The actions of one employee can say a lot about a company. While I did not have an occasion to use their services, I can however bear witness to the character of one of their employees. A friend visiting from Japan dropped her wallet while crossing the street in Princeton near the McCarter Theater. A Tindall & Ranson technician was driving by at the time. I dismissed the honk of a horn as he passed as it could not be for us. I then noticed the van slow down and turn around in the middle of the road. He got out and we made eye contact as he crossed the street to retrieve something from the ground. He continued in my direction, handing me my friend's wallet. I thanked him and with a smile he turned back to his van. While there is little more that I can do but thank him, at the very least I could post this. Thank you read more

He installed a water heater I bought from public service. Did a good job took 3-4 hours.

Just had a water heater installed by the most thorough and conscientious installer. Luciano was considerate of our home, thorough in his explanations, and meticulous in his work. It felt great to work with someone who obviously takes pride in doing things well. read more

I called about a leaking pipe. The receptionist was very curt and made me rephrase my project three times, sort of implying that I was stupid or muddled. Then she informed me that they couldn't get to my problem until three days hence. And just to come out would be $155. So I wrote a check, cut off the water supply to the lower half of my house, and waited. When a T&R plumber came out, he was cheerful but told me nothing was wrong, just runoff from A/C. I gave him the check, and he said it was not enough--I had to pay tax, too. I noted that I was told it would cost $155. Yes, he said, plus tax. I got a twenty dollar bill out, but he refused to make change. My wife asked if we could use a credit card, and he said that would cost an extra 3%. I wrote a new check. This is simply nickel-and-diming, and I find it demeaning and ethically problematic. The plumber was in my house for ten minutes at most, and the receptionist gave me the wrong cost, too. If you are considering using Tindall & Ranson, think again. read more

Very overpriced! Charged $750 for less than 2 hours work to replace a simple toilet seal & over $1000 install a kitchen sink garbage disposal not included the disposal. read more

I called these company as my water heater company suggested me to talk to the contractor listed on their site for the rusted water coming out of the water heater which was still under warranty. This technician who visted was trying brainwash me and suggested to replace the tank which is less that 6 years old. He was trying to oversell by stating that it would cost 600 dollars to replace the anode rod and it was worth replacing the tank, though the tank was absolutely fine and had no leaks. He did not have to flush as i had done it as part my maintanance routine. The company later sent me a quote of 600 dollars for replacing the anode rod. I bought the rod from Amazon for around 25 bucks and replaced it myself in 15 mins... Be Cautious, these guys try to rip you off !! read more

I had gotten several quotes and I was glad I went with PSEG and their installers Tindall and Ranson. Anthony Romano was a very professional and knowledgeable plumber. He explained everything thoroughly, was neat and efficient and gave me recommendations on ways to make the furnace/water heater room have better air flow. He and the extra man were both a good team and got the 75 gal out quickly and neatly. I wholeheartedly recommend them! read more

RUN from Tindall Ranson. This company has zero integrity. Charged $250 for a visit that required 15 minutes of work. The guy sat in my house chatting for the rest of the hour and then had the audacity to charge me for the pleasure (also note--I had a back injury and would have far preferred if he had just gone away!) Tried to speak to management at TR but they claim the fee was justified. NEVER EVER again. Take your business *anywhere* else. read more

I needed to have my water heater replaced. I went through PSEG, who sent me to Tindall & Ranson. I was scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2020. The technician they sent to my home was names Justin. He was the most patient, professional, knowledgable. I was a pleasure to have him take care of my issue. Thank you Tindall & Ranson for employing such a wonderful person. I will recommend your company to all of my friends. Thank you Justin for making a unpleasant situation bearable. read more

Finding a good plumber is like finding a diamond in the rough in New Jersey. Tindall & Ranson saved me...no hot water..tank part bad. I tried somewhere else on the recommendation of my home warranty...they were taking over two weeks to get the part. Tindall & Ranson were called as I saw no end in sight. They knew what my options were and I decided to get a new tank. Installed same day! For a great price. Employees are kind and knowledgeable. Don't look elsewhere. They are the best in the area. read more

I used this company because pseg recommended. They should stop recommending this company. I had Home Depot install a water heater for 40 percent less than this company would have charged. They also wanted to charged $165.00 for a additional man.Home Depot was able to do it with one man.The character of this company from the manager to technician was horrible. read more

