If you are looking for a good ENT doctor I do not recommend Doctor Timothy. He does lazy work, only does normal testing you can get done with your primary doctor. He does not like to do more testing and does not listen and was very rude. End of my appointment he walked away from me and said you're all good and did not care what I had to say. read more

I arrived at 230 when I thought my appointment was. Rather than telling me my appointment was at 4 they have me wait. Waste of time. Chalks everything up to allergies when allergy testing shows none, then flippantly says, "Well they can't test for everything." Did the good patient thing and took the allergy meds anyway with no changes. Follow-up visit was the same: just take allergy meds. Like many of the reviews, the staff is completely rude. From the moment I made the appointment, they were short and unprofessional. But I needed to see an ENT as soon as possible and didn't have the luxury to wait for another referral because of the pain I have been in. Mind you I waited 2 months for this appointment. I had just recently moved to the San Diego area and had to commute over 2 hours to see this physician. Because of the traffic, I was 30 minutes late. My appointment was at 8am and I arrived at 8:30am. I take complete ownership of the fact that I was late. I repeatedly tried to call and notify them but they don't even turn on their phone lines until 8:30am which is technically their "business hours" and makes absolutely no sense at all that you would schedule me at 8am given your office technically isn't open till 8:30am according to your recording. So after arriving, I was told they would see what they could do. I was so appreciative. Then moments later, told unfortunately no, they could not see me, but the lady at the front desk let it slip that the doctor wasn't even in yet!!! He was still at the hospital. So tell me how it's okay, had I arrived on time to keep me waiting for 30 minutes to 1 hour and possibly more and not to even make an exception since the doctor hadn't even arrived yet!!! Then it gets better. This very nice gentleman, thank you to whoever you are for the gesture, offers to give me his appointment because he's unable to wait. People do have work and other things to attend to. Maria, who apparently is next in charge in the front, and very rude, denies this request as well. At this point she's just trying to prove a point that I'm late and therefore will not be seen. I hope Maria that you are never in the pain that I'm currently in and get treated so coldly. You could have easily made an exception and chose not to. I have nothing negative to say about the doctor, hence I didn't even see him. Unfortunately you have to deal with the staff before you even get to him and now I will have to go through the process of waiting for another referral because I absolutely refuse to go here. If you're reading these reviews ahead of time, save yourself the trouble and choose elsewhere. read more

Well, I had yet another appointment with Dr. Jung, and I can confidently repeat what I wrote the first time. Not only was the level of care and attention I received the first time delivered again, but the staff was kind, courteous, attentive, and efficient. With everything I have read from other reviewers, I went in the office the first time wondering if I was in the wrong office. What's wrong with you people? Would you rather wait for a physician who has proven that he is good at what he does, or would you rather get right in to see a doctor who has no patients? I'd rather see Dr. Jung in a heartbeat. Good man. Knowledgeable. Answered my questions and addressed my concerns. Accepting that my questions might be a bit vague but he knew what I was asking about the ear, nose, throat, neck, nerves around the area, tonsils, esophagus, upper GI - not all his area but he knew what he knew and what to refer out and to where. His staff is very kind. Also, in and out in very reasonable time. Maybe 5-10 minutes in lobby and 5-10 in the office before he arrives. Honestly, 10 would be on the high side for both of those times. I was so impressed with what I went through that I wanted everyone to know. Angela in the office is just the BEST and made me feel like everything was going to be okay. She assured me if there was something to find, the Dr would find it. Appt. time, Carmen called me in and took vitals and listened to me and took notes and said the Dr would figure it all out.. and again, not to worry. Dr Jung came in and was in no hurry to leave until all my questions were answered. He listened to me carefully and assessed me and l was happy with the outcome. I have been seeing Dr. Jung as needed for the past 20+ years. He is one of the best in his field from a technical standpoint. His one negative is his inability to show compassion or the ability to listen to the patient. His front desk person is easy to work with but his assistants are as abrupt and seemingly uncaring as he is. His waiting room is SRO and the wait time is unusually long. In the final analysis, if you want someone who knows their field, choose Dr. Jung. If compassion and caring is important, keep looking. read more

