Tin lives very close to me and a fine family. Hired them to trim bushes...spring clean-up....mulch all around my property. Completed the job today and the quality of their work and pricing is outstanding. Couldn't be more happier. John Lutz/Leola, PA read more

Tin and his crew just finished transforming our backyard. He poured a new concrete retaining wall, built a beautiful fence and redwood deck, and laid a fantastic stone patio- for far less than any other contractor we spoke with. They also work SO quickly- our deck and patio were done in under two weeks! I feel very lucky to have found Tin. read more

Tin transformed our dirt yard into a low maintenance, low water use hardscape. We showed him a hand drawn sketch of what we wanted, and he built it. They had to remove several truckloads of dirt, build a level patio, build a retaining wall out of reclaimed cobblestone, make a dry creek bed out of reclaimed river rock from our old chimney, remove tree stumps, and haul in several tons of small river rock to make "mulched" rock beds. Tin's team was easy to work with. They showed up every day and got the project finished as quickly as possible. read more

Loved that they showed up in masks following mandates. I can't say enough how wonderful Tin and his crew were. We needed a lot done in our back yard and front. We had both yards landscaped 10years ago but the Sunset gophers destroyed our front and back. Plus, our yards were high maintenance and I could not keep up. When we told Tin what we wanted he totally came through and we couldn't be happier. Tin was very easy to talk to about everything and any changes or fixes that needed to be done during the job. Tin was very reasonably priced. He worked within our budget. Him and his workers were very courteous and hard working. We are so pleased and happy how everything turned out. People who walk by our front yard complement on it all the time and ask who did the work. We highly recommend Tin Landscaping!! read more

I can recommend Tin and his crew without any reservation. Access was difficult but they made it look easy. The backyard was unusable and belonged to the gophers. It's now a source of pride and they made sure to make it difficult for the gophers to return. Our backyard feels twice as big and it's going to be a place where we can entertain and relax. We're very happy with Tin's work and wish him great success going forward. read more

I highly recommend Tin landscaping as Tin is very knowledgeable, easy to work with, and super accommodating to changes and new requests. He and his crew worked very hard everyday and transformed my sloped backyard with just dirt into a beautiful patio with retaining walls, paver stones, planter boxes, sprinkler system, lights, and hand rails. I get to enjoy my beautiful new backyard everyday now and would highly recommend Tin to everyone who wants to renovate their yards! read more

Having reached that time in life when I was no longer a match for the gophers and weeds that were determined to take over our backyard, I decided that it was time to transform the yard to a low maintenance space. Thankfully, with Tin Landscaping, I chose the right company to accomplish this. Working without a formal plan, Tin was able to take my rough sketch and the ideas we talked about for the yard and create just the landscape I had in mind. Tin listened well to what I wanted to do while providing his own expert feedback and advice on how best to accomplish what we wanted in the project. Tin was involved in all aspects of the work each day, making sure that everything was done correctly and as we wanted. He and his crew were always on time, kept us informed on what they were doing, and were a real pleasure to work with. And at the end, he went out of his way in selecting & placing three meditation rocks that make the perfect center piece for our beautiful new low maintenance landscape. read more

This review is long overdue. I called Tin on a Saturday, he was out to my house the that week for a prelim look and quote. Although I had an existing plan in mind, he had great suggestions and we ended up turning our depressing slope of a front yard into a drought tolerant, rock riverbed beauty. Pictures attached. His prices were very reasonable compared to two other landscapers in the area. Tin and his workers were always on time and cleaned up the area everyday after their work. Best of all, he is legit and licensed with the state. His materials and work are high quality as well. We're impressed that we're looking to have him work on our backyard this summer. read more

Found Tin's Landscaping thanks to fellow Yelpers. Everyone was dead on. Tin did an amazing job - most affordable, reliable, great job and trustworthy. Our garden which was an overgrown mess of weeds and crab grass needed an overhaul and within 3 days Tin had the garden cleared with new plants and new sod implemented. It looked beautiful and he picked all the plants and flowers on his own. Tin came in on budget and within time line. He's honest and true to his word. read more

