I have taken both of my cars to this location for the last 6 years ever since I moved to the area. Tire choice has a problem with their system and won't even acknowledge the issue. I was grossly over charged for new spark plugs in my 2012 Ford Expedition. They charged me $58 per spark plug plus $36 labor a total of $760 to put new spark plugs in my car. When confronted on the issue I said the $58 is likely the cost of a pack of 8 and they charged me for a quantity of 8 essentially 64 spark plugs. When I told them the ford dealership quoted me $74 for an 8 pack of their platinum OEM spark plugs they refused to listen. So here it is now time for the action. Make this viral people! I was willing to understand the mistake but their location on Centerville in Chesapeake and their corporate headquarters are refusing to recognize this gross overcharge. A 15 year repeat customer, had to finally come pick up my vehicle after being pushed back 3 days for a wheel alignment. I was told the bill would be almost 2700 dollars for both upper ball joints, left inner tie rod, idler, and pitman arms. I decided to do the job myself in one day with 400 dollars of moog chassis parts. I brought the vehicle back to get alignment and they drug me around for 3 three days saying they were busy with big jobs. I went and got my vehicle. Extremely frustrated with my experience here. I was the first one in the door today at 7:30AM with an appointment I made online through their website for a VA state inspection. I was told when I walked in that their appointment system is not for state inspections and that there were 4 cars in front of mine that had been left overnight. I was told that it could be completed and that I would be getting a call in the afternoon. The afternoon came and went. I called around 3:30 to check the status and was told that one car was ahead of mine. Knowing they closed at 7, I went in at 6:30PM thinking surely it would be done. My car was in the garage in a bay. I was told that the inspection was started but not finished as parts for another vehicle came in. When I explained that I had to have the car back for the next day, they brought the car around and told me that if I could leave it, there was still ONE CAR AHEAD OF MINE. Brought two vehicles in for State Inspections and was told to leave them they would be done the next morning. Well 2 days later and they still had not done the inspections, so I stopped there on my way home from work to find out what was going on, and was told by Mike the manager, that we should never have been told that the cars would be ready the next day, due to the fact that "THEY ONLY HAVE ONE PERSON WORKING BOTH REPAIRS AND INSPECTIONS" He showed me a pile of inspection work orders that were stacking up. I asked for the corporate phone number and his comment was I'll give it to you, and maybe if you call and complain we can get more people working here. Never do business with this place. Second car they messed up. Took car in Friday for tires, oil change and inspection. Had an appointment called me ten minutes till closing with an excuse won't be done till tomorrow. Saturday pick it up, didn't do the inspection and can't do it till next week. I leave to go out of town for the day. Get to 64 and tire sensor goes off. Monday diving back oil light comes on, I stop at another location on the way back. Three tires over filled by more than 10psi over and one 10psi under. They reseat the system oil light goes out tire sensor goes out. Almost home light comes back on. Next morning I have oil all over my drive way. Car is towed up to the store, they have it all day, I pick it up just before closing. Said it was a bad washer, but said they would redo oil change on them. When I asked to refund the original oil change he said he would have to talk to corporate. I decided to bring my car here a couple days ago to have new tires put on and decided to swing back by and grab the key and take my car somewhere else because waiting almost 48 hours for service is ridiculous. It's obvious that this establishment is understaffed and they do nothing to hire more people to make it more efficient. There is also no sense of urgency to help customers. If you're wanting more substantial work done, I would recommend looking elsewhere. They fixed a window motor once and didn't re-install some of the fasteners which made my door rattle. That said, this TQ location has been through a couple of management changes since then, so maybe the non-tire-related repair quality is on a more positive glide slope these days. I can't speak more highly of this treadquarters. I bought an essentially new 4Runner with 10k miles on it a week ago. The dealership really screwed me and broke the taps off the oil filter cap, causing all of my oil to leak out. To make matters worse, the dealership then used RTV to glue the shit back together instead of making it right and fixing it. I called treadquarters, who advised me to bring it up there. They got me in immediately, fIund the problem, and took the time to physically show me what had been done. I cant thank the staff enough for their knowledge, attentiveness, and timely diagnostics. This establishment is one of the most unprofessional auto shops I've found in Chesapeake thus far... They fail to update customers on their cars & when I called the next day to make sure my car was getting fixed he told me why but never tried to call or communicate these reasons prior, they simply were just holding my car for no reason at this