Occasionally the sandwiches get a little saucy and fall apart before the first bite is taken-then they're no longer sandwiches but must be eaten with a fork, making that sandwich craving unfulfilled. But, even eaten with a fork the food is darned good and there's plenty of it.

I was so hopeful…read more.. This is definitely a dive bar for locals. We came in for an early dinner and there were several families dining in playing pool or giant jenga with their kids. It was such a fun vibe. A coworker suggested Blue Wave and we were excited to try "the best burgers in Idaho Falls". Unfortunately, outside of the fun atmosphere, the rest of the experience was lackluster. We seated ourselves and waited close to 20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. It wasn't just us either. The table across from us were also clearly tapping their feet in anticipation. Someone from that table actually ended up walking over to the bar to ask for service. Once our waitress finally made it to the table, we had mulled over what we were going to order more times than I can count. But alas, we made a decision. We ordered mini corndogs, a pastrami burger for my fiancé, and a mushroom & swiss burger for myself. Both burgers came with a side of fries -- I wanted tater tots but they were all out. Let's talk taste. The mini corndogs were burnt. I actually think they would've tasted so much better if that weren't the case. The chef gave us more corndogs than what's on the menu but that's probably because he knew they were burnt (LOL)! The pastrami burger was meh. I can't think of another word to describe it. The beef patty was overcooked and the pastrami slices were dry. My mushroom & swiss burger was better but still not good. The beef patty was cooked to a medium-well but lacked flavor. There were no condiments on my burger so I kept dipping it in fry sauce hoping that would give it some life. I'm not sure why The Blue Wave gets hyped up so much. We won't be coming back -- at least not for the food.

The eggs were sunnyside up as I requested. The yolks were a little too cooked, but they tasted good. The toast was nice and hot and crunchy like toast should be. The ham had a nice taste and complimented the meal well. I had water and coffee to drink. They had a nice packaged creamer and honey so my coffee tasted good. As I was waiting for the shuttle I was able score a table in a corner looking out to where the shuttle would show up when it came to pick me up so I could relax and enjoy my breakfast. The service was good, but they didn't fill my water on time. But they eventually did fill my water. I will return. I've heard their burgers are good!

Rubbing alcohol and numb tinge two drinks in a row then I cancelled the drink it was terrible. Our appetizer was the calamari fries and cheese curds which was a 50/50. The cheese curds are good but calamari fries are not anything more than a handful of frozen calamari with cocktail sauce. For dinner we ordered the steak and coconut shrimp medium cook with man n cheese and asparagus. I'm not happy much. The coconut shrimp was great but the steak was terrible. It was tough and over cooked. Seared with a hard grill mark of burned taste. The man n cheese taste like they boiled it in broccoli water... or it was next to some but idk. The asparagus was good but hung over and was touching the tray and table when placed on the table so not sure what else it was touching in the kitchen. All in all $140 later I am not happy at all. Our poor waitress was unsure if we were going to say something about another thing so she was hesitant to come back. One Dr Pepper for my whole meal. Yes we still tipped her $21 dollars and know the drinks and food wasn't her fault.
