Bought some Nitto Neo gens (over a 20k manufacturer mileage warranty -280tw) that wore EXTREMELY fast. (less than 5k miles) I took the car back to show them this. Rod immediately blamed it on the car, the second he looked outside and saw it. Saying it's a mechanical issue with the car and they absolutely wouldn't warranty any tires I put on that car. (So how's it a mechanical issue if you're gunna say that? Can't even fix the "issue" you claim it has [it doesn't have any] and then get some new tires that come with a warranty?) I tried to explain to the the him, and maybe he's too old fashioned to understand, that just because a car has low ride height, doesn't mean that it's "stanced out like crazy". less than 1° of camber. showed him right there in the lot, with his tread depth indicator gauge, the tires worn to 3mm tread depth across the whole tire, And I told him I can show him alignment print outs that prove the alignment is good. (because I cannot have them do it as their alignment rack doesn't accommodate cars with low ride height.) His response was "well I can make that alignment sheet say whatever I want it to." okay, well I'm truthful and not a dishonest person, so I wouldn't do that, this is my safety we're talking about here. Maybe you're dishonest and probably willing to do that to customer vehicles that way you can say they're "in spec" when you send em out after they pay... aside from the car not being able to safely go onto their alignment rack, I'd prefer to never have any of them behind the drivers seat again, since the last kid that went to move it into the shop had to ask me how to get it into reverse. That point aside, why would you sell me those tires, tell me the manufacturer warranty, see the car, install the tires, and then tell me you're not going to warranty them when i come back within the first 5k of my 20k+ warranty? I've taken every vehicle I've EVER had to these guys for all my tire and alignment work for my ENTRIE adult life... mainly because I used to work there back in 2012... and I will NEVER, spend another penny at this this store. read more

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST SERVICE CENTER Firstly we went in and paid over $1000 for 4 tires and an oil change. Mind you this price was during their "Tire sale" Cut to a day later, our car is spewing loads of smoke out the back and into the interior cabin. Call them, they claim they did nothing wrong to the car and didnt mess with anything other than the tires and oil change. Upon closer inspection the canister purge valve had been knocked loose and there was clearly greasy fingerprints from where someone had tried to force it back into place improperly. Shady practices from something clearly tampered with. Cut to a couple months later, our tires are leaking air. search for holes, objects, anything. No signs of anything so i call them up as i am well within my warranty time and mileage. I am rudely talked AT on the phone and told that the warranty only covers "things that were their fault" and seems very accusatory basically insinuating that i did something to the tire. Bring it in, low and behold, it was an improper seal around the tire, being their fault. The thing that irritated me the most from this visit though is the fact im currently waiting for a motor for my drivers side window. it was up, i would have gladly told them not to roll it down, if i thought for a second that my going in for tires warranted that information in any way. to make a long story short they rolled it down, and were unable to get it back up and basically told us that they weren't going to try to get it back up, and that it wasn't their problem as its their "policy" to roll the window down. i have since taken photos of the inside of the building, checked their websites, looked up any bit of information i can and i havent seen this "policy" posted anywhere for a customer to be able to see. otherwise i would have informed them, hey maybe roll one of the other 3 windows down since i had to go to a COMPETENT service center now and pay $87 just to get the window back up because you messed it up out of sheer stupidity. Not to mention he refused to offer the slightest bit of help on getting the window up that he lowered, forcing us to drive home with our 5mo old in his carseat in the cold. The service center is garbage. The customer service is trash. They will lie and say what they need to, in efforts to cover their own asses when they mess up. Their management is a joke. They just need to shut down and let a worth while service center go in that location. read more

Beware. I would stay far away from Tires Plus. I took my car in for two new tires. I was called 15-20 minutes after I got home from dropping my car off. They said that I needed two new struts for my car on top of the new tires. When I asked about this, they told me that they had no clue why my struts were broken and why my car was not experiencing any issues prior to arriving. I drive my car everyday without experiencing any of the issues that you see with broken struts. I did pay for service and when I voiced my frustration I was asked why I bothered to get my car fixed. I wonder why? Either I could drive the car off the lot and experience further car issues till the issue was fixed, or I could get it taken care of. As much as I didn't want them working on my car, I made the choice for them to fix the issue. When I was asking for clarification; I was told that my struts were broken and then I was told that they were rusted. Initially they said nothing about them being rusted. I was told that they were broken. Maybe they were rusted to the point where they were broken, that's possible, we live in Iowa. I found it odd that they went from broken to rusted to the point of broken. Why not say they were rusted at the beginning of our conversation? To me, it seemed as if they were changing their story. If you need any service, please go somewhere else and save yourself some money and frustration. read more

