Everything went well. Custom design, obviously clean but also great atmosphere. New age technology, from how they draw to how you care for it. Now this review is strictly based on THE TATTOO. Mikey C the artist, is a great guy. Cool, great conversation but needs a little more attention to detail. I blame myself for not doing enough research on getting a tattoo with having darker skin. I guess I was in the moment, happy with finally starting my sleeve, that I didn't notice everything. Overall the tattoo is aight. More attention to detail from Mike is needed. The hands on the people aren't good. The guardians hands are wide and un uniformed. The kids hands look like lobster claws. The feathers are basic. I wanted the feathers to be realistic.The picture on the right is what I gave him. Maybe a week after the session I jokingly asked why he didn't put my picture on the Gram, no response. I did some research that most tattoo artist who aren't accustomed to doing darker skin, wont post it in their portfolio. They like posting brighter more colorful tattoos. Okay. Thats your option. But let the customer know upfront of your difficulties or fear. Not saying this is why he didn't post it. This is just for information. Do your research. Thanks! read more

I had a great experience here, even though I ended up going somewhere else. Matt (I think he's the owner?) was receptive to my emails. His work is gorgeous, it speaks for itself. Tattoo artists with half that talent barely answer a text. Just go look at his work online. I'm not kidding. I wanted a smallish tattoo, and he was willing to try to fit me in. He even gave me some pointers about size and placement. Who even cares about doing that nowadays?! Matt does apparently. Ultimately, I went somewhere else that had an immediate opening. It wasn't a slight on this tattoo shop in any way. They were just busy, which is a very good thing. I do plan on eventually going here. I have every confidence that this place is great. My husband and I went into this shop for their 13$ Friday the 13th tattoo. We have since been back for 4 more tattoos between the two of us from both Nick and Matt. their work is definitely my favorite in Chicago. I just got a tattoo by Jenn and I couldn't be happier with it. I emailed her a couple weeks ago about my idea for a pin up version of the Miller High Life girl and we got a appointment set up to do the tattoo. The shop was easy to find. Very clean and organized in shop. Not overcrowded like some shops can be. The music being played was on point. Wu Tang is for the Kids! I worked with Nick of a tattoo design that I had planned to travel to his shop from St. Louis to get. He was easy to work with, and I was excited to see what he put together for me. Upon arriving to the shop, everyone was very friendly and welcoming, which isn't always the case at tattoo shops. Nick's design was AMAZING and perfect. I was very happy with the experience and the outcome. Since then, he's done another piece for me while at the convention is STL. He'll be back again this fall, and I can't wait to set up another appointment for a 3rd piece. Cannot recommend him and the shop highly enough. read more

went there to get a skull tattoo. jenn gawle took care of me. she came back with a drawing that looked like a cartoon. the skull head was to big and long. perportions way off. I asked for it to be smaller and she said she couldn't make it smaller bc it would ruin the teeth.
