BEWARE THESE PEOPLE WILL RIP YOU OFF They charged me exceptionally high prices for some custom work I wanted done to my vehicle. I assumed from the other reviews & personal references that this place did professional work worth the extra cost. They however did work on my vehicle that was amateur at best & described by fellow car enthusiast as the worst they had ever seen. Let me start with the fact I was told tints, a roof wrap & powder coating my rims would take 3 days. It took a total of 5 days to get my vehicle back & on the 4th day the car was UNDRIVEABLE on pick up as they had put my rims/tires back on WRONG. The wrap was horrible & I mean HORRIBLE. I paid top dollar thinking they would put in extra effort & professionally wrap my vehicle. They must have put someone on the job who has never wrapped a car before because I'm sure I could have done a better job. Even the tints were not cut to precision and sloppy put on the vehicle. I found a beard hair in the driver side window tint within a day of picking up the vehicle. I now have to even take my car to the dealership for a tire alignment & inspection as I don't know what else was done to my vehicle but it has not been driving as smoothly as it was before. read more

This Tint World business at Bensenville, IL, is very unprofessional!!! I was looking to have auto detailing done, however, when I went to their website I was unable to get a quote online. When called they suggested they needed to have a look at the car first to give an exact amount. Seriously?? I had just gotten my SUV vehicle from the dealer and it was filthy dirty so I wanted it cleaned out and looking like new. My husband decided he would just take it in to them and check the pricing. Once there, he spoke to a lady named La Vonna and she ensured him that they would do a really good job inside and out and gave him a list of services to choose from. I have to say that they were very pricey!! However, in the end, we decided to go ahead with the "ultimate package" since he was promised the vehicle would have that "new car feeling" after the work was done. They claimed they needed 8 hours to do the work. So my husband left it there around 1 pm that afternoon (December 1st) and told them he would pick it up the next day. The next day comes around and we were waiting all day, but it took them until one hour before closing to let us know that the car is not ready yet. Seriously?! How did the so-called 8 hours go by and you're still not done? And yet they had all day to call while we were just sitting around waiting but nothing. No respect for the customer's time whatsoever! Before noon on December 3rd, they finally called and said the car was ready (Two days later for an "8-hour" job). Upon arriving and opening the car door, I did not get that "new car feeling" at all. The car seat that was in the car when we left it to them was just thrown in the back seat area upside-down like a piece of garbage. Of course, I did not expect them to put it back together like how it was but, wow!! They could have at least put it back sitting upright in a respectful manner. Presentation matters! So next I open the armrest console and it's still filthy dirty like before!!! Even the area around it was not cleaned at all and still had stains and filth all over!! I was in shock. This was one of the most important parts of the vehicle we wanted to be cleaned out and my husband specifically mentioned it to the lady he spoke with, to which she confirmed it would be done. So one of the guys on staff comes over and when we showed him the issue, he responds, "Oh we don't go into the glove or storage compartments to clean." Are you kidding me?!? So what is the point of bringing in my car for detailing? Only for me to go back home and do extra cleaning? What sense does that make on any planet? He just pulled an answer out of the sky when we were initially told otherwise. If that is not what you do then mention it to the customer beforehand. I would not have left you my car in that case. The lady my husband had dealt with before comes over and apologizes and says she forgot to tell them about cleaning it. Seriously?! She then takes the car back inside to go do the work they missed. And here we go again waiting on something that should have been completed if they professionally conducted their business. Again, no respect for the customer's time! So there we were, ended up sitting outside in our car for over an hour waiting! Finally, she comes out with the car and when we check it again it was nice and clean. At long last!!! The lady once again apologized and said it was her fault for not letting them know about cleaning it. I have to mention though, she was nice and had a friendly manner. Here's a tip to the business... before returning a vehicle to a customer, have a supervisor check to ensure that all work promised to the customer was completed! Be professional and show that you care. And above all, presentation matters! Don't have car seats dumped inside like garbage. Overall, I would not return to this business. They're unprofessional, to say the least. All that money paid for the "ultimate package" of auto detailing looked like a cheap job from a car wash. During the Christmas season, my sister bought us an auto started kit and service via Groupon as an xmas gift. It was one of the best gifts I got as I always wanted this for my car. This must have been a popular deal as when my husband called to make an appointment; the next appointment was in February, wow! It was