Had an unpleasant experience with a rental car while in the area. We were informed by the rental company to take the vehicle to a Tires Plus. Fortunately, we found this facility minutes away from where we were staying while in town for the weekend. When we called, we were informed that we could bring the vehicle in right away. The guys who helped us when we arrived were very professional. They let us know that once they receive approval from the rental company, they would immediately start on the vehicle. They were true to their word. Though the entire situation was frustrating and took time away from other plans, we were grateful to have the vehicle back in less than two hours. read more

I needed a new Mini Cooper tire put on a wheel quickly and this was the closest location that had 1 in stock. They were professional and gave me a price over the phone, but oddly enough once they applied my discount the price went up, which I did not notice until later when I was home. So I checked online and their out the door total price on their website was less than I paid. I called them and after getting the correct person they said they would issue me a refund for the difference they overcharged me. Seemed like an honest mistake, as they aren't used to processing discounts, I guess. Overall the tire seemed fine, nice new, name brand, and I have not had any issues from it. It took them maybe 1 hour to get the everything completed, which in the mean time we went next door to Taco Bell. I brought my car in with a large screw in the tread. It had been raining and you could see the air bubbling out by the screw. I even have video of it. These people "couldn't find the leak" and I ended up having to buy a new tire. I'm pretty sure I was just scammed. Updated: This got so much better. All said and done, I got 3 different stories of what happened, scammed into buying a new tire, they could have killed me, and I'm sure they didn't balance my tires. So, after getting my car back from Tires Plus and while flying down the Crosstown, I noticed the hood of my car bouncing and trying to fly off! They didn't shut my hood and it was hanging on by the latch! It could have flown up, caused an accident and killed me. Now I'm pissed. I called customer service and told them everything. Karen from CS was very nice, called the store and called me back with their story. Story #2 was something about them thinking it was the driver's side front tire (wrong tire) they were supposed to change, then they realized "they had the wrong car," they found the screw on the passenger side back tire (correct tire) but couldn't find the leak. Odd, since I walked the tech out to see it, and again, the screw was huge. you can see it in the pic. HOW can you miss the leak? I called BS and said there is no way they couldn't find a leak. Karen said she will call the store and have the original tire sent to another store for assessment. The hood being left open was glossed over. The store manager called within minutes of my call with CS, and he gave me story #3. He said it was written on the work order that it was the driver side front tire, they found and pulled out a nail but didn't find a leak. Odd. I had been called 3 times by the tech while they had my car telling me they coudn't find a leak, and each time I reiterated it was the passenger side back tire, the one with the huge screw in it, so this sounded like BS. Not once was the front tire with a nail ever mentioned to me during any of the calls. The manager said they realized it was written as front driver side, but checked off on the diagram it was the passenger side back tire, so they found the screw which ended up being a bolt, but they couldn't patch the tire because of the size and angle of the bolt. Funny that when CS asked for the tire that suddenly there WAS a leak found and it coudn't be patched. It would have been fine if the tire coudn't be repaired and I had to buy a new one, but being told the whole time they couldn't find a leak, that I needed a new tire, to now there suddenly was an un-patchable leak... right after being told they had to send this tire to be checked. BS. They lied. As far as leaving the hood open went, he simply said sorry and offered a free oil change. I wouldn't let these clowns wash my windows, so no thanks. They've done quite enough. I also noticed that there were complete different levels of PSI in my tires. 31, 35, 42, 29. I'm not a mechanic, but how do you balance tires like that?! Even if you can, this is still crap coming from a tire shop. This placed sucks. I was lied to, scammed out of my Road Hazard coverage that would have covered my tire being plugged, forced to buy a new tire that even with the prorated discount was expensive, they left my hood open and could have killed me, and most likely did not balance my tires. Firestone on Bloomingdale is way more honest and provides way more quality work. read more

Brought my car in for an alignment. Called the day before and got a 9 am appointment. When I arrive they have a truck in the alignment bay and I am informed that I have to wait... even though I had an appointment. They then tell me the $79.99 fee also has a $5.60 shop fee. When I ask for a price, it usually means the full price but not here. To top it off, I pick up my car and start driving.... and it is pulling hard to the right. I can literally change lanes in 2 seconds. I take it back and before I can say much the overly fat manager starts yelling about how I need tires and for $417 they can fix it. There's no way that my tires (which have 10,000 more miles left on the warranty) are so bad they pull a car into the next lane within seconds. I made and appointment online and it would not go through I called that a location. The man who answered the phone was very rude to me. I asked him a question about my appointment for this Sunday, so instead of just saying give me a minute I am the only one here he yelled' Bitch I am here by myself and I am unable to help you, plus we closed' then he hung up on me. Avoid this place!!! We have used Tires Plus in the past for all of our tires. Came in this past Sunday to get our tires rotated (which are free with our purchased tires from THEIR store) and figured we'd get an oil change while there. Left the car there the WHOLE day. They never called so we showed up at closing. The car was still being worked on. They told us they don't stop until their work is done.. HA!!! They asked us to come back in 15 minutes. When we returned, we asked them to confirm what we had come in to have done was done . The guy we spoke to (the SAME ONE WE SPOKE TO WHEN WE DROPPED THE CAR OFF) said "whatever is on the paper"... long story short.. they said they "forgot" to rotate the tires (the whole reason we came in) . Did nothing try to fix the situation. All he had to say was "sorry about that.. you can bring it back another day". They also charged us $77 for an oil change with synthetic oil which we never asked for. Scam!!!! Will never return to this place and will make sure to spread the word. read more

