Nestled off one of the main streets, this small establishment packs a big punch with traditional decor and a tasty afternoon tea menu. We decided that we were long overdue to go back as it's been two years and we were in the area. We'd also heard that the Cobbles is under new management. But don't worry, it's exactly the same! We were welcomed at the door by the new owners who showed us to a table and we proceeded to order loads of food! We decided to go in before the lunchtime rush (11ish) and were the only people there for a good 30 minutes! I had coffee, a cheese scone (you've got to have the cheese scones, they are delicious!), a jacket potato with beans, and then a piece of coffee cake for dessert. Elle had gunpowder tea, a cheese scone (gotta have one! - not gluten free though) a gluten free toasted ham and cheese sandwich and some gluten free chocolate cake! Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, the waiting staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We sat with the sun shining through the door, with little sparrows, robins and other little birds flying up to the door and looking back at us. It was a really wonderful start to a day and I can't recommend them highly enough, they never disappoint and everything is exactly the same as they had been when we last visited. Ate everything before I thought about photographs lol....Can't wait to visit again.....

Traveled down from London earlier in the day and skipped lunch so we were rather hungry and opted for an early dinner, just after 4PM. There were other diners about, and patrons at the bar it but it was understandably not full at that time of day. The decor was nostalgic and befitting a spot on the marina. The waitstaff were efficient, friendly, and accommodating. We shared an unexpectedly tall slice of their yummy banoffee pie to end the meal. If this were in my neighborhood, I'd dine in often!

A can of Diet Coke, and a regular coke with the sandwich was only £4 (what a great deal). People getting off the train were walking right by this place and heading for town, and they were missing out on some great food. Too bad they're closed on Sunday, or I would be going back for another great breakfast sandwich. Jolly good mate!

We just stumbled upon The Little Kitchen as we were walking through down town. We were cold and hungry. I wasn't sure what to think since we were the only people in the restaurant. The two ladies working the counter were as friendly as can be and showed us to a seat before coming to take our order. We ordered baguettes, a panini and a jacket potato. The baguettes were wonderful. The bread was crusty but also tender enough to easily take a bite. Both the Tikka Masala and Egg+mayo had great flavor. The panini was pressed nice and hot with grill marks and melty cheese. The jacket potato was such a hearty portion. I could see myself finishing a long morning hike on a cold day with one of these. The chili on it was quite tasty too. Of course we all rounded out our meals with a hot cup of tea. All in all for the prices and selection this place is really a nice little gem in Dover.

I asked for no extra salt to be added to mine and it showed: the fish was quite bland as was the overall pesto sauce. That being said, it was very light and appreciated after a day of drinking and hot chocolate drinks. An annoyance though was the dish was described as having scallops and there was only one scallop with the meal! The cod portion was very good though. My husband LOVED his food, praising the flavour and amount of meat on his plate. Also, he appreciated the full bottle of ketchup given. However, he was only given a butter and not a steak knife and the waitress explained those are never given to customers. Huh?! Still, we overall had a nice experience and would return if in Rye. Decent prices too compared to other places.