If it were possible, I'd gladly hand out a negative rating based strictly on Dr. Jung's front office staff. They are seriously the most unhelpful, rude, nonprofessional paraprofessionals that my wife and I have ever had the misfortune of being forced to deal with... If you call to ask a question, you'd better be prepared to get some attitude. It felt like we were putting them out whenever we had to call with a question or a concern. Seeing how Dr. Jung has the bedside manners of...um.... a surgeon, it is up to his front office staff make up for that shortcoming by being friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. As far as Dr. Jung as a surgeon, our daughter survived and is doing well. Five stars for that... UPDATE!!!!! Went for the follow-up at 8:45 (waited 90 minutes- how can they already be so far behind that early in the morning- sheesh!!) Let's just keep this simple and sweet. Nurse (sitting on chair): "So you still weigh 72 pounds?" Wife & daugher (look at each other and throw their shoulders up): "Not sure." Nurse (still sitting): "Well, we'll just put that she is still 72 pounds." Whatever happened to nurses getting up and weighing a patient? I am just so flustered by the level of unprofessionalism that I received by the person I called with. I was referred to Dr. Jung's care from my insurance and was hoping to make an appointment. When I called in, I was told that my referral did not show up and that I had to resend my referral. Sure, that can happen. So I call my insurance and tell them that they didnt receive my referral, but then my insurance tells me that they faxed it. Confused, I call back to Dr Jung's office to tell her the situation. The amount and level of attitude that I got was just so shocking that I was just in lost of words. She seemed so impatient and almost angry at me that she didnt get my insurance. I know its a miscommunication with the faxing but at least she could show some compassion and professionalism. When I was explaining to her she literally cut me off and I was sent straight to the automated voicemail. I will NOT be going here. If I have something to say to the management here at Dr Jung's, PLEASE hire better receptionists who actually have some decent manners and attitude towards people who call. I saw other reviews that also have had similar experiences that I had and I just want to warn future people who consider coming here. If this man is lazy why does he see endless people from opening to closing every day.I found Dr Jung and his staff to be very friendly and genuinely concerned about you as a patient . I am completely satisfied with his diagnosis and recommendations .Dr. Jung tells you what is going on and what to expect. He performed surgery on me to remove polyps and scar tissue build up in my sinus cavities. No complaints just praise for a job well done.I am very grateful to have had him as my surgeon. read more

I don't know if Doctor Jung is lazy, just incompetent, or is retired on duty (he has to be at least 70 years old). I have been trying for years to get throat surgery due to a constricted airway. He flat out did not want to help me at all. When I called him out of his lack of providing health care (over numerous visits) he reluctantly looked at my sinuses and recommended surgery. I went to my Primary care doctor (Sharobiem) and told him I was going to fire him if he could not do anything. He promptly ordered blood work and an MRI. The MRI showed blocked airway (exactly what I'd been telling Sharobiem and Jung) so I wanted that added to my upcoming surgery. Sharobiem's office did not give Jung the MRI film. This is where the office staff gave major attitude- me stating there was more information they need to obtain was met with total defiance towards me. Even my wife became upset at the amount of unprofessionalism and attitude thrown at me. On date of surgery (08-02-13) I saw that 'possible' removal of adenoids was on my order. I wrote that this was a primary concern on that form. The nurse at Riverside Community Hospital freaked out and removed and replaced that order page in my chart. I told Jung that was why I was having the surgery, hence all my office visits. His reply was that the MRI showed a constricted airway (uh yeah, I know) and he'll look at it. I said. It feels like someone is stepping on my throat and I want that problem fixed. As stated to him for over the last year. I want my throat fixed was mentioned every visit to his office. So when I awoke from my surgery I was informed that he did not do surgery to my throat. Obviously, I was upset and demanded to speak to him. He said, no adenoids, no surgery. I said again this is why I am there and he left the recovery room. I've contacted an attorney. Hopefully Jung will dealt with as well as the Riverside Community Hospital for being complicit in me not getting my surgery. If you want results and a professional staff stay away from Doctor Jung's office. Again, there should be negative stars for a review... read more

My 2 year old daughter was recently a patient of Dr Jung. After suffering from snoring and sleep apnea almost every night since birth, I requested her primary doctor to refer her to ENT. I had the option between two ENT specialists and was advised that an appointment with Dr Jung would be further out, but, because of the great things I've heard from this doctor, I decided to give him a try. Staff is very nice, a little unorganized at times but they've never been rude and do make the attempt to accommodate you. Dr Jung goes straight to the point; thoroughly addresses his findings and further explains his plan of care. My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed and also had ear tubes placed in less than 1.5 hrs. She has finally been able to sleep without any disruptions or discomfort. She wakes up with full energy and a smile. I can't thank Dr. Jung enough for the normalcy he has instilled in my baby's life! read more