When we moved into our new home, the front lawn was a hot mess. The sellers put in a temporary grass solution without proper chicken wire or a functioning sprinkler system. By the time we took possession of the home, the entire front lawn wad brown and overrun with holes dug up by gopher. We met with a few landscapers, and decided to go with Tin. Our decision was not purely based on economics. Tin wasn't the cheapest, but we trusted him. Once we agreed on the project scope - Tin and his crew went to work. It took a few days to rip out all the old grass and dirt, and lay the proper chicken wires. My husband and I decided to implement drought friendly landscaping-- a combination of rocks and planter boxes with succulents. The entire project was completed in a little over a week, and we are very pleased with results. I high recommend Tin for your landscaping needs. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant interaction with Tin after I asked him to come check out the sprinkler system that he installed. One of the parts wasn't working and I wanted him to test the system and if it needed fixing, to fix it, and if it just needed reprogramming (after the power went out) to help me reprogram it. He thought that I accused him of breaking it, which I don't think I did, although with his poor grasp of English it was difficult to tell what he understood from the exchange. He argued with me for around 20 mins that he told my partner 'too many times' how to program this sprinkler system, which she claims he did not. He raised his voice to me both in my garden and on the street, both of which when my neighbors were around. My neighbors thought he was very rude, in fact more strongly than I did, which gave me some perspective, as I wasn't sure exactly what he was saying a lot of the time. He also made it very difficult for me to watch him reprogram the system and told me he was only going to reprogram once and that I was never to touch it. He thinks we touched it, but we it just rebooted after the power went out. To top it off, he said just before he slammed his door, that 'you americans don't listen and you don't remember and always give me problems', which my onlooking neighbors did not like one bit but which I didn't really understand as I'm not American and don't sound anything like and American. I would like an apology. I cannot recommend Tin for anything and I will not have him come back ever again to fix the sprinkler. He didn't even set the sprinkler system correctly, he only set it for one day and not on an auto cycle! At least I think I know how to correct this but I will have to sit with the sprinkler box for a while to set it from manual to auto. FAIL! read more

I didn't really bid around, so I can't tell you about pricing, but Tin and his guys showed up precisely when he said they would, rehabilitated my crappy backyard in a couple days, stained my fence and deck, put in beautiful sod, and cleaned up after themselves when they left. One point on his honesty -- I guess he had to buy some extra stain to get the job done, but was like super concerned that I wouldn't believe him, so went to great lengths to show me precisely why he needed to buy the extra $17 worth of stain, showed me the receipt and the empty can, etc. Now that I type that, it seems like it could be overcompensation or consciousness of guilt... But I choose to believe that he's just an honest hardworking dude. read more

Tin is the greatest. We had met with other landscapers to provide us with an estimate to transform our cluttered backyard into a usable space with a brick patio. Not only was Tin the most reasonably priced, we had a feeling he'd be the most reliable and honest. And we were right. We ultimately hired Tin. He and his team did an amazing job; the workmanship was excellent, and they completed the work before scheduled and without a hiccup. My husband and I were delighted with the final end product and absolutely love our brick patio. I would highly recommend Tin to anyone and will definitely use him in the future if the need ever arises. read more

We hired Tin to remove all the concrete from our backyard, make a sunken patio and create a level, paver alley walkway. He and his amazing crew did a phenomenal job - such hard workers with so much attention to detail (see photo of how Tin cut the patio paver so that the deck beam wouldn't mess up the design/symmetry). We could not be happier with how Tin and his team transformed our backyard and would highly recommend Tin Landscaping. read more

Tin just finished up our backyard landscaping and we are very happy with the final result. We got his name and info from our neighbors; he had landscaped their last backyard in Noe Valley and then landscaped their new backyard in the Outer RIchmond. Overall, he was very quick and thorough and the price was right! Personally, I am not really familiar with the "going rate" for backyard landscaping but, apparently, our neighbors had gotten several quotes and Tin was the most reasonable. He also knows his stuff! Tin said he was going to start in December but, because of all the rain, his projects were all pushed back and we just opted to just have him start after the holidays and new year. He spent 6 days (that's it!) re-landscaping. He put in a retaining wall/flower bed along the uphill side of our yard and then leveled out/removed the excess dirt. He then put in top soil and grass and installed a complete sprinkler system. We are very happy with our new backyard and can't wait for the sunshine so we can host a BBQ!!! Thanks, Tin! Of note, he also does the maintenance landscaping if that's something you might be interested in. We are going to try and maintain our own backyard for now but that might be something to consider down the road. read more

We just used Tin and his crew to install a Keystone block wall in our backyard and they were excellant. Hardworking who started the project and stayed with it till finished. Tin is a ten out of ten! Made my corner lot and backyard look showcase ready. Extended a fence line, added sprinkler system, new grass...the works. Competitive pricing, honest, on time, you name it. I have had about 20 people walking and driving by stop and not only compliment the work but asked who was the landscaper. Tin! Thanks for the the Yelp reviews, this is how I found Tin, so I hope this is helpful for others. read more

