When I spoke with Cathy on the phone her creativity and enthusiasm was apparent. I shared that the theme for our party was the Blues Brothers and that I had a matchbox car, a replica of the Bluesmobile from the movie, to use as the cake topper. Her ideas to expand on this theme were spot on! We arranged for the cake to be delivered to our hotel on the day of the party which was very convenient. I've visited this cake shop twice in the past two weeks (for an 50th bday cake and an 1st bday…read morecake), and both times had the same unpleasant experience with the same employee. The young woman working the counter was very rude and seemed visibly frustrated that she had to help us. When we asked for a double shot espresso, she curtly told us she "doesn't do that," with no attempt to be polite or accommodating. When we asked if something was wrong, she insisted she wasn't upset, but continued speaking in a sharp, dismissive tone. She comes across as miserable and clearly lacks basic customer service skills. It's disappointing, because the shop itself seems nice, but the attitude of this employee completely ruins the experience.