Avoid at all costs. We have some friends down from NY and they went to this location today. They thought there was more road noise than usual on their trip down so wanted it checked out. Well when all was said and done they were told they needed 4 new tires, an alignment, and a rear brake job to the tune of $1300.00. Told them not to do the work and we would pick the car up. When we went to pick it up they informed us that the wheel lug and nut was stripped so we needed to pay to pull the brake system apart to repair. They obviously stripped it by cross threading and forcing it on with an impact wrench. I asked them how it got stripped and they said it just happened. Bunch of BS, they stripped it and then wanted to charge our friends inflated prices to repair their screw up. I brought it home and fixed for ten bucks. Furthermore all 4 tires had half tread life left. Rear breaks were low but we fixed for thirty bucks. I understand it should cost something to have them do he work but $1300.00? I came here to get 2 new tires put on my car and a tire rotation. Before I went I did not have any issues with my car pulling to either side and now it is pulling so hard to the right. I called and asked them if they would look at it. I spoke with Ethan, who was very kind and said they had no problem looking at it for me. When I get to the shop Ethan started to help me and then Marcos came and told me he recommended I get an alignment and there was nothing else besides that they would do. I told him I wasn't paying $100 for an alignment when they messed it up. If my car had this issue before I went in I would completely understand what he was saying. However because I'm a younger female he felt he could take advantage of me and just repeat himself over and over as if I wasn't getting it. He barely listened to a word I said and just kept talking over me telling me I had to get the alignment. I will not be returning to this location ever. This place has horrible customer service. I purchased a tire from them on Saturday, on the following Monday my flat tire warning comes on and I took it into BMW and they told me the pressure was lower on the new tire so they put air in it and recalibrated it. Everything was fine and then yesterday (Thursday) my tire pressure warning comes back on so I am at tires plus telling the lady and she tries to tell me BMW didn't recalibrate it and my other tires pressure is off! I called BMW and they told her the tire they put on had low pressure Monday and they did recalibrate it. She is now having the techs look at my car! Seriously this place is ridiculous! Some advice, don't waste your time buying tires here bc it'll be more of a hassle coming back here when something is wrong. read more

I bought some new tires in 2011 and got an alignment. 2012 the rear left tire busted. I took it back to tire plus to get them to file the manufactures warranty so they could pay for new tires. They told me it was my fault for not getting another alignment six months later/keeping my car properly aligned. I never had to get my car aligned every six months in the past! I've been coming to this location since 2009 and never had a problem. Tires rotations are free, they'll install tires bought from somewhere else if they don't carry the brand, and the life time alignment has paid for itself over the 6yrs I've had my vehicle. The employees are always polite and friendly. This might not be the fastest place to have work done, but its solid and has never let me down. read more

Was very disappointed in our service today. I had an appt scheduled for 12:00 for 4 new tires and alignment. We arrived at 11:45 to check in. I was told it would take 45 more mins to get it in and their alignment machine was broke so they wouldn't be able to do that today so we would have to bring it back by. (We live 45 min away) I honestly should have just left then. My fault. However, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went to run my errands. At 2:30, I get a call that they are just now taking it in and they cannot get the tires off because they don't have the key for the tires. They said they went through our glove compartment, center console and trunk, and couldn't find it. I would have appreciated a call to let us know in the morning that they would not be able to do the alignment and also a call before they took it upon themselves to go through our car. Less than impressed with the service today. Would not take my car back to tires plus ever again, and would not recommend them to anyone. Very poor customer service. read more

All I needed was an exhaust stud cut off. One guy was almost helpful but didnt have a cutoff wheel. He asked the other guy and dude flat out said no. It was literally 15 seconds of work i was willing to pay 20 dollars for ONE MINUTE of his time. They wanted to charge me an hour to do it (100 dollars) and couldnt even get to it that day. I went 5 minutes south to Pep Boys. Without an appointment they took the part and cut off the stud before i got back from the car with my wallet. When I offered to pay dude would not even take my money. In and out in less than the time it took to try and convince the jobbers at tiresplus to help me. Guy at tires plus said he GOT IN TROUBLE for helping people. What kind of boss does that? Very disappointed but thankful Pepboys was more than happy to help. I called Tires Plus, 820 E. Bloomingdale Ave this morning and requested a quote to exchange my spare tire with the right rear tire on my Toyota Tacoma. I was quoted a price of $20 for this service. 30 minutes later when I took the truck to Tires Plus, the price was doubled to $40. I was told the additional charge was because it involved 2 tires and the price was $20 per tire. $20 dollars per tire may or may not be a fare price but I was quoted a price of $20 to move my spare tire to another and replace the other tire as my spare. I was very clear with my telephonic request. I made a special trip to Tires Plus to have this service performed. I cannot comment on the quality of their work since I refused the service after they doubled the price.
