As a main course we had the homemade pasta; mine with clams & zucchini; hers with Trapanese pesto which is made with fresh tomatoes & almonds. To accompany our meal, one of my favorite Donnafugata wines, Vigna di Gabri.

It's rather turned into a tourist trap. The cous cous here is advertised as freshly prepared according to the local tradition, but it was nothing to tell home about AND 19 Euro for one portion really is a LOT. I am pretty sure that last weekend's was my last visit here. In the meanwhile many good alternative options are available in the city.

Ok so the place is kinda austere with a rabbit's warren of small dining rooms. The lighting;…read morebright! But the pizza... Huge menu. Lots of toppings. Cheeses, eggplant, anchovies. It's Sicily. The crust is thick, not Napolitean style. But crispy and good. Then they cut it checkerboard style. This I haven't seen before. But you can then eat it with a fork. It gets very crowded so get there early. Seems to be a favorite with the local families. A unique experience and a wonderfully different kind of pie.