Our hot water heater went so I called PSEG as we have the worry free repair service (which is very good to have). The service tech said and I agreed that the water heater should be replaced as it was 13 years old. I called the PSEG appliance replacement line and decided to get the 12yr warranty unit. They transferred me to the company that would do the installation. Tindall and Ranson plumbing. They said they would send someone out later that day. About 2hrs later they showed up. Andrew the technician explained what he would do and made several suggestions. I agreed and said ok to do it. Well to my surprise he said he would do it now! 2hrs later it was done. Andrew was amazing. Covered all the floors, removed the old heater, installed the new one, cleaned up when he was done and explained how to properly operate and maintain the unit. He was very professional and personable. As a note I thought the price was a little high but after it was all done it was worth it. Thank you Andrew! read more

Loved that both Dan and Steve showed up to my home in a mask during the Covid10 pandemic. They covered my floors in tarp so that my floors were protected as they came in and out from the snow. They provided quick service and instructions about the newly installed water heater. Overall I was satisfied with the friendly competent service. read more

Woke up to no heat in the house, January 29, 2019 and the weather calling for a Polar Vortex. I called Tindall & Ranson as they installed and preform maintenance on my heating unit. The receptionist was unsure of when they would be able to come out, but did assure me that it would be that day. I was very happy when I received a call about 11:00 that the technician was on his way. They were very professional, took their time to find out what the issue was and then fix the problem. I could not have asked for better service! read more

Started our year off with a burst in our hot water heater .... but no problem after calling Tindall & Ranson! From initial calls with Megan and Briana who were so helpful and informative to Michael, the installer who was courteous and knowledgable and ending with Dan and Steve who installed a chimney liner, required by West Windsor code, all gentlemen were very hard workers. Every employee was super nice and explained all the procedures in detail. We felt very confident with the advice and work and are totally satisfied with the speedy result. I highly recommend using Tindall and Ranson, a local company with superior employees. read more

Great service. I can't say enough how professional they are and how comfortable they made me. Most places can make you feel like you are being taken advantage of (because let's be real - I have NO idea how this stuff works), but not these guys. Came out ASAP on a Saturday, and while they could not complete my job, they pointed me in the absolute right direction. Will use them for anything in the future, and will recommend over and over again! read more

Beware! Called 10/14 to schedule to have a clog in the drain for my washing machine. Woman on the phone said they didn't have anyone available until the following Monday 10/21. Claims it has been busy. She said the estimate is $92 in addition to fees incurred if I decide to have her plumber fix the problem. I came to read the google reviews because she definitely didn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling. Thank goodness I did. Beware of this business!!! read more

We just had an emergency repair conducted on the boiler for our home's heating system. We called for assistance and the technician was onsite and completed the repair within the hour! Greg was courteous, professional and overall fantastic. He got the heat up and running quickly and saved our Christmas Eve! Would certainly recommend. read more

really happy with the entire process. They handled water and sewer line repairs for me, which is a job most plumbers will shy away from doing. Best part was tthey really assessed what the issue was and tried to find the root cause. They absolutely stand behind their work and came out right away when I found another issue. Great to know that they have my back during a very very stressful situation. read more

I used this company because our pool service recommend them. I thought I had a leak with backwash pool pipe. Plumber didn't want to touch the pool very unhelpful and charged for service. The whole time was an attempt to upsell services. It turns out I never had a backwash pipe problem just irrigation system head stuck and flooded yard. Should have stayed with my usual plumber would not have charged for showing up. read more

Today, I had their technician Bill at my home to install an HEPA filtration and air scrubber system onto my furnace. He was polite, clean, quiet and extremely professional. Not only did he ensure that I knew how to properly monitor the new additions to my HVAC system he installed, he left my basement area cleaner than when he arrived this morning! I was so happy, I called the office right after Bill left to let them know how great he was. This is my 6+ time using Tindall & Ranson and I would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a quality plumbing/heating service in the area. read more

Charged $150 for a 15 minute visit where our pilot light had gone out on the coldest night of the year. The invoice said it included a "diagnostic". No such "diagnostic" occurred. The technician opened up the furnace door and then came upstairs to ask me for a lighter with which to re-light it. Price gouging at its best. read more

They told me that it will cost total of $178 ($89+$89) for installation of dish washer. But when the plumber came to my house, he told me that it is going to cost $450. There was big price difference for the service. They should have told me the total cost (at least approximate cost). They charged me $95 doing nothing. I think it is just a cheating to customer. They have to tell the customer upfront everything clearly. I do not recommend anybody to get service from this company. read more

These guys used to be decent, local, service oriented. Don't know what happened. 3 days before Christmas, my furnace blower failed. I called and they dispatched a tech. Only after diagnosing the problem and getting a quote for over $700 (mind you it's 50 degrees and my kids are freezing) did the tech mention, oh, and you'll have to pay now. I said I had always been billed before and he said that they've had too many people slow pay and I needed to pay now. Merry Christmas Tindall and Ranson. My advice is to use a different service - one that treats it's customers like human beings. What a terrible company. Home Depot would have billed me for the same repair. read more
