I work across the street from this place. For years I laughed at the ridiculous name and never even remotely considered going there. A co-worker recently said the food is actually pretty good. I checked out the yelp reviews, saw 4 stars, and thought why not give it a shot? I gave it a shot and will never return. Four of us went in there for lunch today. I get that it's a bar, but wow is it dark in there for being the middle of the day. While waiting for the waitress to come around, I shifted in my chair and my clothes stuck to the chair a bit. Dried beer? Food? I don't know. Too dark in there to tell. I ordered a pastrami and swiss sandwich. The menu said "over 1/2 pound of pastrami". I didn't have a scale with me, but I'd bet my life savings the amount of pastrami on my sandwich was nowhere near 1/2 pound. I would guess it was a lot closer to 1/4 pound than 1/2. The sandwich came with nothing. No fries, no chips, no pickle. Nothing. Just a sandwich on a plate. For $8.95. The service was not good, either. Our waitress was not very attentive. She messed up one guy's order (asked for mushrooms and no onion on burger, got onion but not mushrooms). We had to wait for silverware and napkins. We had to wait for a while after everyone was done eating for her to bring the bill. The bottom line is it was every bit the dump that I expected it would be until fooled by my co-workers input and the 4-star reviews on this site. Might be perfectly fine for getting drunk and playing trivia, but I definitely wouldn't recommend eating there. read more

Yep. A year later the tipsy wings are still the bomb. They go great with the Sunday bloody mary special. We have been here off and on for the past year and service has been hit or miss but today the bartender Megan was great and friendly. I always get their big Cuban sandwich and ofc tipsy wings. Worst service ever! The Chicken Cordon Bleu.... apparently the "cook" doesn't know the difference between ham and turkey. When brought to the attention of the dim witted waitress (who can't tell the difference between ranch and Italian dressing), she tells me the cook insists it's ham. He then comes out and proceeds to full on argue with me and yell at me over the ham/turkey. He blamed his distributor and said they changed the type of ham they normally bring. Did they change the ham to turkey? It looked like turkey. It tasted like turkey. It was turkey. The chicken tenders were actually chicken but it was too bad they were cooked in the same oil as the fish. All we could taste was fish. Since the new owners have taken over, the device has diminished. The quality of food...even worse. If I could give this zero stars I would. Save yourself the time. read more

Ordered a carry out and was craving wings and chicken Alfredo pizza. Megan, the bartender that took my order over the phone, was awesome. Boneless wings are hand cut , hand battered, light and f*cking delicious. The wing sauce, blue cheese dressing and butter Parmesan sauce are all homemade and amazing. They didn't have Alfredo sauce to make the pizza I wanted but I did get a small square with pepperoni and mushroom and dipped it in the butter parm sauce( I almost died). They had me at Sweetwater wings! Disclaimer: their wings are similar to Sweetwater wings and were pretty tasty, however, they are NOT Sweetwater wings! Sweetwater wings have way more flavor. The boneless wings are bomb! Fresh chicken, cut up, tossed in flour and fried to perfection! The only thing missing was the Tabasco sauce. As soon as they add Tabasco to the condiments tray it's going to be hard to keep me out of the place. Their Soco sauce is really good!! I was a little nervous about he service reading the reviews, surprisingly we had a good experience, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, the bartender was extremely nice and welcomed us back! Tell your friends you're at Tipsy McStaggers and they'll probably laugh at you. However, aside from the cartoonish name, this place isn't too bad. There's quite a few shall we say "iffy" bars in Warren, and this place is a nice haven in an otherwise scary biker bar area. The bar is clean and shiny and the management really tries all different ways to lure customers in. One cool thing they have is the Tipsy Tower Challenge. It's one of those Man Vs. Food things with a 5lb burger, a basket of fries and some cole slaw. My friend did it. He got a t-shirt, his picture on the wall and his $25 meal for free. Plus, it's a fun time. Karaoke is the main draw of this place for my friends and I and it's here quite a lot. Nothing makes a wild night more wild than karaoke. Okay, there are other things, but karaoke is legal. The food is above average bar fare, which is nice. The waitresses are all, ahem, talented. They don't dress like they're working at Hooters (and they certainly seem smarter than that), but they accentuate what they should to earn tips. Everyone is quite nice and you'll often find the owner floating about making sure you're having a good time. All in all, Tipsy's is a good local bar to have a fun night after work with