My fiancée paid $500 upfront to tattoo artist Marvin Cruz for a tattoo he was doing out of his home. He never followed through. Once he started working at Apocalipsis Tattoo, he said the shop would only honor the agreement if my fiance paid an additional $50 chair fee. He paid it, and then MARVIN began dodging attempts to schedule an appointment. When we asked for a refund, he stopped responding altogether and blocked my fiance on social media. Walking away with $550 of someone's money without delivering any service is theft, plain and simple. This is the kind of artist Apocalipsis Tattoo chooses to employ. If you value your money and your time, avoid working with Marvin Cruz -- and think twice about any shop that allows this kind of behavior from their staff. read more

Piercings are affordable and legit. My septum piercing got botched at the last shop i went to. Was pierced crooked and hurt like a mf, never healed. I took it out and a month later came here. I told Juana about this and she made sure that i was good to be pierced again, and made sure i got pierced correctly this time. Absolutely painless, not crooked, and looks amaze. They also make sure to adjust jewelry to make sure healing process goes well which is a lot more thoughtful than other places I've been to. I will say though If you're used to expensive boujee jewelry boutiques doing your piercings then it might be a little culture shock coming here. You're not paying 70+ dollars for a piercing for the experience. You'll be in and out. Thank u Juana my goat for getting me right read more

Super rough and messy piercer, she does not know what she is doing at all, she pierces curved jewelry with straight needles

Went in for a septum piercing May 15th, '24. The staff were nice but when getting pierced, the piercer didn't count down he just said "ok", so I didn't really get to prepare. Also didn't let me check the markings beforehand, was talking to who I assumed was his apprentice the whole time. It hurt soooo so much more than what I've heard septum's normally do, and when I checked it - and it seemed very crooked to me. I brought this up, and instead of repiercing it, they laid me down and the girl (the apprentice I think) said "he's pinching it closed because it's so big and that can make it seem crooked". After they did that, I just wanted to leave ASAP, because other times when I've gotten a piercing and said it was crooked at other places, they've just redone the piercing. So this was very strange to me. I got home and checked, and turned out all he did was bend the bar itself crooked - so that way it would "look" straighter when looking in a mirror. They did not use a clamp or take their time, it felt like they wanted me out of there as soon as possible. read more

I went in and went over exactly what I wanted, where I wanted it. They called a young Mexican lady named Yuli (here from Mexico, working part time). She couldn't speak English, luckliy (I'm also have Mexican), speak Spanish. I go over the entire process with here again, explaining what I want and where. She says ok, $800. I gave a $200 deposit. The next day, as I am sending the pictures of the ideas I have, she says it's going to be more money for that...! WHAT???!!! This was a total scam. I can't believe they have people working in their "shop" , first that are here half assed working, and two that can't even communicate in the native language. Maybe something was lost in translation, doubt it. Yuli sucks! read more

This is an update to my previous experience! I got my 2nd lobe and tragus pierced here. My piercer was very nice and they took the appropriate steps in cleaning while maintaining Covid-19 protocols. He used curved bars in my 2nd lobes and tragus which I believe they all were the same size. I was given sea salt and an after care instructions during my first appointment. The instructions were behavioral and cleaning tips. The aftercare instructions recommendation was to clean my piercing with saline. Which I have used over the counter saline solution for all my other piercings. The piercer also give me verbal instructions that were slightly different from the aftercare instructions. He explained that I need to mix the saline solution or non-idoized kosher sea salt with the tree tea oil. He wanted me to make a higher concentration in a shot glass with 2-3 drops of tea tree oil. A few weeks into my tragus piercing I noticed a tiny bump forming on the exterior of my lobe. My lobe piercings were ok as I have had my first lobe repierced before. The interior part of my tragus was swollening which I couldn't see inside my ear. After a week or two some of the swollen went down. I noticed a bump on the inside of my ear forming. I was using the over counter saline spray 2-3x a day to clean my ear. The exterior bump was growing and my ear felt uncomfortable. I called the piercing shop and the same piercer was like that wasn't the directions I told you! When I informed him of the bump and how odd it was looking. He described the bump as a keloid and it would take the tree tea oil with saline to heal my piercing. I explained I followed the written aftercare instructions but wrote down his verbal and compiled. My family and I have keloids I know from personal history those do not heal. Keloid have to be surgically removed! Given my personal experiencing with piercing before this is was just a gross looking piercing bump. These are usually caused trauma to the site, improper aftercare, or something the piercer did! So I knew this might not be caused by cleaning or the piercer setup. Once my 2nd lobe was healed I went to another shop. I was desperate because I wanted the piercing bars out he put in my lobes. These bars were getting caught on my hair, clothes, and mask. I had the hardest time unscrewing the balls so I knew I need a piercer with clamp. The guy at the new piercing shop was shocked and appalled! I will not name the shop but it has been around a lot long then Apocalipsis. I went in to have my tragus checked as well because it was super late and Apocalipsis wasn't open. I went in to downsize my ear lobe jewelry. The piercer at the new shop explained my lobes have navel ring jewelry in them which is WRONG! He explained my tragus was pierced with the same jewelry which is a strong possibility why I am having a problem with it right now. So I am struck for the next 4+ months with the wrong jewelry in my ears which might prolong my healing. It safe to say I will not be back here unless I want my belly button pierced jk! read more

