I made an appointment at Identity to have my ear lobes re-pierced on my daughter in law's…read morerecommendation. It had been a decade since I had worn earrings. The store is bright, spacious and clean. The girls at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Cody was my piercer and was fantastic. He saw me right away, went over everything and was very kind and professional. He gave me his contact information if I had any follow up questions. So far everything is healing nicely and I can't wait to start wearing my own gorgeous earrings.

Went there two days ago on Wednesday for the first time after living in the neighborhood for 10…read moreyears and finally gave them a try. Was super excited to get my industrial re-pierced but had to walk out because of their problematic and unprofessional employees. Before I even walked in, I could see the piercer laying down on the chairs (first red flag). During the consultation she was actually knowledgeable, nice, and made me feel comfortable even though she talked me out of re piercing my industrial saying it was an "advanced" piercing. I figured maybe too advanced when she's half asleep so for my own safety I went with my gut feeling and agreed with her simpler suggestion which I was still excited to get: a mid helix. However by the time I got to the front desk- whose only job is to gather the information the piercer gave them and proceed with checkout- the interaction somehow became more painful than getting any piercing done. The employee kept acting extremely puzzled (kept saying "I'm confused" to my answers to her OWN questions)... how is that even possible? Then every time I asked a simple question about jewelry design, it was the same response: "I'm confused", in addition to unnecessary attitude. I've worked with people with actual cognitive delays and it was very obvious this wasn't the case. They just wanted to be difficult for no reason because not only was she acting confused and being rude, she was also talking about me to her coworker which also proceeded to give me attitude and be passive aggressive. I saw one of them come back from talking to the piercer and then all of a sudden the piercer changed her mind and said she could go ahead with the industrial piercing -No thank you! That's when I matched their energy and expressed I wasn't comfortable with their behavior before trusting them with my body and doing something invasive, apologized to the piercer and walked out to that same employee saying " I hope you have a beautiful day". I was indeed having a beautiful day until I walked in and had to deal with their ugly attitude and continued to have a beautiful day as soon as I stepped out. Maybe they need to start embracing beauty into their lives instead of being intimidated by positivity and projecting their frustrations on customers- after all, people get piercings for a variety of positive reasons not because they hate themselves. Maybe try matching the customers energy next time. Respect yourself, your energy and your body and go somewhere where actual professionals won't use you like a guinea pig to project their frustrations, sadism, hate and incompetence on. If this is how they really treat people, let alone potential paying customers, they need to be in a therapist's office, not a piercing shop.

Hershey did mine and my friend's piercings. My friend was getting her second cartilage done (she…read morehad had them done before but it had closed) and she pierced the wrong one (top instead of bottom), but did the right one at no extra charge and gave her free earrings for her third lobes as well-she was very genuine and felt bad but also we were talking to her so maybe we were distracting. I got a cartilage and a naval piercing. Honestly, my friend and I both say this: her ear and cartilage piercing don't really hurt at all-way less than anywhere I've gotten it done previously. And she's very very nice. For my naval piercing, the original clamp and then needle was done very well, didn't really hurt to much either. Very quick. However, when she went to put the jewelry in following the needle, the needle slipped out and she tried to keep shoving the jewelry through, even though there was no needle to guide it anymore. Ouch! She then re-clamped me and I thought we was just going to re-pierce it but she was really trying to save it. She then lined up the holes from the original piercing with the clamp and tried to shove it through-jewelry only-again. This was very painful (even more painful than when I broke my arm). She then realized it wasn't going to work so she re-pierced it, the jewelry followed smoothly, and it was fine. But the pain throughout shoving the jewelry was really bad, except the actual piercing and re-piercing themselves. She felt genuinely really bad and gave me a free belly ring for when it heals. I at first kind of declined because I'm not really about trying o just get something for free out of it, but she insisted and said she had to "make it right," which was really awesome. She was honest and didn't just try to play anything off which was awesome. So other than the mistakes and pain, she made up for it in the end which I think is very important rather than just playing it off or not caring. Recommend her!
