like the plague. I'm not sure it's true of all Tire's Plus shops but these guys are just after your wallet. *edit* It turns out the half of the work the shop wanted to do was completely unnecessary. The previously mentioned mechanic friend (who did all their requested repairs for about 1/16 of their quoted cost) found that some of the parts that Tires Plus wanted to replace were actually fine, and in no way in need of replacement. Simply more evidence of their money hungry attitude. I'm personally convinced that only a fool would go to this shop for anything more than an oil change. read more

Called at 3pm, said it would be ready in an hour. Just came at 430pm and my car literally had not moved an inch and was told that it was next in line, I simply took my car and left. Just visited the tires plus in downtown Overland Park that I've used for the past 10 years. I was there as soon as they were open, with no other customers in sight, nor a lot full of cars left waiting and the clerk said he couldn't fit me in and that there were 39 cars ahead of me. Now I'm sitting in there parking lot, in the rain looking for somewhere else to take my business, completely disgusted! They have all been mulling about inside , not working on a single car for the past 20 minutes! Firestone now has my business, both for the tire today, and the other three I will be buying in two weeks! They have lost a customer for life! read more

I haven't used this location in a few years and now I know why. It's customer service blows. I scheduled in advance online and appointment for 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. That appointment was confirmed by email. I live in midtown kc mo. I drove all the way to Overland Park got there at 4:20 to be told that my 4:30 wasn't available. I can reschedule you for tomorrow he said..... If I was available tomorrow I would've made the fucking appointment for tomorrow. Now I'm not available for another two weeks and my car needs to be serviced. What a waste of gas as well. Someone should've called you he said. No one called my phone ttoday. I work across the street from this tire company. I got off work at 5:30, discovered I had a flat tire, and walked over to Tires Plus to see if they could help me. They close at 7. They told me they had two more cars to service (I could see multiple people working in the garage so two more cars was nothing), so they wouldn't be able to help me. It was ridiculous. It was a 15 minute job with the right equipment to remove the tire and put on a new one. Laziness, pure and simple. I hope they learn better customer service. After reading the other reviews, maybe I should consider it my lucky day that they didn't work on my car. So sad that so many customers have had such awful experiences with them. read more

Nothing feels worse than being lied to face to face. Even worse is when they make you feel like your only option is to get screwed. Just because your car is elevated, doesn't mean my wallet is your ATM machine. Tires Plus hosed me on warranties for my tires, and have always had an excuse why my road hazard plan doesn't actually cover the hazard issue I encountered (two nails in my tire). Worst part, is that when it came time for my girlfriend to get her oil changed, she wanted to go to Tires Plus because she had a coupon. Pissed off is an understatement. After almost 2 months, my car still shakes horribly when idling. Tires Plus swears they can't duplicate the problem. They sent it to the local Chrysler dealer for a diagnostic...they said they can't duplicate the problem either. How about this. MY CAR NEVER RAN LIKE THIS. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. You guys replaced the engine for crying out loud...it should purr like a kitten. Try this...I take care of this car. I get the tires rotated and the oil changed every 3,000 miles. So, have the dealer take another car of the same year/mileage, start it, and let it idle right next to mine. Then tell me you can't duplicate the problem. Now, I am taking this to the Better Business Bureau. My car is not right...period. I knew better than to let Tires Plus do major engine work on my car, but I got sucked in by the lip service given by their customer service representatives. We bought 4 new tires from tires plus 10 months ago. My husband recently had one blow out, we returned to tires plus to replace the tire. After an inspection, we were told that we would have to buy 4 new tires! We were told that this is policy for all-wheel drive vehicles and that the tread was too worn to make any exception. We put less that 10,000 hwy miles on these tires. It is unreasonable to have to buy 4 new tires every 10 months to the "discounted rate of 700.00"! Do not buy your tires here they will only last 10 months. Talk about a low rate product. Clearly these tires are poorly made and I personally don't feel that it is safe to put any product from tires plus on my family vehicle. read more

