I came in with four tires to get installed and ended up paying about $156. I ended up going to work the next day to encounter knocking and after taking a walk around my car seeing that 2 lug nuts were missing. We have been going to the tires plus on Lake street for years, having them swap out our snow and regular tires and vice versa. The wait is usually longer than they say, but recently their customer service has been especially poor. First, despite an appointment, they failed to get our car done. Then, Our tire swaps have usually run between $80-$90 - but when I went in today, they all of the sudden told me tire swaps are $154 - almost double! The reason? I didn't buy their fancy tires with the scam of an extended warranty. So if you don't want to fork over large amounts of money unnecessarily and get scammed, don't go here! Better options include Costco, or even your own mechanic (ours charges $100). But avoid Tires Plus if you don't want to waste a lot of time and money. read more

Saying I'm an amateur at tire knowledge is being nice. But I do know how to research and it seemed like this location of Tires Plus was a bit friendlier and more reliable than other locations. I made a call to replace my tires, and Cory (the manager I believe) was just as friendly over the phone as in person. He was extremely helpful and to-the-point when choosing my tires. I had a screw in my tire, on the side of the road I put a temporary plug in ( the one you get from oriley's) enough to get me home and get my spare tire on.. I took the tire to the maplewood location and 3.5 hours later I stopped back to see if it was done (was getting close to closing time) was told they have not looked at it yet but would probably be in the morning.. they said they have a concern as the material of the plug can have a chemical reaction of the tire and compromise the rubber of the tire. The next morning I get a call and they said if they were to remove the plug, they would end up having to make the hole too big and won't be able to patch the hole.. but they would defect the tire out under warranty, and can get me a new tire bit I would have to pay to install the tire on the rim and pay to put the warranty on the new tire. I told them I'll pick my tire up.. I took it to another tires plus and they had no issues patching the tire worst tire place is the maplewood, mn location.. I'm sure they didn't want to fix it under warranty, as it doesn't make them money.. they only want to do things they will bring in money.. just be honest and tell the people that.. there are plenty of other places that will do it.. you don't have to make lies up. read more

I had a slow leak in a tire,screw in it. I went early on a Saturday they said could take 2 hours it was less then an hour and they repaired my tire for an easy $20.00. People were extremely friendly and accommodating,I will be back when I make my next tire purchase. read more

So my neighbor had gotten lifetime alignments from them in 2021 when he had some work done he drove the vehicle maybe a handful of times afterwards and then he died. The paper work for it is still in the truck the title hasn't been transferred and I just think that's it's really kinda shitty that since the alignment is really bad and they did it last they wouldn't just do one alignment on it because the owner is dead. Wasn't expecting the lifetime warranty but maybe just one. Won't ever recommend tires plus to anyone for anything. To me that's really horrible customer service. It's been a little over 1,000 miles since the alignment was done. So not even enough miles to need an oil change and it already needs an alignment that's pretty bad work quality I think! read more

Manager WORSE than the incompetent employees! After the disastrous visit on July 2nd, see original review below, the manager finally called me this morning (July 15th; 13 days later) to talk to me about it. When I mentioned that I waited for 3.5 hours for two tires to be replaced, he interrupted me to to say that according to his records I checked in at 1 and checked out at 4:18 which was 12 minutes short of 3.5 hours. I then asked how long it should take to replace 2 tires and he responded 45 minutes (which he agreed isn't anywhere close to 3 hours and 18 minutes). There was no apology and when discussing how to "make things right" he told me if I decide to come back to make sure I make an appointment when he is there so he could supervise things. I assured him that will never happen. After having this infuriating and insulting discussion with the manager, I now understand why customer service from his employees was so awful. Original review: Made an appointment to repair or replace a tire with a slow leak. 30 minutes after my appointment they finally looked at my car. After determining the tire had to be replaced, the woman helping me couldn't differentiate between the tire options except by price. So I looked online and selected the tires. 1.5 hours later, my tires still weren't on. When I asked the woman at the counter how much longer it would take she said she had no idea and SHE was really frustrated with how things were going. Finally, 3.5 hours after my appointment time, I was able to leave with two new tires. They wanted me to come back the next week to get the other two tires but ! refused. No customer service, no communication about the products or the process, and a horribly frustrating experience. Save yourself the trouble and go someplace else. read more