ok, I didn't mind as I know Chicago weather it will still be snowing and cold past March. When we arrived, it's a small shop next to a taco bell off of a busy York rd. After a long day at work and stuck in traffic, I didn't care much of my first impression when I walked in. I felt that I was not greeted well, no one was inside the shop and I sat down just waiting for someone anyone to greet me. Not the greatest first impression. When I finally spoke with a lady, I felt like she too was there for a long day like she didn't want to be there or serve me. Maybe it's because I was one of the many Groupon holders as I was told it was a lot of response. I would think that's a good idea for a local business, right? The gal in the evening shift needs to smile a bit more or at least fake it when greeting a customer especially for first time customers if you want me to come back. Their parking lot is a bit small and their location is kind of hidden, maybe the Taco Bell sign over powers theirs as I didn't know it existed unless I had that Groupon to use. Since my car has a push button starter, I had to pay extra for labor over $100 more, I asked my car lovers friends out there and they said that's typical for auto starter plus additional labor for newer cars with push button vs a turnkey car. Meaning if I had to start my car with my actual car keys, then I wouldn't have to shell out for the additional labor work. So I paid it and it did state on the Groupon as well. After giving up my car keys to them, I was a bit hesitant that I would end up paying more for something that I didn't know. The next morning was a much better experience. There was another lady at the counter that welcomed me with a friendly smile and service. While we were waiting she was telling us the history of their business and the owners...I enjoy small talk and it wasn't a sales pitch. It's nice to build that business relationship especially if it has to do with your car. She explained their other services that they offer and that they carwash and clean up many dealership cars around their area. I liked that she made conversation with us while we were waiting to get our car back. Now that's customer service! While waiting, I noticed on the wall that they also do different types of professional car window tinting, auto detailing, car stereo and video installation, and much more. It's also a popular chain name from the South of US. The guy that brought our car up front was also nice and showed us how to use our new toy and he took his time to allow us to test it on the lot, so kewl! As evidenced by my multiple review updates, I've had nothing but problems with my remote start since it was installed 4.5 years ago. This last time, my car wouldn't start (again). When it was jumped, the tow truck driver remarked that "something must be draining the battery," but thought I'd be OK for a few days. The next morning, my car started (manually) at 6am. I then ran it on the remote start (a duration of 10 minutes). When I loaded my toddler and my things into my car at 6:40 and attempted to start it, the ignition would only click and wouldn't catch. The remote start kept on trying to engage despite my hitting the button to stop it. So, there I was stranded AGAIN, and unable to get to work or anywhere else. I called Tint World because I just want this damn thing disabled/disconnect from the battery. I spoke with Aisha (sp?) who told me they were under new ownership (friends of the previous owner), that they have new installers, etc etc, and if I paid $50, they would inspect the installation and see if it was done correctly. She initially convinced me, but the more I thought about it, I decided to go with my gut and have it disabled: it was "inspected" several times in the past with apparently no issues, and I don't have (or want to) shell out $50 for them to inspect it and probably tell me nothing is wrong. I just want to be done with this thing. I called today to reschedule, since I had a conflict after work and couldn't make it. I told her the above, and she again tried to convince me to have it inspected. I declined. She told me they'd charge me $50 either way: for the inspection or to disable it. (What?! So much for standing by one's product/service.) I then said I was just going to cancel the appointment. She argued with me a bit. I explained that if they're going to charge me anyway, I'll just find another (reputable and trustworthy) shop to disable it. She scoffed and laughed. So much for that. A co-worker was working next to me while I was on the phone and heard the exchange. She commented, "Wow, how many times did you have to tell her 'No' and she still didn't 'get it'?!" She was very pushy and not willing to stand behind a product and workmanship that was done at the business. All I wanted was for them to disconnect the darn thing so that I wouldn't have ANOTHER issue with my battery (and chance being stranded AGAIN, 36 weeks pregnant with a toddler), but she was unwilling to work with me. Noted. *ETA the remote start won't even work in 20° weather, as it failed to turn over (with a NEW replacement battery) the other day. read more

I went there for assistance with headlights for my vehicle, showed them the ones I already purchased and explained my circumstance - i asked if they could install my already purchased headlights and they told me $75 per hour for install. was shocked by that, but I knew it wouldnt take an hour so I agreed. my car was in a service bay for 25 minutes and I was charged $81. super great people, but that was ridiculous to charge me an hours worth of work for 25 minutes of time. sadly I won't return there for that reason but I do really appreciate their friendliness and help. read more

