Tiny Door #1 got a fun, interactive makeover today! (March 31st, 2018)
Stephanie B.

Tiny Doors ATL is by far my favorite public art in Atlanta. Nothing beats the excitement of finding one of these a-door-able doors, clever huh? ;) As of this review (March 2018) there are 13 tiny doors around Atlanta! Here are the locations: Door #1: Krog Street Tunnel Door #2: Old Fourth Ward Skatepark on the Beltline (on the Freedom Parkway overpass) Door #3: Inman Park Pet Works Door #4: This door was replaced by a Tiny Library! It's in the Little Shop of Stories in Decatur Square Door #5: This door was located in Freedom Park. It was called the Tree Door, however after many kick ins the door was moved and the perfect location is still being sought out! Door #6: Paris on Ponce on the Beltline. My favorite door! Door #7: Charis Books & More in Little Five Points Door #8: Milltown Arms Tavern Door #9: King of Pops Walkup Window Door #10E: Grant Park (east side at the highest natural point in the city) Door #10W: Grant Park (west side where the Grant Park Farmer's Market is held) Door #11: Center for Puppetry Arts Door #12: Westside Beltline Trail-Adair Park Door #13: Eastside Beltline Trail under Virginia Avenue Karen Anderson is the creator of these doors so show her some love if you do go to these tiny doors! @tinydoorsatl on instagram :)

Love tiny doors atlanta! We are making a game out of it-- whoever finds the least each month has to host our friends dinner! (So message me where they at!! Haha) It's cute and whimsical.. always makes me smile. Keep it up Atlanta! Let's make more! Do I need a permit? If not, look for more tiny doors! Coming soon!

Aaaah!!!! Tiny Doors are SO FUN!!!! My sister, her rescue educational ambassador opossum, and I had the pleasure of visiting 2 of the many Tiny Doors that Atl has to offer! They are conveniently located and so fun to stop at! I HIGHLY recommend a trip to any/all of the Tiny Doors!

Tiny doors with large creativity. 6 inches to be exact. (That's what he said... errrr, ummm... anyway) What a very cool, creative piece to add to Atlanta. Their story: "Tiny Doors ATL is a small artist cooperative bringing big wonder to tiny spaces. Our constantly evolving installation pieces are an interactive part of their community. With the installation of a door, what was once a wall or the column of a bridge becomes an entrance to collective creativity and an invitation to whimsy. Tiny Doors ATL is dedicated to free and accessible art. You will never have to buy a ticket to see one of our doors. We inspire curiosity and exploration in people of all ages." Adore that. Love when a city is also very open to their local artist and allowing them to bring life to the community via this amazing medium. I got so excited when I saw my first tiny door on my last trip and now I have a list of them all to find next time I am in town! Door #1: Krog Street Tunnel Door #2: Old Fourth Ward Skatepark on the BeltLine Door #3: Inman Park Pet Works Door #4: Little Shop of Stories Door #5: The Tree Door Door #6: Paris on Ponce Door #7: Charis Books & More #TinyDoorsATL, I appreciate you.

I always enjoy seeing these tiny doors! It is amazing to see the response of children...

Near the skatepark on the beltline. What a cute addition.

I'm honestly very disappointed with my experience. I GOT…read morePIERCED BY KEYS!! I originally booked for a back surface piercing, but when I arrived, I was told the proper equipment for that service was not available. As a professional, that should have been confirmed before booking. Because of that, I was pressured into getting back dermals instead. My appointment was also rescheduled from 1 PM to 4 PM due to personal reasons, which was already inconvenient. I still showed up only to wait an additional hour because the piercer was late. Due to the time being reschedule I ended up spending $100 To get there. After the procedure, one dermal visibly looked shallow compared to the others. I brought this up immediately and was told to "wait." Nearly 3 days later, when I gently removed the bandage, that dermal came out completely with no snagging or trauma. The other three are perfectly fine, which makes it clear that one was not properly seated. I was told I would receive a refund due to the inconveniences, I received it later. Overall, this experience involved multiple inconveniences, lack of proper preparation, and a piercing that failed within days. I would not recommend booking unless you are prepared for rescheduling issues and incomplete setup. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision.

I started planning our wedding about 15 months in advance. My now husband and I had settled on a…read moreFrench Provencal venue outside of Austin, Texas - and I was looking at ways to make our wedding special. I really wanted it to have a French feel without being super over the top themed (I am half French, and knew that we were going to have actual people from France at our wedding). My husband had just vetoed a photo booth, so I had a thought, "I wonder if there is a watercolor artist who paints portraits, kind of like they do in (albeit my favorite) touristy part of Montmartre," and quickly started googling on a Friday evening. My efforts paid off in spades and led me to a buzzfeed article about Maggie and her 5 minute watercolor portraits. By Sunday evening, we were chatting on the phone with Maggie with a plan in place and had her booked that same night! In the year or so leading up to the wedding, Maggie was always easy to reach (and super sweet at that) whenever I had any questions come up, and I was beyond excited to actually meet her and see her talent in person. She very kindly did portraits of my then fiancé and I in advance, as well as one of our two dogs at my request. They turned out so beautifully, and she brought them framed to have displayed at our wedding. But really - our guests have not stopped gushing about Maggie. I was so sad that I literally only got to spend about 30 seconds with her after all this time, but everyone was so excited and interested in having Maggie paint their portrait! Ultimately she was able to paint about 70 out of our 105 guests. She arrived and set up before our ceremony, so I know a few people who arrived early and got portraits then - including 2 of my junior bridesmaids who had snuck out while we were getting ready. According to everyone (and my firsthand experience), Maggie was nothing but lovely, fun, and professional. It has been so fun to see our guests' portraits as they share them with us or pop up on facebook. We even got the added bonus of being featured in her new video series, The Wedding Painter, and have a super special video souvenir of our wedding day that we would not have had without Maggie. Thank you so much Maggie for making our day so special! Your talent and skillset are truly unique, and I hope that one day we can actually spend more than 30 seconds together, because I just want to be friends with you! If you are considering hiring Maggie for your wedding or event - DO IT! Do it early! She's a true gem, and you will have a difficult time finding anyone else that holds a candle to her!

Hiring Maggie for our wedding was arguably one of the best decisions I ever made for our wedding…read more I know that flying someone from Atlanta to San Francisco seems a bit over the top, but Maggie was so worth it. Everyone at our wedding commented how amazing it was to have someone actually live paint their portraits! I wanted our guests to feel special as a thank you for being a part of our day and this one definitely delivered. I wanted something personal but classy and Maggie was the way to go. Maggie's art is not only beautiful and a great gift to treasure for a lifetime but something also has to be said for her speed! She cranked out those portraits as if she was in a race and she did not look one bit frazzled. Thank you so much for making our day extra special! Be sure to book her at your next event :)