friends. First time at Tipsy McStaggers. Went there with my ELITE sister. It was on a Sunday around 12:30 and there were possibly two other cars in the parking lot. We looked at each and she said "I wonder if it is open". Well, in Michigan in late November it is freezing outside. So, we both get ready to open the door to the frigid cold and as fast as we could we go to the front door. It opens!!! Yay!!!!! Boy, are we ever happy. The place was empty except for the waitress. I make a mundane statement like, "oh, really busy are we"! She rolls her eyes like I'm not the only one that has ever said that! LOL. So, me and my sissy choose where we are going to sit. The waitress is johnny on the spot and asks us what we would like to drink. Of course we order some red wine, yummy. We also ordered an appetizer - Tipsy Skins which are deep-fried potato skins and they are filled with sauerkraut, corned feef and covered with Swiss cheese - OMG, this is a meal in itself - you know good comfort food. I had also ordered a cup of their beef-barley soup - just the way I love it. My sister ordered "The Russian" sandwich which looked great. By the time we were finished you could have rolled me out of there!!! My sister had dinner all ready for her husband - 1/2 sandwich and some Tipsy Skins. On the east side of southeast Michigan I really could not find a fabulous place other than in St. Clair Shores, but now I definitely have a place to go to on 12 Mile Rd. just west of Van Dyke in Warren, Michigan. Average food average drinks wings have good flavor but were undercooked. We went in and tried to use the machine to play club keno the machine kept my money and didn't register credit to play the lottery. The manager feed his dollar into the machine and it kept his money. He could see it was broken. So his solution was to give me an 800 number to the mi lottery. He said it not our machine so I can't do anything about it. I believe if your establishment has machines(which they have a few) you should be able to service the machine or refund the machine since you're obviously making money from it. I consider that bad business. I'll never go back to this place. read more

So, I go into tipsys on a Friday at 645. I let them know that I had friends coming up to throw darts and have some drinks. The waitress was super nice and I was excited for a fun night with friends. I showed up early and said friends were supposed to meet me at 830. 8 comes around and I'm approached by a waitress that says "we need your table". I proceeded to tell her that I had friends coming to meet me and where was I supposed to put my darts??? There was no other table around me. Her puzzled look said everything I needed to know, I wasn't gonna be able to play. I asked for my check which she was happy to do. I will never go back. Poor customer service and if you booked a party, figure out how to accommodate your already paying customers. Low class. read more

My friend is in town & I really wanted to hear him sing karaoke like old times. We weren't far from Tipsy's, so this is where we landed. I checked out Yelp & saw the high star rating, so I figured it was a good find. Boy, was I wrong! First of all, the parking lot is super small & awkward. The bar was busy but we managed to snag a booth in the back. The waitress came to our table quickly, took our order & delivered a round of 6 drinks very quickly. So far, so good, right? We took the opportunity to move to a booth closer to the darts (same area). After our waitress left the bill for that round, it went downhill. We had to flag another waitress to help get our waitress back. It was just painful to get a round of drinks for the rest of the night. Then she left her tray at our table, even after she came back to charge for shots that she never collected for an hour earlier. She was nice but service sucked. She took care of the table next to us, so it's not like she could forget about us! For the record, we're not jerks & good tippers, so we didn't give her any reason to avoid us. The beer selection was pretty mediocre. They have a long list but it's mostly popular brands. I wasn't really impressed. The prices are great though! $3.25 for a Labatt Blue Light! I bought 4 beers & a Jack & Coke for $17. She did not charge us for the Diet Coke. My friend said it was a generous pour too. We ordered shots, which were pretty standard. This place stinks, literally. I got a mixture of sauerkraut, maybe vomit, gross air freshener, and musty odors throughout the night. It was a huge turn off. The pizza at the next table looked appealing, but the stench in this place would prevent me from ordering any food. The karaoke was kinda lame & the music during the break was even worse. It was blaring so loud, no one could even have a conversation without screaming. However, when they played karaoke, you could barely hear them sing or when they called names for the next singer. How can you go wrong with a name like Tipsy McStaggers? I giggle every time I drive by. Functionally a bar grille, Tipsy McStagger's comes with a sense of ironic humour, consistently