These guys did a horrendous job on my car. 5 years ago I took my car twice to this shop to have window tint installed. The first time they left dust particles trapped between the film so I took my car back to their shop to have them redo the job. The second time when they redid the job, they broke the defroster lines of my car and scratched the door panels. The name of the employees who worked on my car are Juan and Jonathan. I've been there multiple times now to have some lighting enhancements done on my 2 Jeeps. First thing you notice is how the group... from front desk to management/ownership... interact like a family business. There's a respect and niceness that makes it a place you want to do business with. Then they have the experience to help you talk through what you want. A fair price was offered... excellent work was done, and the wait I chose at the shop was pleasant, with Tika and Kyle running the show. I had a small warranty re-do on one of my light parts that was defective, but that happens. What you expect is a gracious offer to "make it right", and it was done free and without issue. I had the day off work and my original plan was to drive around the area to get some estimates for tint on my wife's new car. Tint World (Bensenville) was my first and last stop. I talked to the friendly gentleman (I forgot his name) at the front counter and he went outside looked at my big SUV, asked me some questions and gave me a quote on the spot. I was initially unsure of how dark that I wanted to go, so he showed me some cars in their lot and had me sit in a couple to show off what it would look like. With NO appointment, he offered to take in my car ASAP and get it done that day, since they were slow at the time. I was even given me a 'special price' which was lower than his original estimate if I got the work done that morning. So I took him up on his offer. They guy at the front counter was friendly and talkative, without coming off too much as a salesman. He did not try to up sell me on something that I didn't need. The job was done on time @ 2 hours and the car looked great with the installed tint - I was very impressed. It's been several weeks since I had it done and it still look great and no issues. Excellent inside staff for sure...namely the Manager Tika and her colleague Kyle. We hit it off from "Day 1". A totally cool technician named Kevin made the perfect team to deliver my daughter's college graduation "dream car". However, I'm not quite sure who the former owner was that people seem to speak highly. I do ,on the other hand, now unfortunately know who the new owner is...his name is "Art". As a business owner myself, I understand accidents happen, but it's how you fix them that makes a successful business to me. Unfortunately one of their detailing guys used a solvent cleaner on a freshly painted black convertible top (perfect condition) as he wasn't paying attention. In addition, he "road rashed" my brand new rim maybe pulling in/out of their garage...whatever). (Maybe the kid had a bad day..."it" happens.) However, when I returned smiling & ready to simply ask for a small reimbursement for the quotes I obtained to cover my cost of the repairs, Art responded (in so many words), "We did not only NOT do these things you accuse us of, we are not giving you a dime. In fact, if you don't pay me the balance right now, I'm going to charge you $20/day for storage". this business owner apparently found the solution to be, "tell the customer to pound sand". (Nice, eh?!) Bottom line, if you use them, take lots of pics prior to handing them your keys as they do excellent work. However if you have any "normal bumps in the road", hopefully you won't have to deal with Art, "the new owner"...(buyer beware)... I understand the labor took longer due to them wanting to get the job done correctly, but I honestly wasn't prepared to wait that long. Great experience! True professionals, and the best customer service! I came in with a warranty issue on my work truck alarm . I was immediately helped by owner Mike and manager Chester. They were very accommodating and in constant communication through out the entire repair process. Needless to say my warranty issue was resolved, they replaced several parts, at NO COST, and my alarm now works as it should. Great warranty with this company, especially since alarm was a few years old. Real honest guys. These guys really stand behind there products and installations, and are masters of their trade! I wish i could give negative star to this business... I really wish... I made an appointment for 10 AM. Came here at 9.45 and submitted my car at 10.05. They asked for two hours to work on it. At 12 o'clock I asked them like how much more time and they said 30 to 35 minutes more. After one and a half hour I asked them again like how much more time and they said 20 minutes. We are almost done so I went to back side to see my car and guess what they have done only one window till now... Having lunch and break and break and break... Never ending breaks... What an unprofessional you are!!! There is a value for time. If you can not make it on time then at least please tell to your customer so they can drop their car and finish their work. Don't at least lie to them about time... Wish they shut down soon so somebody