Fun activity for a girls night out or date night! We signed up for a 5:30 class on a Saturday and had the best time at Tipsy Tie Dye! Tipsy Tie Dye is BYOB, but they have a full bar area where they offer you cups and chill your wine if you would like. After getting ourselves situated, we were instructed on all the different item options that we could dye. They offer a large variety of items from clothing to towels and even dog outfits. My friend and I selected aprons and received a $15 gift card to a local pottery store that sponsored the aprons. The employees at the store do an excellent job of walking you through the tie dye process. They had us select our designs and always helped us if we looked lost or confused. They offer a lot of color options and you can also create your own. At the end, they give you the choice of taking your item(s) home with instructions on how to wash/dry them or you can pay for them to do it. We had kevin assist us with another party. It was two hosts. We were shown different design techniques and got to choose patterns we like from there ig page and google. What a fun activity to do with the girls! My girls and I met here to celebrate our friends birthday. The shop is super cute! It even had a tent outside which was selling already made tie dye items. We were greeted by the staff who even though they were working with other groups, they made sure to make us feel welcomed and informed on what to do to get started. Since it's BYOB and BYOF I brought Trulys and my friends brought snacks. They had an ice bucket for us to put them in which was a plus. They also provide cups which you can take home. We started off picking out the item we wanted to create. I decided on sweat shorts and my friends got sweatpants, a shirt, a bag and a baby onesie. We were taught the different ways to create a design on the shirt and I decided on doing the "crunch." We also looked up some inspo on our phones and the staff helped us choose what would achieve the style/color chosen. Towards the back, it looks like an area where you can pour beer but it's actually where you pour your colors. I went for neutral colors so I mixed and matched a couple. Once we found our colors, we headed over to the sink where we would saturate the garment with the colors chosen. They have an option to leave the item with them and they'll wash and dry it for $7.50 or you can take it home and do it yourself with directions given on a card. I had a blast at Tipsy Tie Dye. I went on a Thursday when they had a combine class for cocktail making and tie dye. First the place is so cute! The staff is super friendly and made you feel like you have known each other for a while. We started off with the cocktail class. We made a Paloma drink and a spicy margarita. All the juices used were natural and they tasted amazing. Afterwards we started doing the tie dye. I choose to do a hoodie for my son and my friends chose the turkish towel. I came here on a Friday night for a girls night and it was absolutely fabulous! We were a group of five and shared the experience with another group of four gals. It is a two hour experience with BYOB and BYOF. We got catering from Anthony David's. With our experience we were able to dye a variety of clothing, a pair of sweatpants, shirts, sweatshirts, Turkish towels, etc. I chose sweatpants. Kevin was super friendly and showed us the three types of ways to dye. He was real with telling us what looks good, which definitely helped all of us. Tipsy tie dye was a wonderful experience. The staff there was extremely helpful in guiding you to complete your tie dye dreams! I love the idea that you can drink while doing it. It can be done quickly or you can take your time. It was so hard to pick the item of clothing to tie dye (which they have samples so you can try everything on if needed). Then choose the style then the colors. So be prepared before going to save yourself the back and forth! And you can even pay an extra $8 and have them finish and rinse and wash the item for you. We had such a great experience at tipsy tie dye . The environment is completely adorable and Kevin & Katie were incredibly helpful. It was a fun night of good music, wine, and getting crafty. Kevin was very knowledgeable about different tie dye techniques and talked us through everything. It was definitely a busy night for 8PM on a Friday which isn't a bad thing, but if you are more cautious with social distancing, I would recommend a week night for less people. Tipsy Tie Dye is a great addition to Hoboken. My group of 18 rented out the space for a local night out. The team at TTD is a pleasure to work with from the first point of contact to the last. After you settle in their team will help you pick out the item that you want to Tie Dye - ranging from what you would expect, shirts, hoodies, sweats to what you might not like baby blankets. From there you get to work tying up your piece. They have the most common approaches on guides at each table and sample pieces throughout the store so you can get inspired. Once you are satisfied with your tying, you head over to the dye station. This was my favorite part of the evening. They have about 10-12 colors "on tap" for you to use in your masterpiece and you can mix them together or dilute a color to get what you are looking for. At that point, you head to the sinks so that you can start covering your piece in dye. This is where my type A tendencies didn't exactly thrive. But it was a ton of fun and I loved opening up my shirt the next day to see what it looked like. While we did a buy-out, this would also be a great spot to visit on a date night or with kids. read more