I would recommend Tires Plus to everyone. I called my car dealer for price and availability on Michelin tires for my truck and got an answering machine. I called Tires Plus and got a quote immediately and tires installed that afternoon. The dealer called me back three days later. He told me as a customer interested in buying a brand new set of tires that he had others things he needs to be doing and doesn't have time to answer my questions. He then proceeded to walk out of the room after this arrogant comment was made. Don't worry sir, I won't be back... We took my husband's car in to get new tires and we knew he needed an alignment also. So after looking around at different options, I decided on Tires Plus cause they had a rebate going on some decent tires and it was a bit cheaper than NTB where I'd gotten tires on my car. So I used their online scheduling system in which you pick three times and they email you back the selected time that will work. I was informed I had a 12:30 appointment. No problem. We dropped the car off a half an hour early and decided we'd rather go run a couple errands than sit around and wait. At 1:30 I called back to check on how far along they were and when it might be done. I was told that they'd just pulled it in to work on it. Here is where the problem is... On the website they have a 59 minute guarantee that if you schedule there, they promist to install tires in 59 minutes or you get $59 off your bill. Now, this only applies if you are having tires done and we were getting an alignment as well. however, the whole point of this guarantee is to basically say, we promise to get your car in at the scheduled time. Our car was brought in 60 minutes late. HAD we just been getting tires installed, they never would have met their own deadline. More on this in a minute. At 3:30 we got a call that the car was done and ready for pick up. So 3 hours after it was scheduled to be worked on. Okay, fine. We go pick it up and I'm not really thinking about the 59 minute thing and don't ask about it. But when we get home I get to thinking about it. They clearly couldn't have done the tire part in the time they were supposed to because they started an hour late to begin with. I called the national number I found online and they took all the info and were going to pass it to a regional manager. The next day I got a call from someone at this location saying "They didn't realize that I wanted them to honor the 59 minute thing since I had dropped off my car and left but we will refund you the $59." So here's the thing, I was told they didn't think I'd expect it back in 59 minutes because i didn't wait there. Um, just because i'm gone doesn't mean I don't still want the prompt service that your website guarantees. So today i went in to get my refunded $59 and a manager type guy is at the register and says he wants to point something out to me. He pulls up the details of the guarantee that says it's only on tire install and not valid if we have other work done (ie our alignment) but they weill refund me the money because they already promised to. he just wanted me to be aware of the rules... I point out that i was well aware of that and even said so when i called the first time but the crux of my argument was that they told me flat out on the phone that my car wasn't even started until an hour late. So had I just had tire work, it wouldn't have been done on time. he then continued to be rather huffy and rude pointing out the rules. Hello, I understand! I WISH I'd replied with "You don't have to worry about me knowing the rules because I fully intend to never come back" but I didn't and that's my cross to bear. Basically this place promises to get your car in in a timely manner but they clearly have no desire to follow through on that if a) you leave your car and don't wait or b) you are having anything more than tires done. I was basically told they didn't get to my car quickly because of those two things. Just because I left and had more work than was guaranteed, doesn't mean you should lollygag. As for everything else, the counter guys I dealt with when i dropped the car off, picked it up and again went for the refund were very nice, personable and pleasant. But the manager sounding guy on the other hand needs to maybe learn from those who work for him and be a little more polite with customers (Also not talk to other employees with the same rude attitude I got in front of customers, which he also did) Basically, there are plenty of other pllaces that will put your new tires on. If I could give zero stars, I would. We brought my car in because we had a flat and ended up buying four brand new tires. TWO DAYS LATER.. two of the four tires were flat and looked as though they were not completely on the rim (maybe leaking air that way). We took the car back in and we were told the air stems were actually what was leaking the air "very slowly". My rear drivers side tire was almost completely flat after two days, so that must have been quite a leak. Furthermore, I had to wait over two hours for them to fix this simple problem.. According to them. The ONLY plus side is they didn't charge me for their error. SO... I guess if you like wasting hours of your life for underwhelming work then by all means, go here. read more

I have been going to tires plus for a long time and never had issues up til now. I purchased brand new tires less than a year ago from another company, but still went to tires plus for an oil change and tire rotation. Little did I know they were never rotating my tires as requested. Due to this my tires wore down very quickly and I had to spend another $600 on tires this week. I trusted this company to do their job correctly and honestly and they did not!!! They never told me I had an oil leak or that my CV joints were going out! I've even had an inspection done there and they said my car was in perfect condition! I will never return here again!!! read more

