The two of us were the only customers that Friday evening, we were aware that the people in the area usually eat late and thinking that it will get busy as the time goes by, but nope, just the two of us for the entire night in early February. Anyhow, after 12 days being in Italy (Rome, Florence, Pisa) I would say this place has the best meal I ever experienced right after I got to Sicily. We ordered octopus salad for appetizer, big portion, tender and fresh lemon vinaigrette. Couscous with fillet of fish, which is very typical dish or considered as the specialty of the area came with tomato fish broth to be poured on top, delicious. Some pasta with mushrooms, spinach and roasted nuts also delicious with some nutty flavor and al dente. Swordfish with crust of pistachio cooked in perfection. Green salad and slices of fresh tomatoes, simple but crispy green and sweet tomatoes. Plus a compliment of warm freshly baked bread which was one of the highlights after experiencing the hard and cold bread in Rome, unsalted bread in Florence and a so so bread in Pisa. We both were very satisfied for the quality of the food since they were only open for us, technically, but never cut corners in service and the waitress was very eager to help us in giving suggestions what to order. She always came back to our table to check if everything was alright. Last, we decided to have a cassata which is a popular dessert in the area. It was not too sweet and just right.