point. They also fail your car for inspection over the smallest things (not for safety or protocol) for more money. Afterwards, I took my car to a different body shop & they charged me less than half of what tire choice charges. Also come to find out Tire choice was adding in maintenance prices that were unnecessary in order to better my vehicle & for it to pass inspection. I received very good service here for my flat tire! I was an hour away from leaving for work when I realized hat my tire was 100% flat and they were accommodating with my situation and allowed my neighbor to kindly drop it off for me and set up my appointment! I went there a few hours after it was ready to picked up and was told that they just started a new car and that they would begin my tire application in 45 minutes to an hour if I wanted to come back. I like that they told me straight up and gave me the option to return when they were ready. The whole service once I returned only took about 20 minutes and was a great deal of $25 for a patch and replacement! Will def come back if I ever have any future tire needs. read more

I had to have two tires replaced. I decided to get the state inspection done early to save a trip back in a few weeks. When this place was tread quarters they always treated me fairly. I was not able to pick up the car so my wife want to help me. They gave her a laundry list of "issues" that caused the car to fail inspection. I have worked on care my entire life and I knew they were trying to take advantage of her. Just to be sure and take my opinion out of it I took it to a trusted mechanic that laughed and confirmed my thoughts. He said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the shocks and they were just looking to make some money. I checked the reviews on Google and it looks like others are having the exact same issues with these guys. I would avoid this place like the plague and go to any other place. I was headed to the beach and was a few hours from home when I had to stop at Tread Quarters. I had an awful noise coming from my car a day after having my tires rotated. Phil the manager was able to greet me, explain that it could have been a number of issues and they would take a look at the vehicle. Within an hour we were back on the road after finding out the Jiffy Lube I went to the day before didn't tighten my lug nuts back on tight. Phil and the team were very professional and helpful. They are not there simply for the extra money and their mechanics will pout out what is necessary and what they recommend in the future with regards to repairs. After taking my wife's vehicle to two other shops on to be told that the sound and vibrations of the front axle were coming from the Cvt transmission and that it was time for a new transmission or new vehicle, Mac, one of the mechanics, correctly diagnosed the sound as a wheel bearing. He also pointed out that some of the suspension parts were leaking grease and while they were not out of specs they would have to be addressed in the future. All in all, parts repaired and an alignment, gems total $520. Fair less than the cost of a new transmission or a new vehicle. As a husband that deploys, I will be completely comfortable sending my wife there in the future and have no concerns with them boosting their bottom line with her lack of familiarity with vehicle repa read more

I have been fixing my friends vehicles for inspection and this shop told one of them that he needed new control arm bushings and ball joints. They wanted to replace the whole control arm instead of just the bushings, for more money presumably. I replaced them myself and when he took his vehicle back for the re-inspection, they still tried to fail it for the same thing! He eventually convinced them that they were brand new and they passed it. That is just terrible and makes me think they didn't even look at the vehicle. Wish I could put zero stars! I took my van there for an inspection. They said I needed front pads (ok no problem there) then they said that I needed some work done on the parking brakes (again ok no problem) Then they said that I needed the brake dust covers replaced because it affected the parking brake. Hmmmm this raised a red flag. They said they where rusted and that the parking brake shoe rested against the dust shield aka backing plate. Huge red flag! Then I asked how much it would cost. I can't remember the exact amount after they said it was over $1100 to do this work. I had them put a rejection sticker on it. I ordered the parts from advance and replaced all the brakes including the parking brake shoes and I replaced the backing plate aka rear dust shields. All parts totaled $140 and took me about 4 hours total with nothing more that a floor jack an basic tools. That would be a total of $250 an hour if I would have paid them and I am sure it wouldn't have taken them 4 hours to do it. After I completed the work myself I took it back for them to put a valid inspection sticker on my van and (wait for it this is the best part) THEY LEFT MY WHEEL LUGS LOOSE AND MY TIRE ALMOST CAME OFF THE VAN WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK!!!!! These people are either incompetent or Complete crooks. Please never trust these people with your vehicle! Someone else might not be so lucky. I made it home and figured out that it was my lug nuts that where loose but the next person might not. This is the first bad review I have ever written but I feel I must inform other on what happened to me. read more
