Tinuhog ni Benny is a small turo-turo and grill near DLSU and DLS-CSB. Its name comes from the specialty of the house, which is different kinds of skewered meats that are well-marinated and are ready to go on the grill. I love how "koboy" and delightfully unrefined this place is ,but students from the nearby schools still flock to this joint in droves. You won't have a hard time finding it. It is right next to a car wash, which occassionally spews carwash foam on unsuspecting diners by accident.
Benny has the most flavorful grilled pork liempo that I have ever tried, and each serving is downed with several helpings of rice, soup and softdrinks that come in one "meal". They also have other grilled items such as stuffed squid, pork bbq, inasal and even grilled fish. When I was struggling to make ends meet in Taft as a fresh graduate, Benny's practically saved my life, especially when I was running really low on cash. Most of the time, people come because the owners always show basketball games on the TV, so you are most likely to be dining with basketball varsity players from the two nearby schools. read more
