Had my 2nd root canal with Dr. Wong. One last year and one yesterday. When my regular dentist told me I would need my 2nd root canal I made it clear it would have to be with Dr. Wong since i had such an easy expirience the first time. And again he made the process so easy & painless. He's very patient & kind. I was told to also take Tylenol as needed for the next few days. Haven't had any pain or discomfort at all. My tooth had chipped and the root got infected so I was referred by my brother to Dr. Wong with two options: extract the tooth or attempt to save it with a root canal. Dr. Wong and his staff were great through the whole procedure, making me comfortable and talking me through every step of the way. He even has a video feed on the TV so I could see what he was seeing. Afterwards, he warned me I'd be sore the next couple days but TBH I might've been sore immediately after but 12 hours later and I hardly feel anything. Dr. Wong's skills are the real deal. For a root canal, I had a pretty darn good experience overall. I'd previously had a root canal in the mid 80's in Burlingame and remembered it as a painful and uncomfortable experience, by a Dr. who seemed impatient and cranky. Yikes. This was altogether different, staff was helpful, pleasant, and it was nice to have a genuinely caring person assisting Dr. Wong before, during and after the procedure. Dr. Wong was diligent, earnest, kept me informed during the entire process and it was literally painless. The only discomfort was keeping my yapper open long enough for an hour-long procedure-but it really felt like they did their best to minimize my discomfort. Thank you! read more

I was recommended to Dr. Wong by my family dentist. I needed a root canal done and this was my first appointment with Dr. Wong. I must say that if I ever need another root canal done he would be my choice as he was so professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He had excellent "bedside manners"!! It is not about the doctor but about the billing services. I paid them at the office for my son's services. We all know that we paid right away before the service started. I had no idea that we still owed the office some money. Now, my son told me about the collection letter he received. I called and asked for the invoice and was told that it cannot be sent to me. My son has to come and pick it up when he is working in SF now. Then I said if I could pay with my visa for my son's bill, but they refused. They wanted me to pay for the collection with double the original amount. It is ironic that dr. Fat and Dr. Wong don't want to take my payment and work with his customers, but they team up with the collection agency and pay them 30% fee, which causes a heavy burden on customers' shoulders. I wish Dr. Fat to read this note, and have understanding and empathy for his customers. I am sure that this is his intention with his practice, but that is what the front office did. I'm from Reno but my regular dentist is in Sacramento so I'm willing to travel for quality care. This time my regular dentist couldn't handle the problem; a toothache on a tooth he had put a crown on years ago. Pull it and get a post? He said try to save your tooth and sent me to his endodontist, Dr. Wong. He got me an emergency appointment and I met Dr. Wong and his staff. The Doctor was able to save my tooth with a pain free root canal; my first. 3-D imaging to diagnose the problem and state of art instruments. He was even able to work through my crown and save it. Wow, what a relief to drive over the mountains pain free. If I need an endodontist again; this is where I will go. Thank you Dr. Wong! read more

I was referred to Dr. Timothy Wong by my Dentist for two root canals that got infected below the roots at about the same time. There was really nothing that I could have done to prevent the infection. Just a few weeks earlier I had seen my dentist and there were absolutely no signs of any issues. Apparently, root canals can have micro leaks where bacteria would enter and, hence, my issue. I had been in pain for the entire weekend and was on chained Vicodin to dam the pain. I was VERY fortunate to have gotten an appointment slot at the end of the day. When I got there I learned that all Dr. Wong does are root canals all day long. I guess that is what and edodontist does. In any case, after a little over two hours of work on my tooth, all the pain are gone. Dr. Wong drilled a hole in my infected tooth to drain out the rest of the puss that had accumulated from the infection. He was kind enough to let me take a picture of it to show my kids. Before, during and after the dental work, he explained each step and his findings. He gave me options, which I didn't have the expertise in to choose so I opted for his expert advise. Dr. Wong is very personable and I highly recommend him. I have to return for the finish work on this tooth and then on to the other infected tooth, which isn't as urgent as the infected area found on it's own a way to drain out the infection. I can't wait until all this toothache madness is behind me. I jokingly told Dr. Wong that I now know why dentists make so much money. The pain I experienced from my jaw thru my ears and onto my head were unbearable. I lost an entire weekend to it and if it were not stopped, I don't think I can go about a normal day. Up to now, Dr. Wong gets 5 Stars. My 2nd tooth was the opposite experience. Dr. Wong said he could save the tooth using his expert advise and x-ray, but during surgery I heard a crack and then he broke the bad news to me that he couldn't save the tooth. I can't really argue if he broke my tooth during his work or not since it's my word against his and I dont' have a way to prove whether he broke the tooth while operating or whether it was broken prior. Unfortunately, I was out money based on his 'attempt'. I didn't get any refund. He said he did his best to save the tooth but because it was already 'broken' he couldn't do anything to save it. I find it very frustrating that he told me he could save it based on his best opinion and then after the surgery said it's no good and still charged me the full amount. It's like if you hired a contractor to fix a problem and he gives his best attempt and wasn't able to fix what he said he could..., yet he walks away and still charge you the full amount for it. I was angry with him, but since his family goes to the same church I go to I'll leave it up to god to judge him. That's all I can say. I'm revising my rating to 2 stars for the experience with the tooth he couldn't save. You be the judge on whether you want him to work on your tooth. I think he does do good work, but don't get too excited about his claims to be able to fix your problems. read more

