I am a regular customer at Beano's cafe in Herne Bay. This review will be based on my experiences…read moreof their breakfasts as I have not yet sampled their main meals. I normally visit Beano's cafe after a night out with friends and order one of the many fried breakfasts that are offered on their menu. If you don't fancy a full breakfast you can of course go for a sandwich, baguette or you can make your own breakfast using items off the menu. I normally go for a Beano breakfast which I believe represents the best value for money. From memory it is under £5 and filled me up so much that I skipped lunch. Included within the breakfast is two slices of toast and a choice of tea or coffee. After placing your order you can relax at one of the tables with one of the newspapers on offer however your never normally waiting longer than 10 minutes for your breakfast to get delivered to your table. The breakfast that is offered by Beano's cafe is the best quality breakfast you can buy in Herne Bay. The food is always hot and you can tell that the produce they use is fresh. The black pudding and bubble they use is delicious and their sausages are huge. After you have eaten your breakfast you can sit there with a coffee for as long as you want as the staff normally have a chat or joke with you as they continue working. I'm giving Beanos five stars as the food they serve is the best fried food you can buy in Herne Bay, the staff are friendly and the cafe is also incredibly clean and is always full of people enjoying their food.

Thumbs down from this American, as these were the worst pancakes I've ever had. This cafe claims…read moreall their ingredients are shipped from the US to "make" their pancakes (as if somehow American flour is different from British), but I'm not buying that these pancakes are homemade at all. They taste and have the texture of grocery store pancakes. You're not fooling me. Also, beef chili and maple syrup on pancakes at the same time? Salmon and cream cheese on pancakes? YUCK. That is just a crime against food. It's not hard to make a load of buttermilk pancake batter. If you're going to put a huge sign in the window saying you're an "American Pancake House" the pancakes need to live up to that claim. American expats and travelers alike: I'd advise avoiding this cafe for breakfast. In addition the eggs were a bit rubbery and the hash browns were fine but nothing to write home about. Service was a bit slow but very friendly.

This cozy and intimate coffee bar serves some amazing breakfast, and they also serve traditional American breakfast which can be a great comfort when traveling abroad. All of these combined make for a great experience at this restaurant, now allow me to add the cherry on top. People getting off the train were walking right by this place and heading for town, and they were missing out on some great food. Too bad they're closed on Sunday, or I would be going back for another great breakfast sandwich. Jolly good mate!

The wife and I had the full English breakfast - fried eggs, sausage, black pudding, bacon, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms and baked beans. Very reasonably priced and pretty tasty. The waiting staff are lovely and, most importantly, the food and coffee is really great! It's a perfect little cafe for breakfast with a friend and I'd recommend it to anyone. If you're not in the mood for breakfast, however, this place also serves an amazing selection of little chocolates as well, which looked pretty incredible so why not try some of those instead? All in all, this place really impressed me and is definitely a little Canterbury hot-spot that I would highly suggest you visit!

They have an impressive selection of teas, many with really interesting names and flavors. I got Butterscotch Tea. It really does taste like butterscotch sans sugar. Upon leaving, I decided to get some truffles at the front display as takeaway. They had a deal for if you buy 6 truffles, though I forget how much it was. I had a Chocolate Coated Marshmallow, Sun-dried Tomato Marzipan, White Chocolate Tropical Fruit, Dark Chocolate Peppermint, Caramel Cookie Truffle, and Coffee Cookie Truffle. The girl helping me was very nice and explained each truffle flavor (They had a lot!) and gave some recommendations. My favorite was surprisingly the Sun-Dried Tomato Marzipan, it was sweet and salty with a fruity hint. I'm hoping to come back the next time I visit the UK. This was such a highlight from my Canterbury trip.
