Honestly, the pizza was disappointing. The crust did not stand up to the thick layer of cheese, making it difficult to pick up a slice. The toppings were not very plentiful or have much flavor. Plus they had run out of mushrooms. The woman who took our order did not drink beer so she had no recommendations. On the other hand, she did allow us to change the TV channel so we could watch the World Cup match, and the space is cute. read more

Picked up a pizza while enjoying a beer at the brewery next door -- such a great setup! They also serve beer here and have outdoor seating, but the real star is the pizza. With several breweries just steps away, this spot is perfectly located for grabbing a bite between drinks. We had the pepperoni pizza, and it was excellent -- crispy crust, fresh toppings, and great flavor. Pizza Flavors Bianca Maximus Buffalo Bud's BBQ Traditional- cheese Carnivore Margherita Order I ordered a chef salad, a personal Bianca, and a large Maximus to go. Cute pizza place by the Mill, excellent pizza and NY style. We got a large pizza with vegetables (mushroom and spinach) and it was really BIG! we ate 1/2 and were full. Definitely enough for 3-4 people. We sat outside with our pup and once we got our food we walked over to the Mill and ate at the brewery. The pizza came out fast too! So good service. Some friends and I did a beer tour of the Mills on a chilly Saturday. For lunch, we stopped at Tipsy Tomato. There's not tons of seating inside, but it wasn't busy so we sat near the kitchen where you watch them make the pizza. The woman taking orders (maybe the owner?) was friendly and patient as I decided what to get. I can put back some pizza, so I ordered the full size meat lover pie. For the price I figured I'd eat half and then take the rest home. The pizzas are big! They're also a happy medium between thin crust (not my favorite) and a thick crust. The pizza is a little pricey (mine came to about $30 with tip included), but the quality did make me feel that it was worth it. Would go back! read more

Came here today and absolutely slammed the personal Bianca pizza. My boyfriend had the carnivore which included ham, sausage, and pepperoni. The service was friendly and quick and food was available pretty quickly. I thought the price was fair for the quality and size of the pizza. Perfect place for a date or family outing. Indoor and outdoor (patio) seating, though the place is relatively small overall. Groups of more than 6 probably wouldn't sit comfortably in there, though there's a lot of space outside or around the Rocky Mount Mills campus. If I wasn't so stuffed from my pizza, I would have loved to try the various dessert pizzas they had. Today, there was a lemon blueberry one on special that consisted of vanilla ricotta and so much more! The regular s'mores and other pizzas seemed neat too. 10/10 recommend. read more

Really good food, but bad service at the bar. I sat at the bar, had the chicken kabobs which were really good. The bartender (my waitress) never asked if i wanted more water when my glass was empty, never asked if I wanted another club special when my glass was empty, never asked how my meal was, never asked if I needed my ticket, never asked if I needed change. I had to let her know when I needed anything. I had cash sitting with my ticker for 20 minutes and she never said anything even though she walked by several times. Had she asked "do you need change" i would have said no but instead I just left her a small tip and walked out. Hope she figured out the money with my ticket was for payment. read more

I was in Rocky Mount this week and we get pizza from here Friday night(with what seemed like a 1,000 other people!) My friend and I ordered one of their speciality pizzas and it was sooooo good-the exact name of it escapes me, but it had bbq sauce, chicken, bacon and onions on it and the flavors were amazing! There was one woman managing all of the orders and she was working very hard, in face even the young guys making the food seemed to really be enjoying their job and really hustling! We were told it would be a 30 minute wait which I didn't think was bad for the crowd flow. I hate to say after 50 minutes and our food wasn't ready, I asked and was a bit disappointed that no one called our name to inform us the food was ready as we were seating in the restaurant the whole time. The pizza must have been sitting for a bit, bc the woman offered to heat it up for me, which I politely declined, bc I really just wanted to eat and not wait any longer. One of my best friend's was telling me how amazing the pizza was and I'm just like, "yeah, it's pizza, and it's from a brick oven; not an entirely new concept." Yeah, I was being a(n) ______ (insert your own expletive). We ordered a large pie and I inquired on the wait time. They do not skimp on the cooking time with any fast baking ingredients. There's a nice selection of brews, ample cider options and normal drinks as well. They offer a front porch (that's a patio for non-southerners) and a back patio open to dining. You could also opt to walk your meal and beverage (if you get in a plastic cup) to other areas on the Mills campus. The pizza arrived after about 20 minutes and it was absolutely perfect. Crisp but not too crispy. The cheese was melted but not stop stringy to where you feel like it's going to be caught in your throat when you try to swallow. The toppings were fresh. Based on a recommendation, we decided to stop in and order a pizza to take back with us to Raleigh. We were still full from lunch or we would have eaten there. Note, they close at 4pm on Saturday, and re-open at 6. It was 3:45, so we had the place to ourselves. They had three specialty pizzas that were $25 each, but we really wanted to try one with a red sauce, so we ordered one with house-made sausage and roasted onion. It was $21. Apparently they only have one size. Fine with us. We watched him toss and stretch the dough, top it and put it in the wood oven. When it came out, he drizzled what had to be oil on top, and then hand-grated cheese on top. Sold! We had to ride in the car with that delicious smelling pie the 45 minutes home, but couldn't resist past that point. The crust and sauce were both excellent, although the crust I'm sure would have been even better fresh out of that oven. Sausage and the roasted onion...both outstanding.