Had high hopes for this workshop and the shop looks nice- HOWEVER, it couldn't have been a more disappointing (& expensive) experience. - there was zero instruction on how to tie-dye (they simply pointed you to a printout to read). You'd be better off at home with a YouTube instructional. - some staff was friendly, but had not been trained to help guide people thru the tie-dye process at all - the person who seemed to run the shop had an incredibly terrible attitude and made us feel as though we were a bother (even though we had booked and paid for the reservation a week early). he repeatedly tried to push us to drink, and we politely declined. An initial ask was fine- but by the fourth time (in less than an hour), it was kind of uncomfortable. (And this was an afternoon class with children). *sigh If you're at all interested learning to tie dye or properly dying garments- this is definitely NOT the place. Went to this establishment yesterday for the first time and was greeted with the nastiest passive aggressive attitude from Kevin the minute we walked in. I asked for assistance and was denied help during the process. I would like to point out that my table had the only black people (3) besides my gf in the business and we were clearly not treated the same as everyone else. To make matters worse, after I was denied help Kevin VOLUNTEERED to assist my white gf directly after refusing to help me. I will not be coming back and don't know what the attitude was for but did not appreciate this blatant display of micro aggression. Went to Tipsy Tie Dye tonight for my cousins "mini" bachelorette. There are literally NO words to describe how amazing this place is! Right from when we walked in the front door, all 3 staff members were beyond helpful! My older sister has brain cancer and walks with a cane & struggles to get on high stools, especially ones with no back. Instantly Katie (I think that was her name, I'm so sorry if I'm wrong, I'm terrible with names) realized that the stools they have might not work for her and like magic, she went next door to I think a bar and got her a cushioned bar stool with a back. This right there made my night, as I knew my sister would be comfortable. My younger sister, who was with us as well, is learning disabled. Jose, another one of the employees, had so much patience and sat with her helping her rubberband her shirt into a style she had really wanted. Watching the way he interacted with her and explained every step to her, honestly made her entire week! Kevin was beyond generous and kind. He not only modeled for us what we needed to do, he also was so funny and down to earth. I felt like I was hanging out with a friend that I've known for years. Walking in tonight, I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy myself because I knew I'd have to help both of my sisters (which would have been totally fine), but taking a step back and seeing how amazing the staff at Tipsy Tie Dye was to both of them really made me see that there are great people in this world. I cannot wait to get back to tie dye more things, as well as tell everyone that this is a must stop in Hoboken! What a fun experience! I am obsessed with tie dye so my friend surprised me as a birthday gift :) The first of its kind which is way more creative than a typical sip and paint or pottery. The owner was absolutely amazing, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. He assisted as needed and never hesitated or seemed annoyed with the oh so many questions we had. He let us take over the designs and tailor to our style with inputting suggestions. They have a range of attire to choose from, such as dog shirts, as well as color tap bar, what more could you ask for? Over rated over priced. Walked in they did not have much of a selection. Was low on stock to tie dye and said they would get shipment in two days. Great that doesn't help my group lol. You do alot of waiting instead of a whole experience it's more like baby steps stop baby steps wait baby steps begin. Some staff was nice most were not friendly & rude, specially the tall man. Sat us at a four person table we were a group of 3 and they had 2 strangers with us. Total of 5 of us at the 4 person table so they stuck a bar stool at the end and pretty much said make it work. I complained there wasn't enough room on the table for all of us to do our rubber band designs and she offered THE FLOOR LOL well for $65 I prefer not to sit my adult butt on the floor. Was looking for something fun to do for a friends birthday yesterday and came across this place, which was, by far, the most unique and fun birthday celebration. The owner (forgot his name) was so charming and accommodating! He walked us through the basics and even helped create a new tie dye pattern that I wanted to try out! Theres endless options of things to dye (masks, bags, scrunchies, sweats plus of course shirts). Although this is BYOB (always a fun time) all of dye colors are on TAP!! You can also mix and match colors to creat your own. I wish I could give this more that 5 stars because thats how AMAZING this experience was.
