Dr. John C. Fat and his entire team are absolutely incredible. After months of extreme cold sensitivity, I woke up in the middle of the night with a debilitating abscess and severe, radiating tooth pain. I honestly couldn't function. That same day, I received a last-minute referral to Dr. Fat, and even though it was late in the evening, he and his staff went above and beyond to stay late and make sure I received the care I desperately needed. What meant the most to me was the level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern for my comfort. Dr. Fat prioritized quality care while making sure I was as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Going into this, I had a deep fear of root canals after watching my father suffer with years of dental pain -- but Dr. Fat completely changed that for me. My husband was referred to Dr. Fat for a painful lump in his mouth. Dr. Fat assesses it and discovered a large abscess near a tooth. I was referred to Dr. Fat for an infected root canal. Other dentists had pushed for me to have surgery but Dr. Fat provided me an alternative to treat the root canal with advanced technology that other dentists didn't offer me as an option. Today I went to see Dr. Fat for a root canal. Honestly after meeting him the first time for the consultation, I was put at ease by the staff and Dr. Fat. As with most people I was nervous about the appointment, but Dr. Fat and his staff quickly took care of me. If you find yourself in need of a root canal, this is the dentist you want to see. He is personable, caring, explains what is doing and checks in with you throughout the procedure. His staff is also very attentive and caring as well. He stated he was one of the best in the business and still could not remove a foreign body from my face that a real surgeon, maxillo facial, now has to take care of. Rest assured that Kaiser and Delta dental will be coming after him for that money. He also doesn't believe root canals hurt. So he provides no pain management whatsoever. I do notice there are bibles on the table in the waiting room. Perhaps he's waiting for Jesus to fix the very real pain in our mouths after being rooted around in like that. He was not gentle with the initial freezing, and did not care much about the fact that I was choking on my own spit half the time time, only offering suction when he could audibly hear me suffering. He made me pay for a CT scan of the face that was 250 dollars more than my insurance would cover as it would "assist him in studying my case so he could remove to foreign body (a titanium file left in my root canal from a failed procedure by another dentist) then didn't even try to take it out. Just Covered covered up a foreign body in an infected tooth and smoothed it over with concrete leaving it for my dentist to handle. Front desk lady Tracy is awesome. Dr Fat things he is god and his extractions and procedures don't hurt because he has some special touch or grace others don't. We call that a god complex. He spent more time telling us how much his equipment cost than asking me how I was doing. Will be fighting the charges with Delta and the DMHC considering a real maxilla facial surgeon states it is inappropriate to leave hardware in someone's face let alone seal it to rot with cement. read more

I have never had a root canal done before, but I can say that Dr. Fat did excellent work and he takes extra care in numbing the tooth and making you comfortable! Cannot remember a more courteous, efficient and expert doctor I have ever visited. He was patient with my questions, explained and alerted me to everything he was doing. He even saw me as an emergency patient so I could come in the same day and did not have to wait for a long appointment time. His staff was also excellent. Oh man was I dreading this root canal! I was so freaked out and Dr. Fat was patient with me and managed to make this horrible, frightening, no-good day hardly horrible at all. True professional. He fixed a root canal that a dentist debacle so badly. After cleaning up the tooth he also performed surgery to clean up the infected area. Dr Fat even gave me a telephone call over the weekend to checkup on my progress. There are very few doctors that are approachable and really care about there patients more than money. Somehow my first rating was deleted but I want to take the time to write another one because I want to give my highest recommendation possible for Dr Fat. My root canal was done after hours on a Friday and done with the most up to date equipment. I was able to watch his work via a monitor, very cool. Results couldn't be better. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from Dr Fat himself on Saturday checking in on me. Also, since I left at 11pm on Friday and it was not only Dr Fat but his assistant...I thought the canal would cost an arm and a leg. It was actually more than reasonable. Considering the pain I was in I would have paid more. Dr Fat will be my endodontist of choice in the future...hopefully distant future. Also, go eat at his restaurants, they're great. A few months ago, I started having pain on a tooth for which I previously had root canal treatment performed. My general dentist referred me to this office. Dr. Fat informed me that I had an abscess underneath the tooth. He discussed all my treatment options in a very clear, concise manner. I was initially scheduled about a month out, but he was kind enough to squeeze me in sooner than that (literally 2 days after my initial consult) to perform the root canal treatment. He uses new technology that is minimally invasive, which I appreciate. Aside from the initial local anesthesia they applied to my gums, there wasn't much pain at all. He explained everything he and his assistant were doing during the procedure. After the treatment was performed, he provided clear instructions on how to take care of the tooth in the following weeks. He even called me later that evening to check on how I was doing. It's never fun to have to get root canal treatment done for a tooth, but honestly, Dr. Fat and his office made it as tolerable as it could be. Everyone here (doctors, hygienists, office staff) was kind and professional. I highly recommend this clinic! read more

I am such a chicken when it comes time for a root canal. I called them because I was in such pain with an abscessed tooth. They worked me in and made me feel at ease. They told me all about the procedure and the procedure took a little over two hours. Then I went home and was at my computer. I've had my first root canal recently in Dr. Fat's clinic. On my first visit (initial check-up with appointment) I was seated right away on the dental chair. The dental assistant made everything to keep me comfortable. Their facilities are really modern and the clinic is really clean. Although, I had to wait for around 30mins for my turn. On the actual day of the procedure, I informed Dr.Fat that based on my previous wisdom tooth surgery, I needed extra anesthesia since I am the type of person that meds/anesthesia takes a long time to take effect. He said he will give me an extra dose and that during the procedure if I have any pain whatsoever, I just need to inform him and he will add more. I did needed but just one extra shot. All the rest of the surgery went well. I'm really glad how dr. Fat was really good in what he does; plus really nice too. Too bad he doesn't do general dentistry. This review is not for the doctor himself since I've actually never gone to the office yet, but this is for the receptionist or whoever answers and handles the phone calls and appointments. I was never told when my first appointment was, and when I missed it (since I was never told I had to go) I basically got scolded over the phone for it, saying they are extremely over booked and that I basically wasted their time. So that appointment was cancelled. I just received a phone call this morning confirming my appointment for this Thursday which, AGAIN, I was never told this information. I'm just expected to drop everything I'm doing last minute with no warning. It felt like I got scolded again over the phone saying I was a no-show to my first appointment, and the entire feel over the phone seemed very passive-aggressive. The first phone call back in September was truly the worst. I have never been talked to in such a manner by an employee. I was excited to go to this office, but now I'm turned off by the entire place based on the attitudes of whoever handles the phone. read more

Rare balance of amazing skill with genuine caring personality. Did not feel the anesthesia injection and remained numb the entire procedure. Was frequently checked in on by him and his staff to ensure my comfort. Explained step-by-step the entire procedure with xray and prosthetic models. Spent the time getting to know me and my significant other. And, even after the procedure when he cautioned possible inflammatory pain, I still felt nothing given his meticulous work. Cost of procedure for cash paying patient was very competitive and by far no comparison given his superb work. Even called to check-in post procedure!
