First, he said he needed to make sure we didn't have a leak. Well...we had a slab leak. He referred us to a fantastic plumber (Eddy Ks Plumbing and Heating) that fixes leaks under slabs and he did a phenomenal job. We still wanted to replace the water heater so Joe was patient while all the excavation, repair, and restoration work was done. Joe did a great job replacing our water heater and even built a new stand/table for it. We were billed what we were quoted and he showed up on time and was very professional. We will definitely call him for any future heating, cooling or plumbing needs.

They did some work in my evaporative system on the roof on one of the hottest days of the summer, as well as ordered and replaced a whirley bird vent. I just had them back to shut off my unit, start up my furnace, and clean the furnace. Next spring, I'll have them replace my old rusty evaporative unit ~ and their estimate was very fair and affordable. Having qualified, ethical, knowledgable handi-people is no small thing. They are my go-to for all things HVAC and Plumbing going forward.

Called several companies, dealt with outrageous quotes and fast talk. Brian at Horizon was calm, took the time to explain what he would do. He confirmed our appointment and showed up ready to do a full check up and maintenance. We also asked for a video of the plumbing -which had repairs done last year by an outfit I will not name. Brian did the tune up/clean up. The furnace checked out fine, thank goodness. The video did reveal a significant vertical breach in a major pipe that had been steadily leaking under a bathroom. Brian referred "My PLumber" for the pipe replacement. Dodged a looming disaster! Great job all around. So nice to work with good, honest service professionals.

Let me share with you what they did to us: 4 years ago, we spent 20K on an HVAC unit from them…read more Then, 2 years ago we bought a 40-gallon water heater. They charged us $3,700. We know now that this is about $2,000 above market cost. They gave us a 1-year warranty. We know now the usual warranty is for 5-6 years. When we called them to repair the unit, we spent all day fighting with them over the estimated cost to repair---they wanted to charge us $809. The cost of the coupling part is $10-40. In Albuquerque, typical cost should be $100-150. So, they wanted to charge us 400% above market price for a two year old unit that they vastly overcharged us for in the first place. I know these guys have high ratings. But this is New Mexico, where nepotism and chicanery is Third World, at best. Get your family to write great reviews. It's ridiculous here. But, by all means, hire these guys. They WILL over-charge you. They WILL NOT stand behind their work. Lastly, they could care less about their customers. Anyone can look this stuff up. I wish we had before we hired they sheisters. And as I see Emma responded to my review i'll pass on here that there's no way for me to respond to what she wrote---she left out all of the above. I will sit down with you, Emma, and we can look, together, at everything I wrote here and you can show me where I am wrong. I'm not and I'm certain that you won't take me up on that offer as you know full well I am right.

Did the work in a fair and transparent fashion. I was very pleased with his work ethic and flexibility, and no wait at all. Other contractors had quoted me 2-3 weeks just to diagnose. I wish everything were this easy and professional in life. I have a hard time estimating price, but I did look up the parts cost, and this was in line with what I would have expected to pay for the service. Certainly fair for getting my family back to comfort and I imagine similar to that of other contractors (none of whom could come out and offer a second bid because they were too behind). I would recommend them again and am happy to know a good HVAC guy now.

It ended up being a huge job but the price was fair and they were friendly and efficient. Last night my AC stopped working (yes THAT 100 degree day). That fixed it for 24 hours but then it stopped again. So I put in better batteries, still nothing. Checked the breakers etc. I thought I'd checked everything. Saturday we randonly called from a Yelp listing and it turned out to be the same Daniel's. for a 290 dispatch fee they sent a guy out in 2 hours. The good part, he fixed it in 10 seconds. The bad part was that the problem was a loose fan door which I had looked at but hadn't closed as tightly as possible. When the fan had restarted the night before it must have loosened the door. Doesn't matter, the tech Daniel, but not the THE Daniel came fast and fixed the problem and didn't charge more than the dispatch fee. We scheduled a proactive maintenance tune-up with Daniels, who installed the system for a prior…read moreowner. We had experienced no issues with the system. The technician cleaned the coil, found a failed capacitor, and installed a Turbo 200X capacitor and start assist. The charge was $831.40 on a single, non-itemized line. The same Turbo 200X capacitor sells for about $80 on Amazon. I contacted Daniels and gave them an opportunity to explain both the invoice and their pricing. I was told a manager would call me. No manager ever did. I also noticed that the one-star reviews I found repeatedly mention excessive pricing, which unfortunately is consistent with my experience. $831 for a routine maintenance visit that resulted in a new capacitor is an extraordinary charge, more than the benchmark for Albuquerque, and well above industry standards. The lack of itemization and the failure to respond when I asked for an explanation make this even more concerning. I would strongly advise homeowners to get a second opinion and an itemized estimate before authorizing any repair with Daniels. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again.
