I purchased our sweet toy poodle in 2024 and she has been the most precious little dog. I have had no issues at all with her along with a flawless experience in choosing her and purchasing. Fast forward to 2026 and all these negative reviews. Something has obviously changed and not for the better. How disappointing. After reading all these horror stories I don't think Im going to go any further. Sad very sad. I stick to an accrediated AKC site specializing in toy poodles.

I had never been to an animal shelter before. I didn't know what to expect, so I was a bit nervous…read more The facilities here are modern and clean. You sign in at the front desk and then freely roam to look at animals. I didn't explore the dog areas, but there are several areas of cats, separated by fosters, kittens fresh from getting spayed/neutered, and older cats. Beware: you will want to take all of them home. There wasn't that many people there when I went, so I was able to spend a lot of time getting to know the kitties. I fell in love with a little tortie, but was worried when I saw that she had enlarged mammary glands (her lil tummy was shaved from her recent spaying). A worker in the cat room went above and beyond to help. She explained that the cat had probably recently had a litter and her milk hadn't dried up yet. But, just to make sure, without me even asking, she took the kitty back to get examined by their doctor. After confirming what I had been told, I scooped up that lil girl and adopted her ASAP. The adoption process was easy. Just a head's up: if the address on your ID is different than your current address, bring another thing with your current address on it (I used my car registration). When I went, the shelter had a promotion going on, sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation, so the adoption was free. Plus spaying/neutering, Broward County pet registration tag, microchip, and all necessary vaccinations are always included here when you adopt. I also got a cute "Gotcha Day" certificate and a free cardboard "cat-eau" :D Overall, I had a great experience adopting a new kitty from Broward County Animal Care and highly recommend that you check them out if you're looking for a new animal baby :)

Sketchy place and the worst people, so cold and heartless…read more We came in looking for our lost cat. On the first attempt, they were closed because of a meeting, so we couldn't talk to anyone. The security guard told us to come back another day through the closed gate and mentioned there's a lost pet binder. On our second visit, we parked in front and lost and found, and there was a sign saying to stay in your car. After we arrived, there was a couple who found a tiny orange kitten and tried to surrender it, so they got out of the car. The security guard yelled at them to get back in the car. They asked why, and he snapped, "Can't you read the sign" while pointing to it. They asked why again, and he didn't answer, but just ignored them. We waited for the lady to come to our car window. She asked if our cat was ours or a community cat, when we lost him, and what he looked like. We said he was a tabby, and she rolled her eyes, saying the majority are tabbies and we're probably not going to find him. We asked to come in and look, and she said no. We asked how long they keep the animals. She said usually 24 hours, even though they're supposed to keep them for 72 hours, they usually don't. We asked why. She said too many. I asked what happens to them. She said they take the address where they're found when they come in, and they release them to the same address. To me, that seems unbelievable if someone is bringing in a stray cat or lost pet, that they would just put them back out on the street. What's the point? I asked if they euthanize animals. That's when she said yes, in those 24-72 hours, if the animal is sick or can't be saved, they will put them down. I asked how it's determined, and she didn't say. We asked again to try to find our cat, and she said there's no point. I asked about the binder with pictures that the security guard told us about the first time around. She didn't want to let us see. She said the pictures are tiny and hard to see, and that it's a huge binder. We said we drove all this way that we wanted to see. She said they distribute the pets to various animal control facilities, so he could be anywhere. We insisted, so she brought the binder to the car. We did not find JJ. The security guard just grabbed the binder back from us and didn't say a word. The main lady was rude to the couple with the orange kitten. We left before we saw the outcome, but it looked like she refused to take it and gave them a pamphlet. They're better off taking it to the humane society. There was a 3rd employee in a grey shirt, along with the lady in the blue shirt and the security guard. They all made faces, rolled eyes, used huge gestures, and had terrible attitudes. I'm not sure what their problems are, but they shouldn't be working in customer service, let alone a tough job like this one that requires sensitivity. The whole thing was really shady.

I would certainly NOT recommend Melanie to anyone. I purchased a puppy from her. When my puppy was…read moredelivered, Melanie did NOT provide all the papers that was promised, I had to text and email her a couple times in order to receive most of the papers. My puppy did NOT come microchipped as promised, I found out when I took my puppy to the vet and when asked she said it was out of stock and she forgot to tell me. I realized my puppy had a leaking urine issue very early on and when I discussed with Melanie she said it could be because the puppy was still too young and didn't have much control over her bladder. As time went on, the leaking issue continues. I have had to pay almost 2 thousands dollars on her medical just regarding the leaking issue since she keeps getting UTIs and infections in her private area and her belly. After running some tests, Xray and Ultrasound, doctor suggested that my puppy has ectopic ureter and surgery and extra tests would be needed to hopefully fix the issue, which would cost me about $7000. I then informed Melanie about the doctor's finding as I always have since this is the condition that she was born with and insurance will not cover it. I have been nothing but patient and nice to Melanie as I understand things can happen but needed to say, she never responded to my messages, her Facebook and website have been shut down. Please DO NOT buy a puppy from her. This is certainly NOT the way you handle business, treating customers and treating puppies/dogs. Attached is a few of the messages between me and Melanie.

They've been taking care of them their whole lives. My cat too... he's almost 13! Today my neighbor called me frantic about her dachshund. She had him in the car and was trying to find someplace to have him seen. I gave her the number to the clinic. They had just closed but stayed open for her. Who does that these days?! She called me after the visit and was so happy with the results. It's such a great place. my other review posted in May 2016: this place is great! you don't find service or family-run businesses like this too often anymore... their techs LOVE the animals and stick around for years. I know one of their techs went on to veterinary school after working there for at least 10 years that I know of. The vets are so kind and experienced. They don't look for extra stuff to do and are honest about how much they themselves can help. i can't say enough good things about this clinic.

I was seen right away. Treated with compassion and respect. I left him there at 10:30 am and he was ready to be picked up at 5:30 pm. They also explained everything in much detail, and even called me the following morning to check on him. It wasn't inexpensive, we paid almost $2500. I can't say whether they are priced competitively or not, but my dog and I were treated right. I highly recommend
