There were only 10 participants (including ourselves), so it was not too rowdy at all. You're expected to bring your own wine and snacks for the event because it will last up to four hours (6-9pm) but time goes by quickly when you're having fun. There will be music playing while you paint and you're free to talk, so don't stress about this being taking super seriously. The painting is taken step-by-step and the instructor was a very patient young woman. She encouraged us to ask questions and request help if needed. She who knew her craft, but never looked down on us if we weren't painting exactly to the original material. After all, art is subjective. By the end of the event, you'll be able to take your painting home so it's encouraged to leave your signature. I felt incredibly proud of my work and it's a great conversation topic to go on about for the rest of the night. I would come back over and over again, as long as I have a partner with me. It's more fun with someone you know.

My friend and I selected aprons and received a $15 gift card to a local pottery store that sponsored the aprons. The employees at the store do an excellent job of walking you through the tie dye process. They had us select our designs and always helped us if we looked lost or confused. They offer a lot of color options and you can also create your own. At the end, they give you the choice of taking your item(s) home with instructions on how to wash/dry them or you can pay for them to do it. We decided to take our aprons home as the instructions they gave us were super clear! Overall, would highly recommend Tipsy Tie Dye as a fun evening activity!

I surprised the Mrs. on Valentine's Day and we had a scent-sational time here. It's set-up 'buffet style' - starting at one end of the room and you slowly make your way down a wall with an absurd amount of options for what catches your nose, then a section with various options (sizes/styles) for the container to house your eventual candle. Back to the 'bar' to start working on your candle (with the help of the amazing staff) and before you know it... you're done. (Well, you have to come back at a later time to get the finished product.) The 'activity' was slated for one full hour but within 30 minutes almost everyone was done and left. (We were the only couple imbibing - so we were there pretty close to the full 60 minutes.) I can't say enough good things about the crew behind the counter - ebullient to the nth degree. The shop looks amazing, the candle (I got to pick it up a week later) is great and most importantly: I got brownie points with the Mrs. for the unique and memorable experience. A bit on the pricy side but wick-ed fun, for sure. (If you know Montclair and this area specifically... parking can be a challenge.)

This space is a content creation haven filled with endless creative possibilities. Naturally you'd think this was a pop up selfie museum, but it's much more. Not only is this space designed to go down memory lane of the 80's & 90's, you can see and touch some relic gems. You can rent the space for special occasions such as Birthdays, art showcase, book signing, just to name a few, the whole space can be transformed to fit your individual need. Alicia's prices are crazy fair for the area - and if you sign up for your next class while you're there, you get 20% off your next class! Needless to say, for the price that was paid per person, we could have purchased premium liquor, watched a you tube video on how to measure (i certainly dont measure out my alcohol!) and done this at home. In response to Rob's comments, I didnt bash, I explained my experience. It was classified as a mixology class, not a tasting as Rob rebutted. There is certainly a difference. A few accommodations and my review would have been different!

Both times we have absolutely had a great time. The classes always seem to attract a (mostly) cool, laid-back crowd . The owner, Rob, is funny and tries to keep the mood light and fun. You can definitely tell he truly appreciates everyone's business and really tries to make sure everyone has a good time. Though I am an introvert at heart, I appreciate being pushed a little outside my comfort zone and being put at the bar to mix drinks. The hands on experience also helps you mingle with the others in the class. We will definitely return!
