I never write salons but tipsy is my favorite salon in south florida! I have come in for pedicures for years now and I am always impressed with the service, hospitality and atmosphere. Everything is always on point and I always feel relaxed. One of the main ladies (who is the manager I believe) has been here for years now and is always so hospitable and kind. I had an incident where someone took my wallet at the salon and she was so great and helpful. She helped me a lot and always checks in with me when I come in. I love it here. I almost never leave negative reviews, but this was genuinely one of the worst nail salon experiences I've ever had. The salon itself is clean, modern, and looks beautiful, which is why this review is so disappointing. Unfortunately, the technician I had (I believe his name was Tony) completely ruined my nails. I went in for UV gel, and the appointment took over two hours. Throughout the service, it was obvious he was struggling. He filed my natural nails down excessively before applying the gel, then filed over the gel so aggressively that it immediately started cracking around my cuticles. Instead of preventing the issue, he had to remove it and start the process all over again. Within just TWO DAYS, the nails were lifting and peeling. I ended up having to go back to my regular nail technician in New York to have everything removed and redone. The first thing she said when she saw my hands was, "Who did this to your nails? They're destroyed." Now my natural nails are incredibly thin, weak, and damaged from the excessive filing. I paid for a professional service and instead paid again to have someone else fix the damage. The salon may look nice, but the quality of the work I received was unacceptable. Not worth the money. Cost way more for the same services I've been getting back home for years. Was about $120 for a detox pedicure, gel manicure, and a flower design that I should have asked more questions about. Music was fun but if you plan on ordering wine, they only have about 4 choices. Definitely not what's on their online menu and it's going to cost more than a glass at Coopers Hawk around the corner. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went in for a dip on natural nails and explained my preferences to the technician, who agreed. However, throughout the process, I expressed my dissatisfaction, saying the nails didn't look good and the shape was crooked. He dismissed my concerns and continued. I was extremely upset and unhappy with the service. I usually spend hundreds on my nails to ensure they look good, especially since I have a shoot where they will be visible. This looks worse than anything I could have done myself. It's ridiculous that they're hiring just anyone these days. I left quietly and plan to contact my bank about this. read more

My Sister and I visited for The Tipsy Salonbar for the first time on Saturday to get a pedicure. We were greated warmly and sat down right away (we made appointments online prior to the visit). Kyle and Peter were our salon stylists. They were friendly, helpful and did a wonderdul job on our feet. Special requests for problem areas were addressed and we appreciate their receptiveness to our requests. Our nails look wonderdul and our feet are smooth and ready for sandal season. We were going on a cruise and were in the area for a couple days prior, we needed somewhere walkable so we booked Tipsy Salon bar. Very disappointed, they up charge for everything! Got gel nails and need polish removed? Charge, want gel polish? Charge, just kept tacking on the charges where every other salon we've been to does not! Our nails didn't turn out that great, my daughters started peeling g the next day, asked to have our toes filed and cut, my big toes was chopped to skin where it bled. Offered water and we had to pay. Would not recommend this place AT all! We felt once they found out we weren't local, they just kept taking on the charges upwards of $200! read more

When landing in the Fort Lauderdale area waiting for family to arrive, I was on the hunt for a nail salon to update my gel manicure. I'm extremely picky about my nails but didn't have the time to visit my favorite salon in CT before travel, much to my distress. I took the risk to consult Yelp for some spots and decided to pop into Tipsy. The space is clean, gorgeous and I love the play on words - tips = nails / tipsy = there's an actual bar with wine inside! The modern atmosphere was minimalist in many ways (no clunky work stations, sleek table stations) and the team was very welcoming. The young lady who did my nails was wonderful - kind, reassuring, and professional. She did a great job and I left feeling great about the way my nails look. Now the downside. I guess things are really different up north! In CT I spend 60-70 for a full hard (builder) gel refill which includes everything, including a choice of gel polish on top. Here, there was an upcharge for everything and I was caught by surprise when getting the bill. The "builder gel manicure" is $60 and allows you to choose from a selection of builder gel colors (whites, pinks, nudes) with brands from Zen and others I didn't recognize. My usual salon uses CND. However, that's IT. I found out after, they charged extra $7 for SHAPING MY NAILS. What?! That's just part of a manicure - mind you I didn't change the shape either. Plus an extra $10 for the color of the builder gel, which I assumed was included in the base $60... not. There were additional up charges but I was too frustrated to remember each of them in my confusion. The 4 stars are for the incredible service rendered, she was incredibly meticulous and kind! If it were for the pricing system, it would be a 1... The team was very kind although i was visibly confused. I paid what was due plus tip of course and vow to stick to my salon next time! read more

Not great. My nails are not even and the paint job isn't great. Also, there are chunks of that thin layer of nail (that comes from not filing correctly) sticking out of the ends of my nails. Also, when you walk in, it looks like there are many beautifully arranged colors to choose from, except those are just for show; the ones you can choose from are on the opposite wall that you cannot see from walking by, not arranged well, many bottles close to empty. The one I selected was very old, the tech had a hard time opening it, and it never dried well bc it was goopy/sticky. Also my nail tech seemed very dazed; kind of like in the movie Get Out. I get the dipping powder and they always last 4+weeks which is much better than other salons I have visited. All their staff do excellent work! The location and concept is pretty genius. Who doesn't like to relax and get pampered. Give me a drink too! I was never even offered a drink though? If you want to upsell and bring up the price of my tab, offer me a drink. I guess they though they'd get me with the nail art. I really thought they did a nice job. I was however, very disappointed a week later when my gel manicure was peeling off. The icing on the cake is that they charged me $5 a nail for nail art...they charged me for 10 nails when I only had nail art on 8 of my 10 fingers. If you see Mickey, she will insult your eyebrows to add another service. she doesn't give a good manicure. and you leave there with your hands dry and I was in tears by the time I was done. I was ready to go. So from now on, I will only see Ana Rodriquez. Mickey should be more kind of people. I told her that I had another eyebrow person that I go to European Wax Center and I was very happy, and she continued to tear them down. She told me I should look in my phone at them at that moment because I should let her make them better . So I removed the polish that she added so I paid $43 for gel removal & insults. The girl who did my manicure did a vg job. She used 2 coats of polish and top coat and cleaned off any streaks around the nails. Unfortunately I can't remember her name. She was young with dark hair American. The barstools at the counter where she did my nails are really old, the finish is flaking off and they look terrible.
