The seasoned fries have rotated over the years between shoe string and waffle, but always come with a good amount and are nice and crispy. The dining area isn't massive, but there's rarely ever a wait, which is a huge plus on a Friday night. Whenever I see a post in the local foodie group I'm in on social media asking for the best fish fry in the area, Bubs is always the one I recommend.

And perhaps they gave us extra since we waited so long. But the add on process is the same for either a small or large salad, so that could play a role. Casey and Mark were behind the bar and very personable and easy to talk to, but they were also the only two there so when the crowds came in they got really busy. I was craving a burger so I ordered the Hashbrown Burger and on Casey's recommendation had an egg added to it. I upgraded to fries from the normal side of chips. Fries (for me) were well seasoned and plentiful. The burger was juicy and also well seasoned but the egg was a touch overcooked. The burger on it's own works very well, the addition of the egg was a nice touch but the egg wasn't seasoned and it was slightly noticeable. I would definitely order the burger again, but I may pass on the egg. The bar is fully stocked and being a fan of whiskey, felt they have a nice selection. They have a few beers on tap and it was nice to see some local craft breweries on there. In the summer they have a back deck and bar area with a stage. I will add them to my lunch rotation for when I am craving a good burger.

The host helped us set up the simulator and asked if we needed anything. Great service. The simulators (8 of them) are great and fairly private which was nice as I had 3 kids with me. Our bay had great recliners and we were able to enjoy our time there. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for food and they all came out hot and we're great to share. Overall the food we ordered was not 5 star but I wasn't expecting that. They have a full bar too which is great to have as well. Overall, STIX is a great place to visit for any level of golfer and a friendly environment. We had a great time there and I love that it is locally owned! The only thing I wished was there were more bays and more open times as it seems to always fill up! I know in the last year they already expanded bays and are adding a small pro shop. It tasted more like a classic old fashioned than a Manhattan but I'm not complaining because I love classic bourbon old fashioned cocktails as well. For a starter we got their much raved about bang bang shrimp. It came on a bed of greens and was good! For my dinner I got their seasonal chicken and dumpling soup and a side salad. Both were solid. The salad was definitely more ample than I was expecting. My husband got some sort of salmon alfredo pasta dish that came with roasted asparagus mixed in. When we first arrived, the restaurant was not busy. Only a couple other tables occupied, so expectations were fairly high for a smooth experience. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. The food runner then randomly grabbed a ranch from our table and brought it to another table. He seemed potentially new, but overall the service felt very disorganized and clueless, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered the cheese curds to start, and they were disappointing. The breading was mushy and extremely greasy, and the cheese itself tasted low quality rather than the fresh curds you'd expect at a Wisconsin pub.