What a disappointment , The so called mgr Josh was so unprofessional I could not believe how he spoke to me when I addressed to him my complaint . I watched the mech Greg toss my right front hub cap into my car as if I came into the store with it in the car, when I asked him why he did not put the hub cap on the car he was rude and said it's broke and wont be going back on the car .When I spoke to Josh about this he proceeded to connives me that it was broken when I came into the store I called customer service they were very kind and understanding and promised to return a call within 24 hours this didn't happen it took me several calls to finally get them to agree to pay for the broken hub cap . I wont be coming back as a consumer I fill as if I can and will find a better place to do business with . I've never had a problem here. Ten months ago they told me my sway bar was cracked and I needed to get it replaced. I didn't. It finally broke and I took it in to have it repaired. They first tried to find a cheaper option instead of having to replace the whole thing. The bar itself was completely cracked so they did have to replace the whole thing. They had someone from another store bring the part to them and they didn't charge me the full price on it. They called before they did anything. They didn't try to talk me into a bunch of unnecessary repairs. My car does need alot of work because it is a pos and old so they could have tried to gouge me but didn't. My husband has worked on cars his whole life and does most of the repairs on our vehicles. Some of the things that they said needed fixed really do need to be fixed. And they didn't pressure him or I to have them fixed. I had looked at the going rate for my car and the services being done on them and my bill was much lower then I expected from what I researched online, including the labor costs. is there a negative scale here. I have had much experience with the location on State Ave and while the wait is long and my car was never done when promised they always were courteous, honest and did a good job and they always had my potenza tires for the best price. Over the years I have given them thousands of deserved dollars. Unfortunately this location has shafted them too because of their shady practices I just could never bring myself to give this company another dollar. I brought my car in for an ABS light and spongy pedal which was caused by what I told them was probably a master cylinder. I had just had the state ave location replace my front pads, rotors and 1 caliper the year prior so i didn't think it could be anything major. I was told someone would call me that afternoon. I didn't get a call so I called them they told me they would get to it in the morning. Late the next afternoon I get a call telling me that my pads are all bad and my front rotors and that 1 caliper is leaking but they wanted to replace them in pairs so now my 300 dollar repair has become 800 I told him no. To only replace the bad caliper and go ahead and do the pads so i took it back down to just over 500. They call me 2 hrs later and tell me the good caliper has seized up and will not compress and it needs to be replaced. I tell them that I just had it replaced by them just over a year ago. He pulls it up and tells me that the part only had a 1 year warranty on it. So at this point my car is apart the caliper cant be put back on so I either have to tow it or let them fix it. So I burried my anger and said go ahead back to over 800 dollars. It was supposed to be done that day before closing. Of course it was not I get a call in the morning and the guy says"I have some good news and some bad news" The new calipers and pads are back on and and it's all back together. The bad news there is still no brake pressure. I have a bad master cylinder.(gee didn't I tell them that first). It was now going to cost me almost 1,300 dollars.WOW!!!. Again they had my car there was no brake pressure It was either let them fix it or get it towed at this point all I could do was grunt out of fear that If I talked I would probably have said something that could later be held against me in a court of law. The guy says ok we have ove in the warehouse and it will be fixed by5 tonight you can come pick it up then. I call at 4:30 and they say they are filling the system now and i can come get it. I drive down there and i can see my car up on the lift and i see them back there drawing for the short straw on who is going to come talk to me. So the guy comes out and stands out of reach to tell me that its a bad part, but they have another one in Iowa or somewhere that they will overnight (they even tried to charge me overnight shipping fees) and put it in first thing in the morning. The next day it was finally done. I picked the car up and went to pay they promiced me that they took this fee off and that fee off and only charged for the part here,,blah blah blah and my bill went from 1,310 down to 1,178 dollars so i gave them a coupon for 10% off for up to 100 dollars so I figured at least I could get another 100 bucks off. Well when I tried to use it the guy said that that discount was already used. Turns out they didnt take off fees or any of the BS they told me they just applied a coupon to make up the difference and not allow me to use the same coupon. So I got in it and everything seems to be working fine, but the ABS light is still on, so as calmly as I can I walk in and ask about it and they tell me that its a sensor and it will be additional money to replace that. I turned around and walked out before I wound up in jail. SO for what should of been a 3 hundred dollar repair it cost me 1200 dollars and almost 5 days of rental car because of some seriously shady business practices or sheer incompetence or more than likely probably both.PLEASE!!!PLEASE!!!PLEASE!!! for your own sanity stay away from this location do not even call them to ask a question they will probably send you a bill. read more