We just completed a renovation of our rear and side yards with Tin's Landscaping. Tin completed the original work on our yard over 20 years ago and it was time to do some updating! The project included masonry foundation walls, new fencing, planter boxes, updating irrigation, adding brick work and replacing plants. We planned this work some months ago and Tin arrived on time, on the day we had prearranged. He adhered to his schedule and kept us updated on the project. We plan on having him back in 20 more years! read more

Tin did great work at our house, removing an old fish pond and paving over with brick in a herringbone pattern. He reminded me of my father in many ways--reliable, capable, a man of his word, a real all-American guy. We had a good conversation about the public schools in SF and which ones our kids went to. I found him on Yelp, and I definitely recommend him. read more

Tin is an awesome landscaper. I called Tin and he agreed to meet me and look at my backyard on SuperBowl Sunday. Now that is what I call accommodating. I shared my ideas and we shook hands. Not knowing what kind of water/drought situation in the future, I reversed my decision to put grass and go with flagstone instead. I sent Tin a photograph for inspiration and Tin went ahead and accomplished what I asked for. He sent me to Broadmoor in SSF to look and pick the flagstone. We discussed what type of plants. Tin went to work quickly. In three days he finished the task, complete with drip and sprinkler system. Very good man. I highly recommend his services. He's the type of man that a handshake is a contract. Very trustworthy. Crew was clean and tidy. Pics attached read more

If it weren't for Yelp, I would not have found Tin. I called several landscapers listed. He was one of two to return the call and by far the mos reasonable. Very simple stuff but even more than I was hoping for. Great work. He was a pleasure to deal with. read more

Tin was great. We had to have our entire yard done from scratch. It was just a field of sand and rocks. He came by with some pictures of his work and gave us some ideas. I also had a plan that someone drew up for me. I had quotes from other landscapers and they were more expensive. Tin asked me questions about what I wanted along the way and didn't make his own decisions which was nice. He also gave suggestions when I asked which was nice too. He installed a deck, grass, watering system, and a planter box perimeter around the yard. He was there every day when he said he would be and it was important to him that the job was done with quality. I'm happy with everything and it all went very smoothly. read more

We have a small backyard, like many San Francisco homes. For about 3 years, the home was a construction site, so the yard was full of excess, tamped down dirt from the foundation work, lots of construction debris, giant weeds, a pre-existing concrete fountain, and access issues created by the neighboring homes built right to the property line on both sides. It was a nightmare for us as homeowners and for contractors facing the need to hand carry all debris and dirt out and all supplies in. Just to do that involved hand carrying everything up and down many steps and about 3/4 of a block. The slope is also considerable. Other potential bidders either said it would be way too expensive, so they refused to take it on, or they said we needed an engineer and other specialists to create a hardscaping plan. Their bids were so outrageous, we almost thought it couldn't be done either physically or financially--we nearly gave up. Mr. Tin came to see the site, and without an engineer, calculated what we needed in terms of sloping, retaining walls, steps, a flagstone patio, a walkway, a two-level garden, etc. It all works beautifully. Even with torrential rain, we have no standing water, no soil washout issues, and our own and our neighbors' property is protected--drainage is perfect. He had listened to what we wanted, and he just did it. He made a reasonable, firm bid that included hardscaping (retaining walls, a patio, and stone and brick paths), a lighting system, an irrigation system, and plants and planting. He and his team came when they said they would, worked hard and efficiently, and brought the project to a close early and on budget. He did what he promised and was a pleasure to work with. You will not be sorry if you hire him. read more

My wife and I decided last summer that it was finally time to turn our backyard of weeds, collapsing retaining walls, and leaning fences into a more lively space. We called Tin for a quote, and he gave us plenty of ideas. His quote was very reasonable, and he was very knowledgable. After five weeks of work, Tin and his crew transformed our yard into our personal urban getaway. He cleaned out all the weeds and dead plants, built two new retaining walls, tore down old fencing and replaced with horizontal redwood fencing, laid two flagstone patios, and planted new sod surrounded by mulched flower beds with a variety of plants and trees. Six months later, even during the winter, the green from our sod and plants still give us the joy and satisfaction of having a real and functional backyard. Tin was a real joy to work with! read more

Tin rebuilt the retaining wall and fence between us and the neighbors behind us. He also rebuilt one of their side fences. Tin came out to look at the project on our schedule and gave us a competitive quote within a few days. His references were all responsive/positive. He could have started the next week, but we pushed he schedule back a bit. He started demolition on Monday, and within 1 week he had finished the 25' wall & fence, and the 50' side fence on on the side of out neighbors yard. We got the "ugly" side of the fence, but we asked him to face our side too- which he did the next day for just a little more $. He left the area very clean- as if nothing had ever happened. Can't recommend him enough. When we have more projects we'll be calling him back. read more
