    Afternoon Tea

Atmosphere - 2* (by the front door) Food - 4* Service - 1* Hubby and I stopped at Tiny Tim's for Afternoon Tea after visiting the Cathedral. We saw how charming the tearoom was online, but was disappointed of being seating right at the front door and missed the charm. It was not until I went upstairs to the toilet that I was able to see the charm and atmosphere of the tearoom. We enjoyed the tea, sandwiches, scones, and desserts, but the service was lackadaisical. We were able to tell when regulars came through the door because the staff became friendlier towards them. The finger sandwiches and scones were the best bites of the tea service. All of the desserts were too sweet, even in the small bite.

    Empty plate and full stomach!

Guinness chocolate cake is the best cake ever. Everything about this place is amazing. There is not a single place on earth I'd rather be than tiny Tim's tearoom. 5 stars is not enough to convey the beauty of this establishment. God bless america

Ham and mustard huffkin with sides.

Tiny Tim's is a must when you visit Canterbury. Every time we visit Canterbury we always make sure to stop here. The afternoon tea is the best, the sandwiches are very good and the scones are brilliant! There is a great selection of tea also, as well as other food items. This time I decided to get the ham and mustard 'huffkin' which hit the spot! Can't wait till we're in Canterbury again!!

Nestled off one of the main streets, this small establishment packs a big punch with traditional decor and a tasty afternoon tea menu. Everything from the service to the food and tea were delicious and served for a great pick me up in the middle of touring the town for the day.

We decided that we were long overdue to go back as it's been two years and we were in the area. We'd also heard that the Cobbles is under new management. But don't worry, it's exactly the same! We were welcomed at the door by the new owners who showed us to a table and we proceeded to order loads of food! We decided to go in before the lunchtime rush (11ish) and were the only people there for a good 30 minutes! I had coffee, a cheese scone (you've got to have the cheese scones, they are delicious!), a jacket potato with beans, and then a piece of coffee cake for dessert. Elle had gunpowder tea, a cheese scone (gotta have one! - not gluten free though) a gluten free toasted ham and cheese sandwich and some gluten free chocolate cake! Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, the waiting staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We sat with the sun shining through the door, with little sparrows, robins and other little birds flying up to the door and looking back at us. It was a really wonderful start to a day and I can't recommend them highly enough, they never disappoint and everything is exactly the same as they had been when we last visited. Ate everything before I thought about photographs lol....Can't wait to visit again.....

Kind of ashamed I didn't review this place last year when we visited. So last year we were on our…read morehoneymoon and my wife's birthday was during our trip. All she wanted for her birthday was a nice afternoon tea. We left London and were basically driving sort of toward the coast just stopping wherever we found a tea shop. Unfortunately, every tea shop we hit was closed because of some bank holiday we were unaware of. Except one! We got to Glynde, parked outside this tea shop, went in, and found a large sign that said "cash only". OMG this wasn't our day. We had to go to the next town over to use the ATM which sucked, but we weren't in any hurry and we really liked the look and feel here. We came back, got seated, opened the menu, and right at the top it said afternoon tea available with reservation only. We were devastated. I saw the look in my wife's eye and there was no way I was not getting her this afternoon tea! I approached the woman working and explained our situation and before I could even fight for the experience she told me not to worry, she would get us taken care of. BLESS HER! We had a wonderful visit and would recommend the experience to everyone in the area. Fast forward to this year. I knew how much my wife loved that visit and decided to reach out and ask if they had any ideas of what I could get her for her birthday this year. Joanne reached back out with an amazing gift and shipped it to us and it amazingly arrived on her birthday! She also included a nice birthday card for her! Amazing people that went out of their way twice to make us happy. They will forever be apart of our story and hopefully we have the chance to return soon! Thank you!!!