Have bought 3 sets of tires here and with my 3rd purchase of Bridgestone Quiettrack tires I'll NEVER deal with Rod again. The 80,000 mile tires only lasted 13116 miles he claimed they didn't get rotated enough just how many times do you rotate with 13 thousand miles? They were rotated at 6000 miles. My grand father owned a tire dealership that I worked in so I have a clue with tire maintenance. This shop was great until 2021. They were the best in town for tires. They have serviced 3 of my vehicles. Something changed and now it's a pure disaster. They lie, don't keep or honor their commitments, poor communication and no i mean zero customer service. i'm beyond exited at all the options now in Ankeny and will look for basic customer service in a new provider. My latest debacle, made an appointment for brake service, dropped my car off the night before, i heard nothing from them, called them at 2pm and was told my vehicle was next and they would call within the hour. Never heard from them, i called them at 6:45pm and the advisor was rude, unprofessional and hung up on me because I wanted an status update, they didn't get to my car, now how are just going to keep my car and not communicate a delay? why are you made at me for asking? i have the appointments and i'm paying you? The icing on the cake was this past sunday they hired someone new and he charged my wife for a tire patch when we have road hazard coverage on the tires we purchased from them, he reason. was that he was new and didn't know how to look it up. i'm officially done with Tires Plus, they won't put one finger on our 3 vehicles again. No stars don't go to this dealership what he did to me is unconscionable basically what the manager did is called bait and switch scam. So this is what happened is I used Ebay to purchase a set of tires. Then after the purchase of the tires a service pops up called car advisor that offers service a national service to have your tires installed for a set price So I agree to the deal everything thing is going great seemingly car advisor car advisor contact me on the February 16th, 2022 by email the tires have arrived at Tires Plus in Ankeny, IA and they Tires Plus has confirmed the appointment and accepted the appointment. So here's why I say this manager did a bait and switch on me. When car advisor sent to Tires Plus website to setup the appointment which I did on the 02/14/2022 there website said showed they had no appointments after 02/16/2022 so to make sure to I had covered all the bases by making my appointment for 02/21/2022 @3pm in case of shipping delays. I got a confirmation from the shipper that my had arrived at Tires Plus& Car Advisor sent me a email confirmation saying I was all set. Like I said everything was going great until 2/18/2022 when I get a voice mail telling me there booked solid and that couldn't honor the appointment and they would let me know when they could work me in. Well of course I immediately called them back on the 18th the phone rang and rang no picked up. I called repeatedly no would pickup the phone yes they were open until 7 pm I quit calling @6:55 pm realize I was getting the complete blow off. So on the 19th the following day I call & get a hold of the service manager which happens to be the only technician come to find out later. I inform the service manager that cannot wait for another time I have this day off this would cause to use my personal time off from work and this was unacceptable. So he gets his store manager by then I'm light up like a Christmas tree. The manager played plausible denial ability card. He said he no idea about the appointment he didn't look at the schedule until Friday afternoon. What didn't realize I drove truck for 28 years you don't sign for inventory without knowing why. Everything lined up except his crap story. What pissed me off the most is I called him out on his crap and he acted like a 2 year old caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Deny,Deny everything. Personally I can't do business with someone who doesn't what's going in there store. Now because of there incompetence this deal is going to cost more of my money, personal time. Two things you don't screw with me. Come to find out he accepted the deal knowing his was way under staffed and it the store manager and the service manager working @this store. With lot full of cars waiting to be serviced when I got down there to retrieve the tires I'm glad I didn't wait on them for the tire installation. It was going to be a long wait. Let this be a lesson to Tires Plus you have crappie service your store brand goes the way K mart, Sears and the Radio Shack's of the World. That store manager screwed me over when I needed them most. Tires Plus Ankeny is always a busy place but it is on the Northeast side of Ankeny so not in Ankeny's Busy Shopping District. They have always tried to get me in for miscellaneous repairs as little as changing the wiper blades during the rainy season. Today I have a slow leak in my tire and that makes the low tire light and bell indicator to keep reminding me to get it done!! They are looking it over and know like always I will be on my way and be safely back on the road. read more

Ended up with a nail in the tire and our dealership quoted us a bit too high so we were recommended to come here for a second opinion on whether it could be fixed or if we needed a new tire. They quoted us $50 less than the dealership. Unfortunately the tire could not be fixed as to where the nail was, but they were able to get my husband in and out quickly without any hassle! They even gave a military discount which helped even further when you are not expecting a new tire (as rarely you do). Overall great and fast service! And they have great pricing! read more