who values customer can buy franchise and do business. These guys did my wife's car this past summer and i was happy with how everything came out so i decided to do some tints on my own. Great customer service and finished my tints in great time. Completely satisfied with how everything came out and shout out to the lady in the front who managed to squeeze me in even though i showed up late to an appointment that i failed to personally confirm. I don't usually dont comment on yelp, but I felt the need to. I would not recommend this shop to anyone one. I purchased this living social voucher for my boyfriend. We waited a month and a half to get it installed. Then I get a call saying that they needed to cancel my appointment. I took a day off of work so I could get this installed for him. They gave us another appointment that same week after I made a big fuse about the situation. That was one point off of there rating their liability and there customer service skills are horrible. My boyfriend went to get it installed today and was told we had to get a bypass installed. So then the manager was involved my boyfriend was told he would not need to get the bypass installed for his car. Okay then after installing the starter they then came and told him he needed to pay 100 dollars for this bypass part. Even though the manager told him he didn't need it before they began working on his car. Prior to this appointment we called to make sure we weren't going to get charged for this part. So we have a remote start that does not work because we refused to pay the extra 100 dollars. So I take off 3 points off for the misleading information and no informing customers before their appointments. I personally feel that this shop is misleading and has horrible customer service skills. We read the fine print there are additional charges but they mis informed my boyfriend and still tried charging him the 100 dollars. I would never do services with this autoshop again. They are misleading and they have horrible customer service and very unprofessional. That is all I have to say. read more

Just left tint world in complete frustration. I called earlier in the morning and they said to bring the car in today to get a quote on vinyl wrap. I took the 40 minute drive from the city and once I got there I was told that the vinyl guy stepped out and won't be back for another hour and a half, and they can't do anything about it. So my only decisions were wait or leave. What a grand waste of time and now I have to drive another 40 minutes back, all for nothing. It would be nice if you know your own employees schedules and let people know before they make a long trip. read more

When I first bought my groupon, I was ecstatic about the deal but as I went through the process of the making an appointment and getting my remote starter installed, I realized that the deal really was too good to be true. It took over a month and half to get an appointment. The bypass module was an extra $100. That is fine I guess because it mentioned it on the groupon when I purchased it. When I showed up for my appointment however, I was told that my factory key unlock feature will not work once the car starts so I would need to purchase their keyless entry/remote started combo for 40 bucks more if I didn't want to unlock my car with a physical key. I asked why this was not mentioned to me on the phone, she said because they can't tell everyone. I asked why someone else was just given this info on the phone ahead of time and she said because he called to confirm his appointment. I also had called to confirm my appointment earlier in the week and this was not mentioned to me. I asked why the remote starter didn't unlock the car (since two others friends have gotten this same model remote car starter and it unlocks their cars). When I looked up the model they use at tint world online it is advertised as a remote starter and unlock button. I asked the technician about this and was told the one remote started CAN infact double up as an unlock button but there an extra $20 charge for it. Why? No one knows. Even though on some cars the factory keyless entry still works, they tell everyone that it will probably not work and that they need to upgrade with the extra 40 to be sure and no one is told about the extra $20 option to enable the remote started to unlock the car. I bought the groupon so I went with it but it just seems so shady. I have several friends who said the same things about this place after purchasing their groupons. Won't come back. read more

How about Zero stars? Made an appointment for Friday 5/1/15 @ 2:30 p.m. Called to confirm around 1 p.m. (n/a), but took off anyway from Chicago. Took 1-290, but there was an accident on the way. Call Tint World again, this time to let them know I would be late but would be there, saying 3:00 p.m. to give me some wiggle room. Lady said she would tell the mechanic. Arrived at 2:50 p.m. and "Nick" proudly announced that they were strictly adhering to the 15 minute grace period rule. (?) I would have to reschedule. Regardless that I had called, they had absolutely no interest in servicing my vehicle that afternoon. I wouldn't reschedule if my life depended on it. And I had already paid for the service through Living Social. Rather go somewhere else where they appreciate your business, even if it costs a little more. read more