I've went here for an oil change and standard maintenance 5 to 10 times and I would never go anywhere else, the manager Rodger is funny as heck and definitely has the costumers interest in mind, he never recommends any repairs that aren't necessary and actually has advised I go elsewhere before to save money. read more

Waited 5 hours for a basic oil change. The very next day the oil light and check engine light came on. I checked the dip stick and there was no oil on it. I then had to get it towed to tires plus so they could actually put the oil in the car. When I picked up my car the next day the work order invoice stated- "No oil what so ever". Before today, I'd give them 5 stars! They do a great job, above and beyond what I expect. After today, 1-star. I made an appointment for an oil change today, got there super early, dropped my car off, and they were able to take it in right away. I left to run some errands and came back to find my keys sitting on the front counter, and not a soul in sight. I could however hear two guys casually chatting in the back. After a few minutes, I finally said "hello" and someone came out. Does it bother anyone else that my keys were sitting on the front counter unattended, and not behind it with the work order? Not to mention that I stood in there long enough to snag a key and a car, if I wanted, and nobody would have noticed. I asked the guy when he came out of the office why my car key was sitting there and he told me it just got done. Ok, apparently not since I stood there for a few minutes and starred at my key laying there for the world to enjoy. Careless, inexcusable, and unacceptable. I hate to say that one experience ruins a great business relationship, but whether it is a Lexus or clunker, treating my property that way is a "One strike and you're out" situation. read more

They do more than just check tires or perform tire services. I was surprised to learn that. I had my oil changed as well as my tires rotated. They did a routine inspection. The only reason my ticket was a bit pricey is due to the year and mileage of my car. I have been to other oil change services and probably Jiffy Lube may be the most inexpensive I have seen. This location has informative staff that were helpful. I did not have an appointment and they accepted my walk-in. It was about two hours, but on a Saturday I was sort of expecting that to happen. I will consider going to them again for some routine auto needs. read more

Here's the thing... I never leave a negative review. If I don't like a place, I just won't come back. However, the last couple of times I've been to this Tires Plus, I feel like I'm entering an alternate universe that nothing makes sense in. I schedule an appointment 5 days ahead. I show up to my appointment early to be courteous. I find out that the master tech is out, so the major thing I scheduled my appointment for, is out the window. No problem, I have just an oil change and a vehicle inspection. Mind you, it's just me and one other person waiting. Then after an hour, just me. I don't hear anything. 2 hours roll by, nothing. I notice my car is put on the lift at around an hour 45 minutes into my waiting time. Then oops, it's 2 hours and 15 minutes of waiting. I stand in line to ask if they even know I'm here waiting and I've get told that they inspected my car, nothing they can notice is wrong with it, but I need 4 new tires... no I don't. I don't need 4 new tires. But I've waited 2 hours and 15 minutes to be told I need 4 tires. I feel bad because there's someone ahead of me already complaining and I don't want to be that person. So, I express to the front desk person, listen, I'm tired, I've been here since 4, I'd just like to get home. She gives me a discount, only, my guess is they are giving everyone discounts/coupons because I heard her talking to another customer that they applied discounts for her. I take it, whatever, I'm ready to just go. Instead, after finishing my checkout, she says nothing, just answers the phone. I'm expecting my keys at this point. She takes this phone call and after says she'll be right back. That's literally the last time I see her. I look through the window to see if my car is still there, as I expect it to already be pulled around. Except, at 2 hours and 30 minutes... they're putting oil into my car. That's wild to me. I saw no one around my car for an hour. I saw it in the lift, didn't see anyone attending to it. I can't say for certain if they checked what was going on with my car, that's how little I trust them now. Especially after I was told they topped off my oil the last time I saw them and a week later by another mechanic (one that I trust, just harder to get an appointment for) that I was very very low on oil, but no leak. I didn't make a complaint, I just took it on the chin as it was just annoying more than anything. I get it. It's Tires Plus and there's a staffing shortage everywhere. But no one said, hey, you're really sure you want to wait? It might be a while. Or checked in to even give an update. I'm making this review, not because I want coupons or vouchers, but because I will NOT be returning. This was the nail in the coffin. No amends, just know that I would not trust them or expect speedy service. read more