Lame doctor. first off, I was all numbed up when he asked the staff if they'd charged my card for the services he hadn't provided yet. SO, they take the napkin off my chest and sent me out to the front to pay for the root canal. Dr. Wong was my own dentists last recommendation. He preferred I see someone else and now I see why. INTRODUCTION: I fully trust Dr. Timothy Wong. He did a root canal on a problem tooth in 2008 and that tooth is still fine today. MY STORY: My dentist quit and sold his clientele list to another dentist in the region. In mid 2008 that new interim dentist diagnosed that a root canal was all that was needed for a problem tooth. Then he abruptly changed his mind and decided that he wanted to pull the infected tooth and put in a $3,000.00 false implanted tooth. He next requested that I go to his endodontist buddy a half-block away for a supportive second opinion which would help him justify the more expensive work with my dental insurance program. That endodontist read my dentist's opinion and merely concurred that the tooth couldn't be saved. Immediately after seeing that endodontist, I decided to stop by a friend's office in the area for a visit. The friend happened to be one of my attorney friends who had worked for years in the dental field prior to next becoming an attorney. In our chit-chat conversation I happened to mention my current dental dilemma and asked for her opinion. She also felt that I needed to try to save that tooth. I emailed my dentist and told him that I had been discussing my situation with an attorney friend who had formerly been in the dental field for many years. I said my attorney friend was also very concerned about the questionable diagnosis of my dentist and his cohort/endodontist friend. That (former) dentist became extremely alarmed and immediately gave me a 30-day termination notice. I discussed this later with my attorney friend who said that when you tell your doctor or dentist that you are consulting with an attorney about their proposed procedures they generally become rather alarmed (hah)! I next went to an honest long-term dentist friend. He looked at my tooth and diagnosed that only a root canal was needed. I then informed him of the evaluation of the much younger (interim/former) dentist. He looked again and said there was absolutely no reason to pull that tooth. CONCLUSION: It is good to have a dentist and endodontist who you can trust to only do that work which is actually needed and do it correctly. SUMMARY: I personally thank Dr. Timothy Wong for accomplishing this difficult and tedious root canal procedure on two of my teeth to date. I am now a patient of another dentist who bought out the practice where I have been going since 2008. He personally uses Dr. Wong for his own root canal work. He too feels Dr. Wong is top notch. read more

I saw Dr. Wong for a root canal on a tooth that was causing so much pain it was keeping me up at night. He and his staff were very professional and courteous. They took my needs into consideration, even allowing me to schedule a late-afternoon appointment (which caused them to stay a bit past their normal closing time) because it worked out best for my schedule. Dr. Wong explained the whole process to me, both before and during the procedure, and that gave me a nice level of comfort. I needed a root canal and my dentist was booked for the whole week so she referred me to root canal specialists in this office. My dentist's office was kind enough to call them and make an appointment for root canal for the next day. when I went there they made me wait on the chair for 45 min and after examination they gave me the expert advice that I have three ways to go. 1- do the root canal 2- pull it out 3 - "LIVE WITH IT" and they charged my insurance $147 for the amazing consulting that they did. When I asked them if we can do the root canal today their answer was "NO, it is two hours procedure which you need to make an appointment for" .... The interesting thing is my own dentist told them specifically that I need root canal and it is an urgent matter . It seems they were just trying to get the patient to their office, and it doesn't matter if they can provide any service or not. read more

I have been to Dr. Timothy Wong for numerous root canal and gum surgeries. Dr. Wong has always been kind, soft-spoken and professional. I had two problematic teeth that kept flaring up and Dr. Wong fixed them 3 times without additional charge. I don't know what the protocol is for repaired dental work, but I am truly appreciative for not having to shelve out extra money to get my teeth fixed. Dr Wong has very high standards in his profession and is very skillful at what he does. It doesn't hurt when he uses local anesthesia to numb the operation area. He is not the only one who is good at what he does. His assistants are also well-trained. I have never experienced any discomfort from any of the procedures over the years. One of his long time assistants, Chris, is very good at removing stitches. This is a skill that is highly appreciated by someone who has very low pain tolerance! I especially love the two high-energy ladies at the front disk; they are highly efficient and friendly. Dr. Wong and his staff deserve 5 stars! read more

If I could give Dr. Wong negative stars I would. He was so rude, his wife called while ibwas getting a consult and upside down practically and his wife need him to call him over some urgent matter and he told the assistant he didnt care, and they said they dont know what to do, he rolled his eyes and shooed her away with a glare. He only got more rude as the consult went on. He asked me if I was stupid when I told him I payed a lot for my veneers, which isnt any of his business how much I paid and hes lucky I didnt push him out my way he was insulting me over and over, me, a stranger who hasnt said one bad thing, who came to him for help. He finally insulted me for the last time and I pushed his equipment out of my face and got up out the chair even thou it was still way reclined. And he said whatever walk away bye. I am glad he lost my referral twice cuz he is not allowed to charge me for insults! What a jerk!! Hope his wife leaves him too! read more