For Christmas this year I asked Santa to get me an auto-start for my 2004 Toyota Sienna. Santa found a deal on Groupon and set me up with Tint World. When I called to book my appointment I was initially told that they were booked through February and there was an additional charge for the by-pass needed due to the chip in my car key. (basically, it fools the car into thinking the key is in the ignition.) I said I understood about the additional charge and that I had read the Yelp reviews so I knew they were very busy. I asked that they put me on a waiting list as I would be happy to drive out there if someone else canceled. The lovely woman asked if I could hold on a minute, came back & told me they had a cancellation for the coming Saturday afternoon. I booked it, overjoyed as I knew the nasty north winds would be coming soon. The day I had my appointment I was told it would be between 3 and 4 hours till the car was finished. I ended up staying (I live about 35 minutes away.) It actually was done in 2 hours! The staff was charming & delightful. We had a good time chatting & the fact that they had comfortable chairs & a TV made the time go quickly. When the car was ready, they took me out to explain how it worked. They noticed my raggedy old headlights & offered to polish them up. I left about 15 minutes later with shining headlights, a job I had tried to get my son to do all summer! I work in a law office. This afternoon our real estate closer came in and gave me an evil look. She said she had cursed me this morning. When I asked why, she said it was because I had not had to fight with my car in the cold this morning. She was jealous of my auto-start! I told her to call Tint World ASAP! I had my vehicle's windows tinted. I had to reschedule my appointments several times due to personal conflicts. The shop was very understanding, and I had no issues. I was referred to the shop by a very reputable body shop and a friend, so I was expecting the best. Once at Tint World Bensonville, I ended up having to spend nearly DOUBLE what I was quoted on the phone in order to get the darkness and features I wanted in a quality film. The price didn't concern me at the time because I was expecting a superior product. Due to a storm and a power outage, my vehicle was not able to be completed for a couple days. I was kept informed with a couple phone calls which was good. The day I picked up my vehicle after the initial completion of the tint job, I recieved a phone call around 10am stating my vehicle was ready for pick up. I was on my way to the shop later in the afternoon that same day around 3pm and I got a follow up text reminding me that my vehicle was ready. I responded that I would be to the shop in 20 minutes. Once I arrived I was informed that they had FORGOTTEN to install the sun strip and that I would have to wait another 15 minutes. Once my vehicle was completed it was pulled up to the front door and I naturally started inspecting the windows. I was disappointed to find that the sun strip was poorly cut around the mirror. After politely but clearly expressing my dissatisfaction, I was told I would have to come back another day to have it corrected. I never got an apology for anything--not even for a misunderstanding of the end product at the very least. Before I left I had made an appointment for the next day. I felt like I was their last priority and was quite frankly being ignored. On arriving home, I found that 5 of my windows were not done satisfactorily. They either had dirt and or bubbles under the film as well as gaps. I was very disappointed, especially since I had 2 great referrals. On top of the low quality tint job, I had water dribble marks on the inside and outside of my doors, and the windows were all streaky. I called Tint World first thing in the morning to inform them that there were windows that needed to be re-tinted. When I arrived to have the work corrected an installer came out to talk with me. The manager never offered assurance that the windows would be done correctly, an apology, or a single word to me. Again I felt ignored by management in the Bensonville location. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The installer said they would redo the windows. I also asked for my vehicle to be washed so the mess would be cleaned up from the tint job. I agreed that I would pay for it which was an additional $50 for a detail inside and out. When I recieved a phone call from the manager that my vehicle was done and ready to be picked up she said, " Your truck is ready to be picked up. Oh wait you wanted it washed right. Nevermind, it's not ready to be picked up yet. I'll call you later." 45 minutes later I got a second call stating it was ready to be picked up. The tint was satisfactory after having it redone. However my vehicle was hardly washed, let alone detailed. It appeared to not be vacuumed, there was still remnants of bird poop on the roof and the windows were all super streaky. I had given up on a job well done, so I paid for the detail job and left. I would NOT recommend Tint World Bensonville for tint, detailing or any other work after the sub par experiences I had. read more

Originally found the deal through another discount sites for an automatic starter and a tint job for my 2011 mustang. The company was honest from the beginning from the prices and what to expect as the outcome of the product. No surprises along with the final price. The staff are amazing. Very polite. And the owner is very understanding and helpful. I got my car back the day after. The work is polished and I have nothing to complain about Really recommend this place. Thanks!!!! read more