I am a single 66 year old woman living paycheck to paycheck. I have had this tires plus do all my oil changes and a new set of tires. I actually thought I had found an honest place to bring my car. Wrong! I went in there with a question about my starter. My car would not start on the first turn of the key. They said they had to keep it overnight in order to check this. (???) Called me and told me that they had found other issues and that it would be $800.00! I trusted that he (Joe) was telling me the truth. Went in the next day and picked up my car. The next time I tried to start my car, guess what, the starter problem was never addressed! They have lost a good customer, I will never go back. Do not take your car here. After an oil change my car was leaking oil. They looked at it and told me what the problem was and that only a dealer could fix it. I took the car to another place which fixed it. Found out it wasn't even close to the problem they said it was. Cost me $1200 less than what they said the problem was. It only cost me $150 to fix. Went to get tire on 4 door standard size passenger car. Tire was priced right, installed right, friendly staff, did a free inspection. However, sadly they claimed I needed a new air filter - my old one was "dirty". Not true! I had installed a new air filter the day before myself. And it took 1/2 hour to even get to the air cleaner element to see it. You have to remove the battery, which requires removing the firewall to strut mount brace, the windshield washer canister, the flex hose from the air horn, the wiring harness bundle strapped to the brace and then 3 mounting bolts to remove the air filter housing from the car. then there are 4 clips (you can't reach them any other way but out of the car) holding the 2 canister parts together. Once the 4 clips are off, you can then, finally separate the housing to see if the air filter is dirty. its all nestled way below and wedged into a small space. Dirty air filter is the oldest trick in the book at the repair shop. read more

I should've known better. I got a few quotes for two tires for my truck and four for my girlfriends car. They were the best, so they won my business. They didn't have any openings until two o'clock, so I scheduled my appointment then, and was told that if I wanted to drop the car off then they'd get it in earlier if they could and we could switch the truck in when it was done. The next day my girlfriend drops off the car at about 8:30. They tell her the truck had an appointment at 8, but they'd work it in somehow. A simple miscommunication. It happens. About noon I stop by to switch them out and pay for the cars. The total comes out to $550. What all six tires with installation were supposed to cost me. I asked to make sure they weren't combined, and was told that was the total for just the car. I pulled out my emailed quote and showed them, but was told when I actually scheduled the appointment I asked for different tires. They showed the signed paper stating that we had played the tires to be put on the car for that price. Of course, my girlfriend is not a car person and assumed that the paper was for both vehicles. I was told I could pay them the original amount and they'd switch my tires at their earliest convenience (4 hours later) or I could pay them $105 to switch them all out for the old tires they just took off. It was a classic bait and switch, and then I was strong armed into it. No matter what option I chose they were going to take my money. I agreed to the original tires and stormed out. I know I was getting the original deal, but it was more a matter of principle. I called the corporate number and finally got them to put the old tires back on at no charge so I can take it somewhere else. I will be more than willing to pay the extra hundred dollars to go to a local mom and pop if that hundred dollars include honesty. But as of now, tires plus lost $550 because they wanted to make an extra $200. read more

This Tire plus suck I took my car here to find out what was wrong with it I was told there was a nail in my tire so they offered to patch up the hole (we'll have me pay to patch up the hole) . I was told a nail in the tire can make the brake lights come on now that they have fixed the tire based on what they said I should be good to go Oh no they shouldn't of lied to me about my car being fixed so no sooner than I drove off the lot my car stared doing the same thing I pulled over and called them back .now I was told to dropped my car back off.
