Let me paint the picture…read more.. My wife and I were attending a wedding at the Port Authority. We arrived at the Marriott in the Renaissance Center with plenty of time to relax. Since she always takes four hours longer than me to get ready, I took the opportunity to watch TV and have a little rest, deciding that I'd get up at 4:30 pm with plenty of time to get myself ready for the 6 pm wedding as the venue was only about 10 minutes away. At 4:45 pm, I proceeded to put on my dress shirt and, to my shock and disappointment, realized I had packed a tuxedo shirt instead of a normal button down. The shirt I had with me required cufflinks and buttons that were sitting in my closet at home. There was no way I could drive there and back so I decided to look for a place close by that might be able to give me a hand. Knowing that my wife was extremely displeased, but handled it very well, I tried several avenues to remedy this situation, including asking other hotel guests if they had a shirt I could borrow and stopping into nice restaurants in the area to see if the waitstaff had any shirts on hand. When those options failed, I ran the thirteen minute route down Randolph to find Hot Sam's. I arrived at their door at 5:10 pm and the store was alive with people getting measured for suits, people socializing on the loungers around the store, and managers and staff mingling with customers and regulars coming in and out of the store. They saw me as I entered, out of breath and sweating profusely, and asked what my situation was. I told them that I was in jeopardy of both missing a wedding and being killed by my wife, which they immediately smiled, gave me a napkin to dry my brow, and were able to tell the size of my shirt without even getting a measuring tape. The shirt was perfectly priced considering they could have charged me 4 x what I paid to solve the problem. They wished me well and told me they would be here to serve me (and others) for whatever the occasion would be in the future. Within 13 minutes, my emergency was resolved and I was able to causally stroll back to the venue feeling ready to dance the night away. I even beat my wife to the venue. I will definitely be returning to Hot Sam's in the future (once my shin splints heal) when I need to freshen up my wardrobe or find the perfect outfit for a special occasion. Thank you, gentlemen, for taking care of me and being a staple to this community.

Today I had a wonderful experience at Barron's. I have driven by it for many years, wondering what…read moreit was like inside. I had heard about it, but I had my regular places I went to for suits and nice clothes. I know where I will go from now on. There are so many brands of outstanding fashion designers for men there and the selection was endless. Everything was very reasonably priced. The colors and patterns were not typical of navy, black, and tan. They jumped right off the clothes. There were bright, vivacious colors that you don't see at Brooks Brothers or Bacharach. The only thing more impressive than the selection and quality of the clothing was the service I received. OMG, Wendy not only knew all the brands, how they fit, and what sizes were available, but it was like she could read my mind about what went well together and what would be comfortable for me. It was like she knew my measurements by just looking at me. The only issue I had was that I didn't allow myself enough time. I purchased some shoes; I was not walking out empty-handed, but I definitely will be coming back again, and again, and again. The thing I really enjoyed and appreciated was Wendy's attitude. She was dressed to the 9's, very professional, she knew the products in and out, she was informative and not salesy or pushy. I felt very comfortable and trusted her advice. By the way she was dressed, I knew she had the kind of taste I like in clothing. Sharp, neat, respectful, but also fun. If I'm honest, the cherry on the sundae was her smile. She looked happy to be there and like she enjoyed her profession. It's hard in retail to find a salesperson in a store, period, one that wants to be there and is helpful, good luck. That's what I had, good luck, because I had the privilege of having her assistance. I am excited to go back, I will make sure I have a lot of time and make some space in my closet. I will also call ahead to make sure Wendy is there because I can't imagine being helped by anyone else. It was nice to start the day off with a smile and a new, cool pair of kicks. Walking in, this place is full of all different kinds of men's formal apparel. I saw a bunch of "loud" color and style suits and really wanted to buy one of those too! Out of my price range at the time though and not why I was there! I got measured pretty quick, given some rough estimate sizes to put on and they were pretty spot on. Just needed to get the pants tailored up a bit and my jacket sleeves brought up a touch. Conveniently next door, there's a tailor and a dry cleaner. All seem to work together to take care of their customers so whatever you buy here, you're in good hands in this strip of businesses!