Another positive experience at tires plus today. Had squeaky brakes and they were going to resurface the rotors to take care of it. The machine that does the resurfacing was off and made it worse so they put on brand new rotors. I expected to still pay the resurfacing cost because they were giving me a better alternative due to the mistake. But they did the whole thing completely free. To me that's how you win customers, when you make a mistake (and everyone does) you go above and beyond to make it right. They consistently have done that for me. read more

I brought my Taurus to Tires Plus to get it right, in driveable condition, was charged over $800 to get it fixed , immediately after getting it back it was worse off then when I brought it in. Horrible sound in the engine and rattling in bottom of car. So brought it to Roger, the manager at Tires Plus in Maplewood, who gave me the poor advice that it was okay to drive for awhile, I told him my concerns of why in such bad shape after they just had it and were supposed to get it safe, his reply, "you want a car that doesn't have any problems, buy new" my car then broke down same day, unfortunately I had it towed there thinking they would make things right but they came up with a new estimate of 915.00 to fix, after just giving them over $800 to fix. So I had it towed out of there, and the mechanic shop it was towed to and that fixed it said half the problems Tires Plus said were wrong with the car did not exist, it didnt need all the parts and labor that tires plus said it required, this other mechanic charged me just under $300 and my car runs perfect. Never would I trust Tires Plus with any of my vehicles. Screwing people over loses business in the long run. I hope no one ever has to go through a situation like my husband and I just did with an automotive place like this. read more

Will never go back. They installed 4 brand new tires in December. About a month later ALL tires were losing air. Thought with change in weather I needed to change the pressure. Every week had to add air. Took the car back and they said all 4 rims were bad!! They were all leaking air. Told me that I should go complain to dealer where I bought the car! Really?? I have had the car for over 2 years with no problems. Funny how all 4 rims could start leaking at the same time. Terrible! read more

I wouldn't recommend anyone going there. They do a half ass job. Went in to get my car check and need two engine coils replaced they gave me a quote and I said I'll do it myself. When i replaces my own engine coils they broke all my clips on my coils and when I went to replace one of my coils they had a sleeve stuck in there. I just don't recommend bringing your car/truck here it won't be done correctly and you'll over pay. read more

Brought my car in initially for car wouldn't heat up at idle only at highway speeds. Thinking it was a thermostat I monitored temp closely prior to bringing in. No issues with temp car ran at 220 deg for which is where it should be. Took my car in talked to Steve said he would look at it. I also had a noise in my front tire as well ( been there 4 times fir this issue). Get a call at work at 2:45pm said needs sway bars and water pump. I told him water pump unlikely as there was no other issues pointing to that. Temp held at 220 no bearing or broken pulley noise water wasn't gushing out. I just had a slow leak (I added about a quart of antifreeze every 3 days). He was adamant and said if I want my car today I have to decide by 3pm. I said yes as I was just talking outside a work meeting. Picked the car up cost $972. Wow! Drive off and didn't even get to the end of their driveway and I noticed the tire and the exact same noise. Upon arriving at home, 1.2 miles away, I immediately seen radiator fluid leaking. Much faster than when I brought it in. I even videotaped the leaking fluid (which I still have). Paperwork states tested for leaks and passed. Really!! Hmmm. Let me show you a video. I also took photos of coolant hoses not put all the way on (3 of them). Took the car back told them the water pump was fine intact based on the symptoms should have never been changed. Tire noise still there. After looking at it again and spending all day now they think it's the head gasket and I needed struts for my noisy front tire. Hey why not let's try that only $800 for struts. Umm!! No I said no. This keep trying stuff and charging me a fortune for it stops now. Fix by trial is ridiculous. A failed sway bar and water pump diagnosis and $972 out of my pocket!!! Struts should have been done for free as they didn't get it right the first time. Head gasket? Big questions arise. No blow by white smoke oil isn't discolored white from having water in it. There's just no other sign or symptoms that a head gasket is going. So I'm out $972 and a comfortable place to take my car. I've been going to tires plus for 30 years and I've been as loyal as anyone. But I feel let down and lied to. Steve you and I both know what you have done. Do the right thing and fix my struts and leaking antifreeze. You and I know the stuff I overheard time and time again. Admit you made a mistake with this one and fix my car right. I'm now forced to start another relationship with another auto repair company as I'm not comfortable with the direction you are taking this store. If they ask I will b forced to tell them everything!! read more