Don't come here!!! First of all they are expensive! When I came here to patch my tire up my alignment in my vehicle was good after they did work on my car my car alignment was immediately mest up having my car tug hard to the left. When I went back to them to see what happen the manager said you might have hit something! I said you have to be kidding me and he told me how much it was to get a re-alignment! I should have just went to discount tire they would have patched it up for free and not ruin my alignment up now I have to spend 90 dollars for a 30 dollar job... Store #329905: 310 Ne Delaware Ave, Ankeny, IA 50021-6600 I set an appointment online at 10:00am, 6/3/16 for 11:00am 6/5/16 for a set of Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval AS quoted @ $77.00/tire + installation. When I arrived at the store, I was told that these tires were not in stock and had not been in stock for quite some time. Before I could get a word in, the rep tried to sell me a set of Firestone FR710 tires ($81.89/tire); an inferior tire for approximately the same price as the tires I had requested. There were 2 days of lead time for the store to give me a call and let me know that these tires were not available. Instead, I wasted a half hour driving to the store. By not alerting me that these tires were not in stock, they got me into the store, and tried to sell me on a more expensive AND different class product. Update 6/7: received a phone call and an apology from the regional manager. Very pleased with his candor and helpfulness. Was able to get the tires I wanted ordered through another of his stores. read more

A close family member stopped in this Tire Plus location today with a single puncture in a single tire. Upon inspection of the tire it was communicated that it's severity was beyond patching and that not only would that single tire need replaced but that ALL four tires would need replaced. The absolute absurdity of the recommendation is beyond comprehension. First, as long as the new tire is the same size as the others your car will be fine. Second, most punctures can be satisfactorily fixed with a patch or with a temporary fix of 'Fix a Flat' which upon application does not mean your punctured tire is no longer patchable, as the Tire Plus technician communicated. This attempt to defraud and malign deserves no future business. My recommendation: don't touch this outlet with a 10 foot pole. They're crooks. read more

I followed the channels offered to try to resolve my issue with the Ankeny, Iowa Tires Plus, all the way to the Area manager. He was very nice and assured me he would do what it took to make me happy. We made an agreed upon plan for me to be reimbursed for the cost of a proper oil change and I followed through. I called the area manager as planned and he said he would have the Ankeny manager call me right away to arrange for the reimbursement. I waited and waited but no call came, so I called the area manager again but got no answer. I left a message explaining I had never been contacted by Ankeny and to please call me. That was months ago! No call. I will never return to the Ankeny Tires Plus! read more

These people were caught trying to scam us for doing more to our car than necessary. We went in for a tire leak. They told us they weren't able to patch it and we needed a whole new tire. We took it somewhere else and they were able to patch it no problem. The biggest concern was when they called to tell us about the tire they mentioned that there was no oil on the dipstick. The oil had been changed a week prior. So my husband told them not to do anything and we would be picking the car up. When we arrived he checked the oil before we drove off and the oil was at the full level. When the front desk clerk was asked about this he proceeded to become extremely defensive screaming and yelling at us in front of other customers. He was yelling how we knew nothing about cars and there was a lot more wrong with our car than it needing oil. The mechanic came in and told us he must have read the dipstick wrong and he apologized. But the front clerk couldn't get over it and continued to scream and yell at us. They were trying to get us to buy a whole new tire when we didn't need to and also they wanted to change the oil when it wasn't needed at all. They lied to us and then became defensive to us when confronted about the lie. Buy 3, get 1 free seems like a deal, until you hear all of the other things that "need" done. $500 turned into $1500 over the course of 3 hours sitting there waiting. And while they'll air up your tires for free, you'll sit in front of the door they told you to pull up to for a half hour before they get to it. I guess the employees conversations are more important than customers. (There were two guys leaning on the counter talking when I was there). I went here for two new tires. When I came back, they told me I needed all my breaks replaced IMMEDIATELY and wanted me to pay them 800 to do so. I said no, went home, and fixed the back breaks (which weren't even that bad) myself for less than 200, parts included. Upon inspection, I realized that there was NO reason why I should replace the front breaks, they were just fine! I then got to looking at the tires I bought and figured out that they put one on that was the wrong size!! They did refund, but the event was a hassle and they very obviously lied to me about the breaks. read more

Stopped in right before closing for a tire repair - they were very nice about it, however they said that because I had two punctures within 8 inches of each other, they would be unable to patch them and that I would need to replace all 4 tires (4-wheel drive vehicle). I smelled a rat so I drove home on my spare and took it to my local tire place. Of course they were able to patch the two holes, no problem. My husband thinks they saw a lone woman in from out of town and saw dollar signs. I hope it is company policy that kept them from repairing the tire, as opposed to unscrupulous salesmanship, either way, it shows that they are more interested in lining their pockets than helping the customer. read more