After arriving to our appointment the front desk informed me the Doctor was at a meeting and would be 30-45 late. We were seen 40 minutes after our appointment time. The Doctor came into the room and proceeded to examine my 8 year old son without telling him what he was doing he quickly numbed his nose with spray and cauterized his nose. No bedside manner was given to my scared and nervous son. He made no eye contact with me, spoke so soft I could barely hear him and left the room while I was still asking questions. Dr. Jung is nothing short of amazing! He has always been thorough, polite, and friendly every time he has seen me. Dr. Jung successfully performed a tympanomastoidectomy and removed a cholesteotoma from my ear and given me my life back! As far as people complaining about having to wait, of course you're going to have to wait a little bit! Dr. Jung is a world renowned surgeon and is in high demand that is well worth the wait! Dr Jung is probably the worst doctor I have ever seen, when it comes to bedside manner. We brought our daughter in so that Dr. Jung could give a second opinion on whether she needs her adenoids removed due to constant sinus and ear infections. First of all, we had to wait over an hour before we were called in to see the doctor. Then his staff asked us how much our daughter weighed. When we responded with an "I don't know" she decided to weigh her. We spent the next 10mins explaining to her why we were there while she typed up some notes. Then Dr. Jung glanced at her notes and began his examination. Mind you my daughter is 3 so she isn't the most cooperative patient. Doctor Jung began asking her some pretty complicated questions that she couldn't understand let alone answer. He seemed to be getting impatient with her. Before we could ask any questions he was walking out of the door while what seemed to be him whispering to us we should follow him to a different examination room. While in there he looked at her ears through a microscope. When he was done with the scope he began rattling off his diagnosis and treatment plan. We tried to tell him several times that the medication he was perscribing caused our child to get sick in the past. His response led us to believe that he did not believe what we were saying so he perscribed the medication anyway. After that he became very unresponsive to our concerns and questions. Several times he started walking out of the room while we were in the middle of asking him a question. Each time he came back to the room a little more aggitated and a little more unresponsive. The staff in the room started to notice that we were getting very frustrated with him so she answered some of the questions to best of her abilities. If I were you I would not take my child to see Dr. Jung. He is very old and unresponsive. I will say he did order an additional test that our other doctor did not. We are hoping this additional test will shed some more light on our daughter's ailment. read more

Arrived a half hour early for my appointment made nearly two months earlier (referral from my family practice dr.) to find a completely full waiting room. Receptionist gave me some paperwork to fill out and since there was no seating I remained at the counter to fill it out. While doing so a kindly older woman came up to the receptionist and I overheard her ask when she would be seen for her appointment that was already half an hour over due. The receptionist coldly said there were still two more ahead of her and that she could reschedule which she did. At this point I looked at the clock and the number of people in the room and with some quick math deduced that I was either going to be there for hours or Dr. Jung was going to rifle through these people so fast that it could hardly be worthwhile...and then I saw red! Told the receptionist that this doctor apparently is willing to abuse my time and is clearly overbooking! Her excuse was that Dr. Jung doesn't come in everyday and I said....what does that have to do with a two month old appointment? I gave her back the paperwork and turned around to all the people in the room declaring that this doctor is an "overbooker" and that I hoped they all had plenty of time on their hands for this guy! I later called my referring doctor and advised him to find a new referral if he wants my business. read more

I was referred to Dr. Jung by my medical group for surgery to restore hearing loss. I waited months to get in for the initial consult, which meant I had to endure difficulty at work due to the hearing loss. When I arrived for the appointment, the parking lots adjacent and nearby were full so I had to drive further away through the nearby neighborhood to find parking, putting me 1/4 mile away from the office. When I arrived, the waiting room was full and I got the last open seat. Shortly thereafter, more patients arrived and had to stand as there were not enough seats. I noticed a sign indicating that patients might not be able to see the doctor at their appointment time due to "emergent" issues the doctor might have to deal with. In response to my query, the receptionist informed me there were 4 patients in front of me. It was 1/2 an hour after my scheduled appt. before that number dwindled to 3 indicating my wait might be 2 hours. As I had to leave an hour and a half after the appointment time to return to work for an important meeting I could not miss, I had no choice but to cancel the appointment. The receptionist said it would be two months before I could get another appointment. I called the office of my referring physician (with Healthnet) and reported the problem, indicating that I did not have confidence in the doctor based on the lack of professionalism I found in the waiting room, and asked for a new referral. Right after, I called Kaiser (I have both Healthnet and Kaiser) and got an appointment to see a specialist in one week (compared to the months it took me to get the initial referral to Dr. Jung, and then the months I had to wait for the appointment with Jung!) As my employer and I have jointly paid months and months of health insurance premiums to Healthnet without my being able to get actual timely medical access, and my hearing affects my ability to do my job, I also reported this problem to my company's health benefits facilitator. read more