I went here for my first nose piercing. Really quick service you just have to pay in cash (don't make the same mistake as I did lol). People there are also really nice and caring. Mario, who did my piercing, kept on a conversation enough for me to not notice the needle up until I felt a slight pinch and then it was over. I went again a few days ago to get my septum pierced and it was very quick service! Very good customer service!! :) read more

Went it for a tattoo I haven't had one in 10+ years so I kinda had like a few ideas when I was explaining to the artist he told he would be right back and never came back. I got my septum done by Groovie. I loooved my experience. I have very bad anxiety and I couldn't stand still. When it was my turn to get pierced, her station was extremely clean, she wore mask and gloves the whole time and made sure to keep everything sanitized. Y'all, my anxiety was sky rocketing and Groovie helped me breathe, calm myself and ground myself. When she put the needle in my nose, I didn't even feel it!! I came in for a walk in tattoo and expected the best. I had my tattoo drew out. I had asked them to change one thing about it, the font. I wrote it regular and asked for cursive. She put the tattoo on me before using the tattoo gun and I noticed a spelling issue. I told them to correct it and they reput it on me and asked if the spelling was okay. I didn't think to check my design until after she finalized the tattoo. They completely changed my design and created their own and now I'm stuck with this. Yes my fault for not triple checking but I never asked for the design to be switched only the font of the words. read more

My first time here and it was a great experience. Went in with 4 of my friends to get piercings. I got my nose pierced and Mario was fantastic, and he made you feel super comfortable. I was super nervous but he was amazing & didn't hurt at all. 10/10 :) read more

I had messaged the artist that had done work on 2 of tats! I was very interested in him doing doing the very special tattoo I had in mind. I contacted the artist and he confirmed that he would be available and for me to come by anytime! Mind you I made time to drive about 1 hour to see him and explain to him the idea I had for my tattoo. When I walked in and asked for the artist I was told he would not return until Wednesday, it was Sunday! I felt he was gas lighting me when he told me that he would be available so I decided to take my business somewhere my time and money is better valued! read more

I went in for a nose piercing after reading the reviews on Yelp. The place was easily accessible and ample street paid parking. Upon walking in I noticed that the place was fairly clean and was immediately greeted by Mario. He helped me with my paperwork and also was the person who did my piercing. The place was visibly clean and sterile he cleaned his hands and put on gloves. Mario took his time to educate me both before and after the process on how to properly care and maintenance my piercing. Although this was my 5th time having my nose pierced this was the most pleasant of my experiences. I will return for my next tattoo as well. read more

Clean and really nice staff. I was serviced by Daisy for my piercings, I've gotten 4 so far. healing has been great and no complaints. I received a hand tattoo touch up, I forgot his name but his station is all the way in the back, I believe the last chair, I love the touch up because this time the ink actually set into my skin and didn't fade. This is my go to piercing and tattoo shop. I've gotten two tattoos, I was very nervous about getting them done, but the guy that did my tattoos (I don't recall his name) helped calm down my nerves and they weren't painful. I've also gotten 3 different piercings: tragus, daith, and nose piercing. Both gentlemen that did my piercing were very friendly and gentle. Have gotten my nose and ears pierced here and it's good service. Pretty fast service.

*sarcastic voice* GREAT SERVICE! Stood there waiting for the guy to even ask what can I help you with and nothing. I get that he was a client but he could've said I'll be with you in a minute. He took a personal call instead and he even looked straight at me and didn't smile and kept ignoring me. I walked in said hello didn't get a hi back, and I do believe he's the owner there bald gentleman. I went in there to purchase a nose piercing walked out because I was just waiting for nothing. There was several employees in the back room and he could've called one of them which he did not either. I work in a customer service environment as well so I tried being understanding but come on don't look straight at me and just keep talking On your phone you're at work if you have a personal problem/call walk out and call another employee to attend the customers. FYI I've been in here before several times, for a tattoo, several piercings, and actual jewelry. read more