decent juicy burgers, and lots of beer. Leave pretension for Troy and Birmingham's snooty drinkeries. The laughter rolls out the door, the tables are comfortable, and you can just as easily spend two or three hours after work chilling out, relaxing, and socializing. Staff don't pressure you into ordering more or clearing out your table for the next sort. They chat with easy grace, they refill your drinks regularly, and pop up mostly whenever you need them. Irish medicine is served up here and served up well. You can get the required array of Irish brews on tap, and snag a good cider if your mood varies. A pint of Guinness and a plate of chips can soothe whatever ails you, and if it can't, there's nothing another Black 'n Tan won't fix. The food is tasty enough to settle whatever the hellish workday throws at you. Parking is not a problem but getting out of the lot is a pain during rush hour. Tipsy's will no longer be a go to for lunch or after work hang out. Myself and co-workers have given more the enough chances. We always call ahead to let the waitstaff know how many we have coming and if we are eating and drinking etc. The food quality has gone down, the timeliness of both food and beverages coming out is just terrible and really kills the vibe of the entire hanging out experience. There is one waitress in particular who every time we have her, she ends up apologizing for so much because EVERYTHING gets messed up. The final straw was a couple of weekends ago, we were there for a surprise party. We again called ahead informed them of the time, how many people and if food and drinks were happening. Half the food orders were wrong. Half the drink orders were wrong and the service was just terrible. We were given excuse after excuse to what the problem was. Again, no problem. We are here to have nice time and not in a rush. However, you never feel good about a place when your server tries to blame you for her order mess ups. It was as if we we were unwanted. Our waitress asked to cash us out early, which ok no big deal you wanna get paid. Not a single other staff member came over to our table after we cashed out. We were there to hang out and have a great night out. We were left with empty glasses and an awkward silence that our business was not wanted. The location of the bar is in an area that is notorious for being rough, however we were so hopeful for Tipsy's to be that gem where you could go and hang out and just have a great time. No frills, no over the top, just a place to grab a great drink at a fair price and have a bite to eat. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I love this place! This is one of my favorite bars in the whole world. If you're looking for an Irish bar with a laid-back vibe where you will have a lot of fun, this is definitely the place. I love coming here for karaoke which I'm pretty sure is every night. The karaoke DJ, Vincent, is a big part of the reason why we love to come here. He is so nice and so fun and also very talented. We used to regular here and it was always so much fun. They have awesome drink specials and they also do infused drinks that they make themselves. The drink specials change every hour which I think is pretty cool. The service here is awesome, I love all the girls that work here. The food is also really good too. Whether you're sitting at the bar or at a table with friends, this place is always a blast. There's never a dull moment here! Also, one last thing, I highly recommend becoming a rewards member. I happened to go here on a first date during lunch. The food was pretty good but the service was HORRIBLE. Because it was a first date we took a while to order because we were talking. When the waitress asked again if we were ready to order we said we just needed a couple minutes. More than 15 min later she hadn't been back to our table and was eating at the bar. My date had to go to the bar and place our order with our eating waitress. She was rude and didn't make eye contact. My date also proceeded to compliment the food, and the waitress just walked away and didn't acknowledge him at all. My mom and I stopped here for lunch and were very impressed! I had a patty melt which was just perfect and she had a burger which she really enjoyed. We shared a batch of onion rings which were perfectly cooked and they also had hard cider on tap which is always a treat. Went there on a Thursday with my sisters. The server informed us that it was "Ladies Night" and all drinks were $2. The food we ordered was delicious. I had a Ruben Sandwich and ordered Tipsy Skins for an appetizer. My one sister had a great looking hamburger and fries, and my sister-in-law had the Russian sandwich. The restaurant makes its own russian dressing for their sandwiches and it is really, really good. I'd like to go sometime on Karaoke night. That sounds like it would be fun. Love this place, food is excellent, most of the waitstaff are great and one of the owners is nice, the other one cost them a star because he is always a dick. They can argue over who I'm referencing, but it's easy to figure out.
