I ordered the muscles for an appetizer, which was amazing. And i highly recommend the Duck or Lamb for an entree. My sister and i had both and we were very happy!

Walking in, the decor and signage is very inviting, sleek and cute without being too twee. Inside is very nice, but it was a lovely night and we asked to be seated in the garden. A good call! The garden is not heated, but the high walls shield the tables against wind which is really nice in the summertime. Menu is short and very seasonable, with a tasty and well-edited wine list, most in the 14 - 17 GBP range with the exception of a few special celebratory bottles. Really nice concept. We chose our meals from specials on the chalkboard and were treated to a lovely salad before our mains arrived. My partner had the 21 day aged grilled sirloin, and I had an amazingly tender and flavorful beef in red wine sauce, which paired perfectly with the French red (Chateau de Lancyre Vieilles Vignes) we chose. So nice! We ended the meal with a couple of coffees and a dark chocolate cake, which was absolutely gorgeous. We were assisted by two servers, both of whom could not have been any nicer, more knowledgeable, or professional. Overall a top-notch experience in Dover!

A perfect place to rest and recount our adventures for the day. There were quite a few diners in, and the space seemed a lot larger once inside, with a bar and several rooms to accommodate small and large parties. We were seated near a party of 10! Service was friendly and leisurely, which we welcomed. Only one staff was taking and distributing orders and he advised of the delay in service. The food was delicious and had we more time in town, would likely have dined in again.

This place is fantastic, easy walk from Dover Castle and just so happens to be Dovers oldest pub. The menu for lunch is small, feels like it's because they want to do things right. The fish and chips- highly recommend. However unless you are starving I recommend you split it with a friend. When we arrived we were immediately greeted, service was excellent. For families like us, they do have high chairs. They will take your order if you sit inside. There's also an outdoor garden however you need to come to the counter to order. Same with drinks. Each room has a lot of history. Take one look around and there's a lot going on. Apparently this location used to be a part of monastery and has evolved over the years now to a great pub. Each dish we enjoyed, the vegetarian linguine was fresh, chips were delicious and the fish was wonderful. If you're cruising in and need a place for a good meal not too far from the port or to Dover Castle- I recommend you swing on in. Highly casual so you can come as is or for special occasion.

Don't expect to find parking nearby. There are a few one-hour-only spaces, but they're often full. Had the English Breakfast. The ham was good, but very salty. Average beans, like out of a can. Good toast, hash browns, and tomatoes. Pretty sure the tomatoes were canned too, but had a nice flavor. The sausage wasn't as good as I'd hoped; had a slightly odd flavor versus what I'm used to. The fries, aka "chips" in England, were average at best. I didn't try the egg since it was fried / poached, which isn't my thing, and I didn't think to tell the waitress scrambled. The strawberry "thick milkshake" was very good, with a strong strawberry flavor. They serve "spotted dick" here for anyone who's interested, but I didn't try it since another review said it seemed to be pre-made or perhaps store-bought.

The bacon is what we in the US would call ham, the beans were obviously out of a can, egg not bad, hash brown was good and at least not overly oily. The sausage was by far the most disgusting thing I have eaten in a long time.. actually I didn't eat it, after the few bites and realizing how horrible it was in flavor and texture I spit it out.
